**Alex’s POV**
I reached the beach just as the sun started to set and ran to the plant by the water stone. The night was starting to get chilly and my jacket was not the warmest. I could only imagine how cold the water was.
I knelt down by the plant and reached out to grab one of leaves when a hand gripped mine from the water. I froze and watched as the rest of the body roused to the surface. It was Meri.
"That’s not smart Alex."
"What do you mean it’s not smart? You told me I could use it on them, so I am." I stated as I drew my hand away from her.
She sat down on the sand next to me and stared at me silently. Her long dark hair covered her back and circled her making her already pale skin look even paler, and made her eyes look lighter than normal.
"What did he say that made you lose your train of thought?" She asked as she stared at me. I looked down, not wanting to look at her eyes.
"It’s not exactly what he said; it’s really what he did. I understand now what you meant by the music. James must have realized that he still loved us, even though he liked being here." I stated. As I spoke I started drawling on the sand with my finger.
"Do you know yet why your brother came here in the first place?" She asked as she watched me. I shrugged.
"I don’t even know how old he was when he came here. For all I know he could have come here when he fought with Papa, but that wouldn’t make sense really since he must have been here more than two weeks in order to gain Pan's trust." I replied, looking up.
Meri gave off a faint smile.
"He was here for almost a week, which is pretty long for someone compared to the normal world. You do realize that time flies down there unlike here." She replied.
"Maybe when I'm done here the war will be over and my family, well most of my family will return." I replied halfheartedly.
"Maybe." She replied. We sat there in complete silence for a while until I started moving my hand toward the plant again.
"I said NO Alex!" Meri replied a little angry as she slapped my hand away again.
"Why not?" I replied, starting to get angry myself.
"Because, you can only use this plant once. If you use it now for no real reason, then not only will everyone get angry at you after they wake up, but also you will not have any defense afterwards." Meri replied.
This changed my mind. I sat for a moment in thought and Meri continued to stare at me.
"You better get going before Pan realizes you have been gone for so long." She finally replied. I stood up and started heading to the forest but Meri stopped me.
"Pan already knows you are on the beach, you might as well come back with fish so that you don’t seem so suspicious. She called out. I froze.
"Pan knows where I am all the time?" I asked. Meri nodded.
"But I have to change that, or else he might find out.." I said a little nervously. I turned to see Meri showing a big smile, showing her teeth which did not exactly comfort me.
She took off one of the many necklaces from her neck and held it out to me.
"For you" She stated simply. I walked towards it but then stopped.
"Sorry to disappoint you, but I don’t wear jewelry. It’s not really my thing.."
"Oh just keep it! It will hide your trail so that Pan will never be able to track you. But don’t wear it yet. If you do, then Pan will notice. You might want to start wearing it when he is trying to kill you or something like that." She replied, cutting me off.
Without another word, I grabbed the necklace and placed it in my pocket.
"Thanks Meri." I replied with a smile. She nodded and turned back to the water and went under.
***Few hours later***
The boys were devouring the fish I cooked. Even Pan did not object to the fish when I served it. He actually seemed surprised that I decided to cook fish.
"Why did you choose fish tonight?" He asked as he sat down next to me with his third helping.
"Today I was supposed to train you all in the water. So I thought it would be a little funny to make you fish food since I expected at least one of you to become fish food." I replied. Pan rouse one of his eyebrows at me giving me a glare and I just shrugged.
"I'm heading to bed." I replied and stood up. I started walking toward the end of the camp when I felt a bunch of wind whip past me, making me turn around. The rest of the boys were already on their feet with their daggers and clubs. Pan stood up as well and just looked around. He then stopped and smiled.
"Looks like our fairy is back" He replied, still smiling.
Just then a bright light appeared in the middle of the camp making me turn away. When I looked back I saw two people standing where the bright light used to be.
Tinkerbelle and Emmy.
"Who the hell.."
"Emmy!" I yelled, cutting Pans remark short and ran straight at her, tackling her into a hug.
"You know her?!" Pan asked as he walked over to her. His face showed that he was not happy to have another visitor on the island.
"Pan, Can I speak to you." Tink asked, stepping in front of myself and Emmy.
"You!" I demanded staring right at Tink. She turned around and started walking as far from me as possible.
I started toward her but Emmy grabbed my arms and whispered
"Not yet, Let me explain." During all of this, Pans face turned from anger to content. He seemed to enjoy my anger toward Tinkerbelle.
"Sure Fairy, if you want to talk then let’s go." Pan replied with a smile. He then turned into thin air, and Tinkerbelle did the same. That was the last time I saw them that night.
"Come on Emmy; let’s get going toward my camp." I stated.
"Lower your weapons boys; she is just a friend, not an enemy." I demanded as I walked, while dragging Emmy along into the crowed of armed Lost boys.
They nodded and let us threw.
When we reached the tree house I rounded on her.
"What the hell were you doing, coming here with Tinkerbelle? How did you meet her? I asked, rounding on her. Emmy just finished climbing the stairs, and already looked exhausted.
"This is where you live?" She asked, looking around.
"Yes, now answer me Emmy." I replied shortly. I crossed my arms and glared at her. Emmy walked over to my bed and sat down.
"Tink is still on your side, and is still in on the plan." She replied.
I stared at her. "What? How is that possible? She pretty much told Pan my plan." I answered back.
"No, she only told him the first part of it. She did not tell him the rest." Emmy replied staring at me.
She looked terrible. Her hair was no longer nice and curly, but instead all dirty and tangled. Her face had dirt marks all over it and her eyes were red shot, like she lacked sleep.
"What happened to you Emmy?" I asked quietly as I sat by the bed.
She gave a small laugh. "Let’s just say that my old boss was not so happy to see me in her store in the middle of the night." She replied with a smile.
"What were you doing back there?" I asked
"Making a fake book to replace your book from James." She replied with a smile again. I stared at her.
"You brought the book?" I asked, my voice becoming a little louder.
"I brought both books. One of them, Tink has and will most likely give the book to Pan either today or tomorrow. I have the original book, and Tink used her magic to disguise it for me." She replied nervously.
I stared at her for a moment. "Where is it?" I asked.
She stood up and took out from her pocket a small box that was made of silver. She placed it in my hand.
"What on earth is that?" I asked staring at it.
"Your book. It just got a makeover for the time being." Emmy replied with a small smile.
"If Pan finds this, then what are you going to tell him it is, and why you have it in your pocket?" I asked.
"I will tell him that it is something valuable to me that kills off demons when they touch it, so I will warn him not to touch it." She replied smirking as she sat back down on the bed. I gave her back the mini box and sat down next to her.
"You up for a little training tomorrow?" I asked, staring at her with a smile on my face.
"I swear if you kill me tomorrow so help me Alex, I will come back in ghost form and annoy you for the rest of your life." She replied.
I laughed
"Very well then." I replied
