(Somewhat ship)
Billystorm pounced and his paws stepped on a twig. The mouse's ears twitched and it darted away before Billystorm could catch it.
"Don't you know how to hunt?" Sharpclaw growled. "This is why day-time warriors should make up their minds about joining SkyClan or not!" Billystorm hung his head.
"Sharpclaw, don't be hard on Billystorm. He is loyal to SkyClan and it's okay with me if he goes to his Twolegs at night. He'll get the hang on it and with you getting onto him, I doubt he'd feel confident to catch something," Leafstar told her deputy as she padded from bushes. Sharpclaw swung his head to face the leader.
"Sorry, Leafstar," he apologised. Leafstar said nothing.
"Could I have a word with Billystorm alone, Sharpclaw?" The SkyClan deputy nodded and walked away. When he had left, Leafstar turned to Billystorm, who shifted his paws uneasily.
"I should stop being a SkyClan warrior. I just scare off all of the prey," he said.
"No, Billystorm. You just need to practise more and you'll get the hang of it," Leafstar mewed. Billystorm looked up at the she-cat.
"You're not mad at me?"
"Of course not. I'm proud of you for never giving up -- and I do not see you as a kittypet or anything like that. You're a great warrior."
"Thanks, Leafstar," Billystorm mewed.
"You're welcome. I actually didn't want to talk about your hunting skills."
"What is it?" Billystorm questioned.
"Well, I. . . love you," Leafstar confessed to the tom.
"Really? Well, I actually love you too," Billystorm mewed. The two new mates smiled as they looked into each other's eyes. There was silence, but it was only to be broken by Sharpclaw's voice. The two cats looked as Sharpclaw came dashing from the bushes, panting as if he had ran forever.
"The rats are back," Sharpclaw panted.
"Okay," Leafstar mewed, and she and her new mate began to pad away.
