I want to start off with this character because I feel really sorry for her, and her death continues to haunt me to this day.

Her death scene started off as a peaceful day, until Briarkit was attacked by a snake, and she saved the kit. However, she was bit and poisoned by the snake, and she died painfully.

Even though Leafpool and the others arrived in time, they saw that there was nothing they could do, and didn't lift a paw to help her.

The most disturbing line is when she cries out "Help me! My blood is on fire! Help me! Please! It hurts so much!" She was obviously suffering, yet no one helped her. It would've even been reasonable to end her life sooner, to put her out of her misery.

Imagine laying on the ground, dying, while your whole clan stands around you, just helplessly staring at you, while you scream in pain, asking for them to help you, but yet they just stare at you, as you die.

Most of the other characters in the series died somewhat knowing they're going to die. As in they had time for last words, and talk to their clan one last time. But Honeyfern just... died a gruesome death. She had no bittersweet goodbye in her death, just agony.

Even worst, her mate immediately abandoned her for her sister. He did not even care that she died a painful and heroic death. He didn't grieve for her, and just went like "ah well, she has a sister, yay, replacement mate!"
