. Third Person Perspective .

(Y/D/n) entered the command center and took a seat beside Ultra Magnus. She didn't look at him, just outside the window into the nothingness ahead of them.

"Did you sleep well?" Ultra Magnus asked, finding the silence uncomfortable.

"Yes." (Y/D/n) answered, her voice soft, but not as weak. Her face held no emotion, just a neutral frown on her dermas.

"Are you alright?" He asked, though sounding hesitant. (Y/D/n) paused. She took a glance at him then down at her lap.

"No, but I won't concern you with my feelings." She answered, her voice empty, almost numb. Magnus took a glance at the femme. He didn't like that answer. He's learnt well that discarding someone's feelings could only do more damage. Besides, it was only the two of them.

"It's alright if you're upset. You've clearly missed a lot." Ultra Magnus tried to give comfort. Optimus was definitely better at this than him, but he was still just trying.

(Y/D/n) smiled slightly. She looked at Ultra Magnus, then away.

"Do you believe in second chances?" She asked, her voice numb of any emotion, though her face seemed to hold a lot.

"Not particularly." Ultra Magnus answered, honestly. (Y/D/n) had been saying nothing but the truth, so he didn't want to be the one to lie. She gave a weak laugh, prompting Ultra Magnus to take a glance at her.

"I didn't either..." she hummed, "until this war came along. I had a chance to change for the better, so I took it. Not to mention a chance for equality and a better life for those after me. But of course there is no order in war, no rules, only chaos. I lost everything, but that was ok. There was still hope."

Ultra Magnus looked at her once more. A gentle smile rested on her dermas. A part of him couldn't believe she was telling him this.

"Now it feels like it's gone. Though that doesn't mean it is, right?" (Y/D/n) asked. There was a pleading look on her faceplate. "I mean, you're sitting here right next to me."

Ultra Magnus stared at her momentarily. He found himself agreeing with the way she felt. Now she turned to him for reassurance.

"You're right. It's not gone." Ultra Magnus reassures. "As long as there is us."

(Y/D/n) smiled, releasing a sigh of relief. She mumbled a thank you and continued to stare out. The silence in the room was now one of comfort.

The two passed a plethora of planets and rocks. None of which were Earth. The planet known as Earth was still a far distance away. Ultra Magnus soon left the ship in auto pilot and turned to the femme.

"How did you recognize me?" He asked, sounding like he wanted to know. (Y/D/n) did the same and turned to him, a gentle smile on her dermas.

"I've seen you with Optimus before. I never got to meet you, but Optimus always spoke very highly of you." She answered, watching the mech with curious optics.

"You knew Optimus?" He asked, (Y/D/n) nodded.

"Alpha Trion introduced us before the war even started. Optimus wanted to know what life was like for people of the lowest class, so he introduced him to me." (Y/D/n) answered. She looked at her lap once more and bit her derma. "Not the best choice really, but it was nice to make a friend."

"Why? Were you... happy with your life?" Ultra Magnus asked, finding that unrealistic, thinking back to Megatron and the reason for this war.

"Happy? No. I was content despite my position and tried to make the most of my life. There wasn't much to make of it though. I didn't want to turn into Megatron so I avoided the rage. Though I'm almost just as bad." (Y/D/n) sighed and looked back at him.

"Well, there is still every reason for caution, but you are an autobot now. You will fight like one and you will fall as one." Ultra Magnus declares, his stern tone returning stronger than before. He didn't receive the look he expected though. Usually bots would straighten up and comply.

(Y/D/n) didn't though. She smiled. A soft smile and a gentle stare. She wasn't intimidated by his tone and seemed quite happy, or content, that he'd speak to her with such tone. Though it could also have been what he said.

"Yes, sir. You're a lovely listener." (Y/D/n) complemented. "If I could do anything for you, let me know. I'm going to lay down."

(Y/D/n) rose from her seat and made her way back to the berth she had just came from. Ultra Magnus watched as she left, curious about her behavior. This femme was strange; like no one he's ever met.

He couldn't help but feel wary of his new guest. Though they did claim to be an autobot. Not to mention how their Decepticon insignia was now an autobot one. Then he thought back to the few spies he met. Their Decepticon insignias were usually just a metal plate over their real Autobot insignias. Not to mention he's never seen her before with the Autobots, in fact, he's never seen her at all.

Either way, Ultra Magnus felt conflicted. She knew Optimus Prime after all, personally. He'd have to press further to see if that was really true. Maybe just hook her up to a lie detector, but he wasn't sure if he even had one.

Whether or not he should truly test her was still a conflict inside Ultra Magnus' processor. Should he really treat her like a prisoner?
