four. more hours

"Can you pass me a wrench?" Michael asked, yawning soon after, eyes focused on the broken generator. Aaran passed the tool--or at least what she thought was the tool--and let off a yawn, herself.

The blond gave her a look once he realized the tool she handed over, which was a screwdriver, a chuckle leaving his lips.

"You must be tired." He said, passing it back to the girl then wiping his hands on his, already dirty, sweatpants.

Aaran groaned, a ghost of a smile on her lips, as she playfully snatched the screwdriver from his hand.

Yes, she was very tired.

One of those reasons were the boy next to her but the other one was the fact that she wasn't in the comfort of her own bed.

Like, yeah, she enjoyed cuddling with the playful boy and all, really enjoying his roaming hands and the way his lips felt on her skin.

But, no. She wanted to sleep in her bed. The bed that's memory foam and not resting atop of springs, like Michael's own.

So, putting the two together created a recipe for lack of sleep and slight grumpiness.

Which was on full display that morning in his basement.

"Yeah, thanks to you." Aaran said, full of attitude, loudly shuffling through his tool box. Michael held back a laugh as he furrowed his brows at the girl.

"Thanks to me? I don't remember you stopping me when I started tickling you." The blond started, reaching over to prod at her side. Aaran's anger subsided and soon she was giggling, dodging his finger.

He giggled along with the girl, totally forgetting how both dirty and greasy his hands were.

Aaran noticed and her eyes widened. "Mike, your hands!" She screeched, ducking his oily fingers but he ignored the girl.

He grabbed her and pulled her backside to his front. She wiggled in his grasp. "I didn't hear you complaining when I started giving you that massage." Low in her ear he uttered those words and it brought a tingle down her stain, despite his gross fingers.

They were anything but gross last night.

Might've been nasty but certainly not gross.

Aaran bit at her bottom lip to prevent grinning. Michael continued, giving the space behind her ear a soft peck.

"Didn't hear too much when I was kissing you, either." He said against her skin, holding her waist. Aaran melted at the touch of his lips, her mind going blank and mouth agape. Soft gasps escaping her folds.

The girl thought it was kind of weird how close she managed to get with her neighbor, seeming oddly clichè if you asked her.

But that's the thing, with Mike, everything just kind of happened. Like the saying 'go with the flow', that's what they were doing.

Going for what felt natural.

It was natural to respond with flirting by flirting.

It was natural to cuddle someone back when they cuddle you.

It was natural to make noises of pleasure when someone was kissing you.

So, naturally, she went along with whatever happened.

It beat being alone, cold, with no one to hold in an empty house.

Michael smirked at the effect he had on this pretty girl, the way her body naturally gave into his touch.

He loved it. Not just the way she responded to his hands and lips but everything.

The fact that she's over his house, sleeping in his bed, eating the food he made, feeding Max, gave him a satisfaction only being on top of the world could top.

The being able to keep her warm in more ways than one; not just physically but physically.

Just to make it short, Michael was happy.

The boy wished the blizzard lasted longer than the expected few days.

Just so he could be with Aaran a little while longer.

Michael pulled away from the girl, still holding her by the waist and resting his chin on her shoulder.

"You can go upstairs if you'd like." He said, rocking the girl back and forth.

Aaran closed her eyes and rested her head against his cheek.

"You trying to get rid of me because I keep passing the wrong stuff, huh?"

"What? No--Aaran." Michael chuckled, shaking his head. The girl let off a titter then angled her head at the boy.

"I'd rather you be right where you are." Michael added, finding her hands and giving one a squeeze. Aaran blushed once again, giving the boy a kiss on the cheek.

"You sure? I could stay down here."

"Nah, M'good. Just leave the flashlight." He replied, removing himself from the girl. Aaran nodded, passing the item over to the boy.

"It'll give you time to check in on your parents." Michael stated, glancing back at the busted generator.

Aaran's eyes grew wide as the thought kicked it that wow she didn't call her parents and tell them anything.

The girl groaned and smacked her forehead. Michael turnes to face her.

"I completely forgot about them." She said truthfully, biting at her bottom lip.

The blond tittered then shrugged. "No big deal. You were only hooking up with your neighbor." He said jokingly, making the girl toss a nail his way.

Aaran gave him a unit but it broke into a smile at the sound of his giggling.

Again, so hot yet so cute.

"Shut up and work on that thing so we won't freeze." Aaran said before stepping out the basement and leaving the boy alone.

Michael smiled to himself and turned back to hopefully fix the old generator.

Aaran rushed upstairs to his room, disregarding Max's whining for attention, to get to her phone.

It completely slipped her mind, calling her parents.

But that's what being with Michael did to you.

"Aaran, oh my goodness! Are you okay? Did the lights go out?" Asked her panicked mother. Aaran giggled a bit at the tone of her voice then nodded.

"Yes it did, mom but relax I'm a big girl."

"I know, sweetie. I can't imagine what you're going through right now." Alice added, making the girl playfully roll her eyes.

Little did they know.

"Where are you now? Are you home?" Her father chimed in. Aaran smirked and shook her head.

"I'm warm and in bed right now, guys. I asked the neighbor for some help, though." The girl replied, taking a seat at the edge of the boy's queen-sized bed.

She couldn't see but her parents held a hand to their hearts and mouthed 'thank you' to the ceiling.

"Oh, that's so nice of them to do that. I need to give them a thank you card. Did they help much?" Alice said through the phone. The girl twisted to the bed, biting at her bottom lip and grazing the sheets with a hand.

"Yeah, they really helped." Aaran blushed, grinning as her parents replied.

"Good. Well, I'm just glad you're safe, baby girl. They did say the blizzard was blowing over soon." Her father said, making her brows come together and smile drop. "Yeah, they said maybe four more hours and the roads would be safe to travel."

Her phone nearly slipped out of her hand as she stared at the ground in disbelief.

"Isn't that wonderful? We'll be there in no time." Alice chuckled, telling the girl they will call when they're on the way before saying their 'love you's' and hanging up.

Aaran released the phone and it dropped to the bed with a soft thud.

She just couldn't believe that in four more hours, she wouldn't be able to cuddle with Michael anymore.

Wouldn't be able to feel his lips on her skin.

Wouldn't be able to keep her up though she wanted to sleep.

Wouldn't be able to feel his hands all over her body.

Wouldn't be able to be with Michael, really.
