Thrill of First Love (Part One) - Roshan x Kento
**I just thought Roshan and Kento's relationship deserved mentioning. There will be at least three Roshan x Kento chapters. That's a trigger warning itself XD Enjoy.**
Roshan had often woken up in the middle of the night, tears staining his cheeks, the dream still fresh in his mind. He'd be back at that morning that Tremaine had said goodbye, and he would still just stand there, sorry, searching for something to say, something to say. Words fail. Words fail, there's nothing he can say.
Whatever. He obviously wasn't good enough for Tremaine. Couldn't live up to his standards. And Tremaine always wanted to win. He was with Darren now, anyway, he'd found someone that made him happier. Good for him. Roshan hoped he was happy.
But soon the feeling crept in - the undeniable heartache of feeling alone, the pestering sensation that urged him to put himself out there. Maybe he could get over Tremaine.
It wasn't long before he had his sights set on Kento. Just a couple years younger than him, the member of Team Andromeda (Shoutout to @idcifuhatekpop for correcting me) was strikingly handsome and sweet. He was also confident. Tremaine may have looked brave on the outside, but as he got more comfortable with Roshan the outer shell gradually broke down to reveal the traumatized, fearful person inside. At the time, Roshan had been willing to protect him, to stay up late into the night talking with him and cuddling with him and reassuring him that he wasn't broken. But now, Roshan thought...what if that was all an act? What if it was just a cry for attention, and Roshan had been the one that was willing to give him what he wanted?
So, Roshan reached out to Kento and they started hanging out, just as friends. He'd see where it went from there.
One evening, the two Warcross teams were out at a nightclub in Tokyo. The bass thumped the ground, lights zipping across the room in time with the music. The Riders were out in celebration of their win, thanks to their new Wildcard Emika.
A few drinks in, Roshan was approached by Kento.
"Hey Kento," he grinned, turning away from the other conversation to focus all his attention on Kento. "What's up?"
"Can I talk to you for a minute?" Kento asked seriously, meeting his eyes. His gaze flickered to Roshan's group and then back. "Alone?"
"Sure," Roshan replied, stepping away from the crowd so they had more privacy. He placed a gentle hand on the small of Kento's back to usher him along with him.
Kento smiled a little. "Roshan, I'm really glad we've been able to get to know each other better. You're...you're a really amazing person," he said.
The corner of Roshan's lips turned up in a smile. "Thanks," he said, ruffling his dark curls. "You are, too."
Kento's cheeks showed the slightest hint of blush. "I, um..." He looked down at his hands. "I was wondering if you'd want to go out to dinner, sometime?" he mumbled, rather fast, to get the question out there before he could stop himself. "Like, as a date?" Looking back up at Roshan, he braced for impact just in case this whole thing decided to crash and burn.
As they locked eyes, Roshan giggled softly. God, why does he have to be so handsome? Kento wondered as he waited for an answer.
"Kento...do you have a crush on me?" Roshan asked, cocking his head to one side.
Kento's heart did a backflip. He nodded before he could stop himself. "I mean-" he added quickly, as if his nod had been part of a sentence, "Yeah. If...if you don't feel the same way, that's okay, but..." He met his eyes again, and the words that he'd been holding back fell out. "Who wouldn't have a crush on you? You're sweet, and smart, and kind to everyone, and I just...you're the most desirable guy here."
Roshan blushed and looked down at his Converse sneakers. Then he looked at Kento agian, taking a small step closer. "I'd love to go on a date with you."
"R-Really?" Kento's eyes widened.
"Does this give you a better answer?" he asked, before leaning in and pressing his lips to Kento's.
And Kento could've fainted, then and there, but instead kissed back, his arms wrapping around Roshan's neck. His eyes fluttered shut, his heart beating like the wings of a hummingbird.
In that moment, Roshan knew he didn't have to be alone anymore. This was what he wanted. He wanted Kento, and he had him right here in his arms. Tremaine had become a thing of the past.
