"Are they okay? Are you okay, Briarlight?" Millie questioned as two kits let out a mew. One was a she-kit, a dark brown tabby, and the other was a tom, a grey tom with a few darker stripes. Jayfeather's clear blue eyes stared at the kittypet.

"Of course they're okay," Jayfeather snapped. "If they weren't, they'd be dead already." Millie looked at the medicine cat.

"Yes, yes. I'm sorry, Jayfeather," the she-cat mewed. Jayfeather let out a sigh. Can you go away, mouse-brain? he thought. "They will be okay, right? Even Briarlight?" Blossomfall shot a glare at her mother.

"Yes!" Jayfeather said, irritated. "Now can you just go and let Briarlight have some peace without you constantly bugging her with your questions?" Millie took a step back.

"Y-Yeah, okay, then," she said with a bit if stammering. She turned to Blossomfall. "It's time to go. We must leave Briarlight alone." The she-cat then walked out of the medicine den, Blossomfall following. Jayfeather let out a sigh. He then turned to look at his mate.

"Have you thought of any names for them yet?" he asked, his voice normal. Briarlight nodded.

"I thought the she-kit would be called Dusk-kit," she announced, "and the tom would be Stonekit."

"Those are beautiful names," Jayfeather commented.

"Thanks!" Briarlight purred. Jayfeather stared down at the two bundles of fur, letting out a smile across his face. "Should I say that you're the father?" Jayfeather hesitated, remembering about Squirrelflight. The she-cat had lied to him and his siblings and they were angry at her. He didn't want his kits to hate him or Briarlight at all. He nodded.

"Yes, you should. I don't want them to feel lied to for their whole lives like me," he mewed.

"Okay," Briarlight said. Jayfeather lay down onto the moss bedding Briarlight was lying on and rested his head on her back, closing his eyes.

"I love you," the medicine cat murmured softly.

"I love you too," Briarlight mewed, wrapping her tail around her two kits. Jayfeather then all of a sudden remembered about Half Moon. He had once loved the pretty white she-cat. The warmth in her beautiful green eyes, the smile she used to always give him. . . But Jayfeather knew he loved Briarlight the most, and it would always be that way, wether he joins StarClan or stays alive, and even if Briarlight died before him. They'd always be together.
