Tywin Lannister I
"Have you heard the news?"
Blue eyes locked gaze with a mirror image.
"And what news would that be?"
Her lips moved in question. Her Lord Tywin Lannister handed her a parchment that had come earlier that morning. She took the paper from his hand and read it over.
"King Robert's name day? Surely we're not attending?"
Tywin chuckled. His ward was about as enthused as he was to have such news given to him.
In the mists of Casterly Rock where they both stood Tywin and Alanna Lannister weren't known for their warmth toward others. And they were known for being the most deadly and ruthless lord and ward in all the seven kingdoms.
The Reynes of Castemere.
The fall of the Targaeryan legacy.
The restoration of House Lannister to its once former glory.
They did it all. And they did it together.
"My daughter insists I be there. As head of this family and my son-in-law being the King, it's to be expected."
Tywin stated. Alanna rolled her eyes. She was bored to death already thinking of what was to transpire for the week long name day celebration.
"Do you think he'll ask for more gold? If I hear one slip of the tongue about it I'll -- "
"Do absolutely nothing because Lannister's don't -- "
"Act like fools."
She said finishing his sentence with a small smirk to her lips. He snorted, amused with her display.
"If you were anyone else -- "
"Nobody else would dare. Except for maybe your sons. But they don't really count now do they?"
Tywin smirked as well. How could he not with a woman as cheeky as herself? He turned his attention out the window where he stood. The sea was crashing upon the waves. He stood there thinking.
"You're concerned?"
She asked feeling his emotions from where she sat. Tywin glanced over his shoulder.
"No doubt that sister of yours will be there? Cersei also wrote that Ned Stark is becoming Hand of the King."
To this Alanna looked at him with a firm gaze. Her sister? Coming South?
"Last time she came South was for the Rebellion. She's not usually one to leave home."
"Indeed. But she is Eddard Stark's ward. It's her job, just as it is yours to follow her lord."
Alanna sighed pushing herself up from her chair and made her way toward Tywin. She cupped his cheek feeling his fuzzy face beneath her fingers.
"She knows her place. Just like the rest of them do. Even Kodey knows. Kayla, especially."
She said quietly. Her eyes roaming Tywin's own looking for any doubt that he had about her words just to find none.
"You're a clever girl."
"I'm a Lannister."
Tywin for the second time today found himself amused by his ward. A woman that he found he could never grow tired of no matter what type of mood they were in that moment.
