Chap 8 part 1

Still Streamstar POV

"It was her", came from behind me as I dumbstruck looked at Lightpaw. Turning around, I realized the source from the voice was the new medicine cat, Stripedtail. I gave her a 'how' look, and she sighed.

"I have no clue what happened, all I know is that Len-Lightpaw was the one who hurt her mentor. All we can do now, is wait", The silver she-cat answered my unspoken question. I nodded, and sat down.

Time skippppp

Finally, one of the hurt cats began to move. I was licking my pelt when I heard shuffling from the nest. Lightpaw was awake.

"You woke up", I said. She looked at me with her working eye, her blind one sending a small chill through my spine.

"What happened."

"I-i...", Lightpaw began. I sighed and gave her a 'Its OK if you tell me' look. She seemed to understand.

"We were battle t-training. Mid b-battle, h-he told me to f-fight claws un-unsheathed. I had h-hesitated, but then I-I did it. After a while, I kinda forgot he was my mentor.. Or that my claws was unsheathed. So I slid down under him, and raked my claws t-through his fur. When I looked back I realized my mistake, but the juice for my accelerator also was so low that I passed...", she said.

I watched as she repeatedly banged her head in the stony walls of the den. Soon some blood was seen through her fur. I lifted my tail to stop Stripedtail when she took a step forward. I could smell her fear, but didn't care. This apprentice was special in her own way.

Chap 8 part 2

I walked forward, and grabbed her neck fur. She had by instinct recalled, as I had calculated. Now there was almost no blood left. I grabbed her in the neck fur again. This time, I didn't release. I dragged her towards the shore. After a while she started speaking (not counting the moans as she hit rocks or sticks).

"Where are we going?"

"You'll see."

"...."

"What?"

"A-are you gonna throw me into the lake?"

"Maybe..."

"WHAT"

Wait, she believed me?!?! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!

"Just kidding stupid! You are the one who will save the clans! Plus, it was Wingedspirit who wanted you to unsheathe your claws, not you", I reassured her.

She just looked dumbfounded, but I didn't care. We were at the lake!

"Let me see your swim.", I said. She immediately stood up and ran towards the water, sand sent flying behind her. I giggled, as she reminded me of me, in my younger age. I watched as she dived down into the water, coming up to the surface moments later. She swam elegantly in a circle, and tried to look at me waiting for an order.

"Dive and see if you can get a fish! If you don't, you have to swim to the island and back!", I challenged her. She dove under the surface.

Chap 8 part 3

Back to Lightpaw's (Lena's) POV

I dove under the surface, letting the cold water seep through my fur. It was relaxing. I forgot that I had to catch a fish, and swam around like one instead. When I got to the surface without a fish, Streamstar shouted my name.

"Now you have to go to the island and back!"

I sighed as I realized I had to catch a fish and failed. Well well, more time in the water is OK with me!

I turned towards the island, using my tail to steer. I dove under the surface again, so I could feel the same sensation. I'm glad Starclan chose Riverclan for me!

After what I guessed was about thirty minutes (we were at the place on Riverclan that were furthest from the island), I returned to the shore in our territory. Streamstar had caught some fish, which she shared with me.

"You're a good swimmer, Lightpaw. Maybe I should've named you Swiftpaw, so you could be Swiftswimmer when you become a warrior!", my leader joked.

"Might as well rename me to Mentorkiller, that would fit better", I murmured. Streamstar looked at me with worry in my eyes. She got up, and before I knew what was happening I was pushed into the water.

"HEY", I growled, dragging her with me. We ended up throwing water at each other in the shallow water on the beach, until we saw a patrol that had been hiding in the bush watching us.

I giggled, as Streamstar also noticed this.

The patrol stepped out. It included Jayeye, Perchpaw, Swimmingspirit and the clan deputy, Lakeheart. Everyone in the patrol burst out in laughter.

"Having a break from training your new apprentice, I see?", the blue-furred deputy mewed. Streamstar blinked her left eye (which was so only I could see it), before she and I started kicking water towards them. The patrol screamed as the ran into the splash-war. I never noticed the words that the blue-eyed deputy had said before later that day, when I were resting in my nest.

Chap 8 part 4

As I sat in my nest, grooming my fur, I realized what Lakeheart had said. I thought about the words. 'Having a break from training your new apprentice, I see?' Is she my going to be my new mentor while Wingedspirit is hurt? When did she tell Lakeheart that? I'M SO CONFUSED!

I sighed and lay down curled in my nest.

Little did I know, that someone was watching me....
