***WARNING: May have minor spoilers for Omen of the Stars***

I actually like Breezepelt. He's probably one of the most developed characters who has a good enough reason to want revenge. Sure, he's always grumpy and always wanting to fight, having a strong hatred towards Lionblaze, Jayfeather, and Hollyleaf, but he had a reason to.

Breezepelt never really had an actual caring father. Crowfeather was always shown to be mad at Breezepelt for wanting to be noticed and praised. He has even been showed to avoid praising his son. Breezepelt would have felt upset and hurt by his father's reaction. His whole Clan hates him for wanting to be noticed practically, and the only cat who seemed to be there for him was Nightcloud, and possibly Heathertail seeing as he's to be around her a lot.

Crowfeather rarely acknowledged him when he wasn't trying to get noticed but when he did, he often hissed at him. Breezepelt clearly showed that he preferred the Dark Forest, reason being that they noticed him more than Crowfeather ever did. Children always want to get attention from their parents and would do anything, which Breezepelt was actually doing.

Knowing he had ThunderClan kin made him outraged and the fact Crowfeather seemed to always notice them over anything made him grow a hatred for Lionblaze, Jayfeather and Hollyleaf. He clearly understood his father never wanted him and that he was most likely a big mistake. This gave him a reason to wanting to be with the Dark Forest.

Crowfeather didn't care about him at all. He never talked to Breezepelt about his problems and just chased him out of his sight just to admit he cared about his ThunderClan cats. Did Crowfeather ever actually look out for Breezepelt or even act lovingly towards Breezepelt? No. He just shoved him out of his life, basically. If he even loved his son like he stated he did, he'd have praised Breezepelt.

Breezepelt always wanted to show his father he was as good as Lionblaze but Crowfeather never thought twice of him. All he was to him was just some cat to save his reputation with WindClan. What Nightcloud was was care for Breezepelt, not put lies into his head like Crowfeather said, which was not true and obvious he wanted to blame Nightcloud for his actions.

Breezepelt is one of the cats you can relate to as he's always been neglected by his father. If Crowfeather did show any signs of caring for his kin, he should have at least talked with Breezepelt and solve his problems rather than leaving it to get worse. Breezepelt deserves better than to be hated when he has actually gone through something. If you put yourself in his situation, you'd feel like you don't even matter at all no a matter how hard you try, and you'd feel sad, unwanted and forever lonely.

Perhaps if Crowfeather had been a better father and realised he had an another kit besides the ones he has in ThunderClan, Breezepelt may have never gone to the Dark Forest and would be a different cat from what he is right now.
