(Don't ship)
"Cinderheart, you shouldn't be in the medicine den. You're a warrior, not Cinderpelt or a medicine cat," Jayfeather told the she-cat as he stood at the entrance to the medicine den. Cinderheart jerked slightly and turned.
"I wasn't sorting out herbs or doing anything," she said quickly.
"Then why are you in here?" Jayfeather questioned.
"I don't know!"
"You're bound to."
"Maybe I'm not?" Jayfeather said nothing for a few heartbeats.
"Look, why are you in here, Cinderheart? You have a reason." Cinderheart hesitated.
"Uh, I was just leaving." Cinderheart pushed past Jayfeather. "Love you." Jayfeather's head shot up and he turned, trotting after the she-cat.
"What did you just tell me?" he asked and Cinderheart turned.
"N--nothing!"
"You said something. Did you say you loved me?" Jayfeather's gaze burned into Cinderheart as he waited for her to answer.
"I said I loved Lionblaze. Why in the name of StarClan would I love you?" Jayfeather narrowed his eyes slightly.
"You tell me," he mewed.
"Because I don't, okay? Besides, you're just a medicine cat," Cinderheart replied and turned, continuing to walk.
"Just a medicine cat? I'm not just a medicine cat, thank you very much!" Jayfeather retorted to the grey tabby she-cat. Cinderheart just rolled her eyes and noticed Lionblaze.
"Cinderheart?"
"What?"
"Can I talk to you behind the warriors' den?" Lionblaze asked.
"Um, okay, I guess," Cinderheart mewed and began following Lionblaze behind the warriors' den. Cinderheart sat and wrapped her tail around her paws. "What is it?"
"You know how our destinies are in our way, as you say? Well, forget about it. We can be mates as well as following our destinies."
"I'm sorry, Lionblaze, but I'm over you," Cinderheart told the golden tabby. Lionblaze blinked.
"Wh-what?"
"I'm over you. I'm sorry, but I don't think we were meant to be. We can just be friends, okay?" Cinderheart said. She noticed sadness filling up in Lionblaze's eyes. He said nothing and walked away, his head hung low and his tail drooping.
Cinderheart looked at the medicine den and began walking back to it. She walked through the entrance and Jayfeather was talking to Briarlight. He could sense Cinderheart's presence and lifted his head up, his blind gaze looking to where she was standing.
"What now, Cinderheart?" the ThunderClan medicine cat sighed.
"Okay, I did tell you that I love you," Cinderheart confessed. Jayfeather's gaze blinked.
"I love you too," the grey tabby tom mewed. Briarlight, who was sitting in the middle, blinked.
"What? That's not fair! I loved Jayfeather first!" she blurted out. Cinderheart and Jayfeather turned their heads.
"Sorry, Briarlight, but we could never be mates," Jayfeather told the brown she-cat.
"Neither can you and Cinderheart!" Anger began blazing in Briarlight's eyes.
"But we love each other," Cinderheart said. Briarlight sighed and lowered her head.
"Why does StarClan hate me?" Tears began falling from her eyes.
"StarClan doesn't hate you, Briarlight," Cinderheart mewed.
"I guess," Briarlight said, letting out another sigh. She tried looking happy. "I won't tell any cat about you two being mates." Jayfeather lifted his head to look at Cinderheart.
"But what about Lionblaze?"
"He'll be okay," Cinderheart answered.
"Okay," Jayfeather said.
