Chap. 28 - Memories of the Past.

Meanwhile, in a place far removed from any apparent conflict, a colossus rested on its administrative throne, surrounded by thousands of documents and files that had to be reviewed by its own eyes. There, in the distant kingdom of Ultramar, in a quiet and modest room in Macragge, the avenging son of the emperor unleashed a pitched battle with numbers so that the Empire of humanity could still resist in this chaotic millennium.

No one dared to interrupt their work, but there is news that must be addressed urgently regardless. The emperor's son, the primarch Robute Guiliman, looked up as soon as he felt the door to his office open, Catus Sicarius himself being the one who would approach his father's seat with a rather worried face.

Guilliman: - What is happening, Catus? -

Cat:- My lord, I bring you a report from the Calixus crusade. -

Guilliman sighed deeply. It was not common for a captain of his legion to come personally to give him a simple report, but his experience told him that it would not be anything good.

The avenging son stretched out his hand with regret, accepting the manuscripts that his son carried in his hands. He leaned back in his chair as comfortably as he could, and with the classic expression of complete lack of emotions that characterized him, he began to read.

Despite the words written on the paper in his hands, Guilliman showed no expression. I turned the pages as if it were just another boring report, but the reality was very different. When the primarch stopped reading he said nothing, he simply rested his hand on the rest of his chair and rested his head on it, going deep into his thoughts.

Catus said nothing. He knew that when his father acted like that he was quite angry, and with good reason, but he also knew that he was thinking of some way to remedy such a disaster. And after several minutes, his wait turned out to be correct.

Guilliman: - This is getting out of hand. -

Cat:- My Sir? -

Guilliman: - Every day there are more threats that threaten the Empire. And if before we were in water up to our necks. This new Ork warband will likely be the final blow for this faltering order to collapse under its own weight. -

Cat:- What are we going to do, my lord? Our forces are spread throughout the galaxy. -

Guilliman: - We don't have many options, captain. We will have to ask for help. Accompany me. It will be quite a tedious trip. -

Captain Catus had hundreds of questions, but he knew his primarch enough to know when to ask them and when not to. And from his angry face he could understand that it was better to follow his orders without asking too much why.

He knew that wherever they were going would not be very far, as the primarch prepared to go towards the hangars, using a small warship manned by no more than ten people and did not even have an escort. With any luck, they wouldn't even have to leave the Ultramar realm, and fortunately, their expectations were met.

The route that said ship followed was very strange, even for Catus himself, who knew the kingdom of Ultramar like the back of his hand, or so he thought. Well, the captain's surprise was indescribable when they saw a world a few light years from Macragge himself. A beautiful green world that the captain had never seen with his own eyes.

The huge ship did not descend towards the surface. Instead, the primarch himself used a simple shuttle in which he could barely enter given his imposing height of four meters, accompanied only by Catus himself and the pilot. And after passing through the planet's atmosphere, both the space marine and the simple human could not hide their amazement at seeing such a beautiful place.

That place was a paradise, a huge Western garden that stretched for miles and miles over the horizon. From the ship, you could see the endless rice fields and the simple homes where the very few humans who lived on such a planet resided.

The ship descended on a plain after the command of the primarch, and he wasted no time in descending and walking along a colorful rock path towards what looked like some kind of monastery in the mountains of ancient Japan.

The primarch entered the peaceful place followed by his captain, his heavy footsteps being the only thing that interrupted the intoxicating silence. The humans they met on their way were very serene, and did not hesitate to bow before the Lord of Ultramar before continuing on their way. Finally, they arrived at what looked like a temple, which to Catus' surprise, was guarded by two Astartes carrying very peculiar swords at their waists. Swords that the ultramarine had never seen.

The captain was surprised when he saw those two Astartes bow their heads when they saw the primarch, as he expected a kind of more noticeable show of respect, but his surprise was great when Guilliman himself did exactly the same towards them. Did his father show respect towards these simple Astartes who did not even deign to say a few words to them? Impossible. Or so the captain wanted to believe. But seeing how his father entered the temple without saying anything about it, he could do nothing but try to keep up with him.

The modest temple turned out to be nothing more than a mere facade. Inside, an elevator descended to the confines of the underground, where an enormous network of tunnels stretched into countless kilometers of empty cemetery-like passageways and underground chambers. The primarch wasted no time, and marched forward as if he had perfect knowledge of the place, and so he did. And quickly, he approached a huge metal door that seemed to be his final destination. But before they even entered wherever that door led, a voice behind them caught both of their attention.

?????: - I did not expect to see you again so soon, Lord Commander Guilliman. -

When Catus turned around he was visibly shocked. Behind him stood a woman with slanted eyes, a human characteristic he had only read about in ancient imperial records, dressed in what looked like a black kimono or something similar, and whose appearance was quite intimidating. Especially because of its two and a half meters in height. But without a doubt, the most terrifying thing were those modified cervoskulls that floated terrifyingly behind them. Were those even cervoskulls? They were terrifying. Catus felt a chill run through his body, but Primarch Guiliman remained as composed as ever.

Guilliman: - War's Lady Hojo Takeko. -

Takeko:- I don't want to question your authority but... Would you be so kind as to tell us the reason for your visit? -

Was this... individual questioning the Primarch of Ultramar's decisions? Catus himself couldn't be angrier about this. Not even his own children dared such an offense, and this mere... mortal dared to question the orders of the avenging son. But to his surprise, the primarch himself appeared calm and answered his question with worrying obedience.

Guillima: - The galaxy needs the return of your teacher. The empire needs it. -

Catus just wanted to burst into questions. Who was this person or... being that seemed so necessary? Everything was very confusing for him, and the little patience he had left was fading, feeling the need to urgently get an answer, but before his doubt, the long, heavy sigh of that strange woman brought him out of his thoughts.

Takeko:- He knows she won't be happy about that. -

Guillima: - I know I couldn't keep my promise. But I know you will understand the truth. -

Takeko:- You will be at your own risk. -

There weren't many things in this galaxy that could surprise a space marine, but without a doubt, seeing a bead of sweat on the primarch's face after hearing a few simple words was quite worrying.

Still, the strange woman did not say anything else, ordering her servoskulls to open the doors to let the singular duo through. The interior was quite strange for the men of Ultramar. A huge dark room adorned in incense, traditional candles and tapestries finely crafted by the hands of ancient Western culture. And right in the middle, a huge cryogenic stasis tank with a clearly definable humanoid silhouette inside.

The strange woman came to the front, and using a control panel, several valves could be heard releasing pressure, while the ice inside the capsule began to melt at an impressive speed. While all this was happening, both warriors watched in amazement as several ladies entered the room, wearing similar black kimonos, with their faces covered by a thin veil, and carrying long pieces of fine, silky fabrics in their hands.

It was then that the tank opened, letting a large amount of steam escape from its interior that made it impossible to see much further than a few meters, in addition to the fogged glass preventing us from seeing the interior. Then, to the complete amazement of Captain Catus, his primarch, the most glorious human being that existed in the galaxy before his eyes, he knelt on his knee and looked down at whoever was inside that tank of ecstasy.

Catus was not even able to assimilate what was happening, but when his sight returned to the front, he could see an imposing woman twice his size, completely naked, emerge from the inside of said capsule.

Majestic. It was what the poor captain could only think before his body gave way to the imposing figure, following his primarch in a marked reverence towards this stranger he had never seen in his life. But it was as if something inside forced him to do it. His gaze turned towards his primarch for a second, and he simply saw a serene face with his eyes closed, as if waiting for the ladies to dress his lady with all the calm in the world, and his head did not raise until he heard the words of such an impressive woman.

?????: - I feel like millennia have passed. -He said nonchalantly as he stretched every fiber of his body, causing his joints to shake in powerful bursts of bones rearranging.

It was then that Guilliman looked up, standing up being followed by his loyal captain. But Catus was astonished when he saw that the woman was half a meter taller than her master. A titan. A colossal mountain of black hair and blood red eyes. The bearing of a formidable warrior.

Guilliman: - It's good to see you again, Sister Tomoe. Primarch of the 2nd Legion. -

-------------------------------------------END OF THE 1st SEASON-- ----------------------------------------

Okay. This is the part where the fans grab their flamethrowers and declare me a heretic. But don't worry, I'm not going to break the entire Warhammer 40k universe without a logical explanation. So put away the wooden crosses for now. He he.

And don't panic. This won't be like Game of Thrones that will take me a year to update. I'm only doing this for an organizational reason. It's more to bring some order to the story. The next chapters will not take long to arrive, and will be published in this same list.
