Video Games - Romaine

**My poor 3DS, after seven years, finally realized it didn't want to do its thing anymore. But I got a new one. And with a new 3DS comes a new journey into The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. And so this chapter came to be.

Warnings: Video game violence. That's it. Enjoy.**

"Stop going so fast," Tremaine said, huddled over his boyfriend's shoulder as he watched what was taking place on his 3DS. "There was a chest back there."

"When does the fun stuff happen?" Roshan whined. "I want to find that Yuga guy and teach him a lesson."

"You have to make it through this dungeon first," Tremaine simply responded.

Roshan's player approached an ominous red door containing a large keyhole. Upon clicking on it, the character struggled to get through. The door wouldn't budge.

Roshan whined in frustration, making Tremaine giggle. "I told you," he said, "you should've looked in that chest back there," he said.

"But a new room had opened! It expects me to pay attention a little chest?"
Roshan protested.

"This part of the game is about slowing down to solve the puzzle, hun," Tremaine said. "It's not like Warcross."

Roshan shrugged. "Seems like the kind of game Emi would like," he said. "Or, she might think it's boring. But she's smart. Good at stuff like this."

Tremaine nodded and looked on as Roshan fended off a couple of bats to get back to the chest. After acquiring the key hidden inside, he rushed back to the door and opened it. His triumphant smile made Tremaine giggle.

"What's so funny?" Roshan whined, his cheeks turning pink.

"You're just cute," Tremaine answered, looking at him. "I love watching you experience this for the first time."

As Link made his way into the empty space before him, the door shut with a punctuating crash. A large, round contraption came crashing to the ground in front of him. The beast spun around as threatening music trumpeted in the background.

A corner of Roshan's mouth turned upward in a confident smirk. "Here we go," he said as if challenging the monster to do his worst.

But Tremaine could count the minutes before Link had been flung into the abyss enough times to deplete his hearts. The rapid tapping sound of the B button came to a halt as Roshan let out a colorful string of language.

"Aw," Tremaine sighed, trying not to laugh at Roshan's frustration. "Just try again."

"I let him win, of course," Roshan said, obviously lying as Ravio retrieved the weapons he had rented to Link.

"Sure, Ro," Tremaine said, kissing his cheek softly. "Are you gonna let him win this time?"

"Hell, no," Roshan answered as he restarted his journey with a determined expression.
