"Um...I... I--"

"He's gone?"

(a/n before i continue again, istg i wrote Ken instead of Soarin in that first sentence omg-)

"Come with me." Tirek threw Soarin into a bag and carried him down to a dingy cave and prepared to hypnotize him, since Soarin's sense of being the opposite of him, but pretending not to was fading. He showed it in subtle signs, such as ignoring Rainbow, and talking to Tirek. 

"You can't do this to me, please." Soarin began crying, and crying while he was thrown on a royal blue sofa. He wanted Rainbow that instant but, he couldn't see her. 

"You won't be able to escape me." 

"SOMEONE! HELP ME!"

"Soarin....?"

"Rainbow, please, help me! HELLLPPPPP!" 

"SOARIN!" 

With a small shudder, Soarin opened his eyes. He saw Rainbow and Tirek walking around in a circle, and assumed that they were doing something related to him. He was the center of attention, after all- in a bad way, of course. He had a horrible nightmare but shook it off. 

"What happened to you?" Rainbow asked him with a tone of sass, but ignored his response.She went back to arguing with Tirek. She was pretty brave to be doing so.

"Tirek, don't even bother trying to get Soarin. He's on our side, why would he choose you, a villain and risk his life with you, over me, an innocent being?" Rainbow's eyes were burning from the palace, fires surrounding her. 

"You do realize that he's not okay either, right?" Tirek was being honest, but Rainbow didn't believe him one bit.

"Pffffft? If he wasn't okay, why would he be helping me?" 

The twelve footed creature roared at the pint sized Rainbow who was trying to fool him. 

"Rainbow, if you think I'm lying, there's going to be consequences. I'm being truthful and I'm only going to help you this once. You're not going to believe me, but you're gonna regret it. Have fun!" And he smiled and walked out. 

"Why is he always weird when I'm around. Sometimes, I don't understand how he even exists." 

She stood in complete darkness. The only light that seemed to be coming was the natural light from the Sun, but it wasn't enough to brighten up the room. Rainbow thought, as she went back and forth, "What have I done wrong?" 

Soarin was walking around the corner when he saw Rainbow. He tried running away from her, but.... it was too late. 

"Soarin Skies, I want to talk to you this instant."

"Yeah, give me a sec." Soarin pulled up a chair and removed the dirt underneath it. It seemed really, really, wobbly. 

"Why have you been ignoring me so much? I'm your best friend and, that isn't how a friend is supposed to behave. You're supposed to listen to me, not, not listen to me if you get my point." Rainbow's eye was twitching, but she covered her eye with her hand to prevent Soarin from getting distracted. 

"Are you interrogating me? Because that ain't my kinda jam." 

She coughed in dismay. "Soarin, do you seriously think I don't know what happened to you? I have a feeling you've been brainwashed. Come with me."

How did she guess? The thought echoed, and echoed in his brain. 

The two of them went down a long walk down to the caves, where Tirek and Soarin had coincidentally gone earlier. They [caves] smelled like a combination of mildew, slime and a day old bologna sandwiches. Pretty stinky, if you ask me. Rainbow had the eyesight of an eagle, and she was looking all over the place, while Soarin sat in a chair and was tied by the hands so he couldn't escape. His eyes looked dead, and he was practically the Mane 5 now. 

Rainbow found the big book of spells and hypnosis techniques. She was actually a pro at doing these as her grandfather was a well known magician and hypnotist. She got Tirek's hypnosis materials and placed them in front of Soarin. Humans respond to patterns, and this one was a spiral. 

She placed the circular spiral on a cardboard and she drilled a hole, and placed the drill inside. The machine span round and round, which made it a success. Rainbow then kept this machine in front of Soarin, and prayed that she would be able to fix her best friend. He was the only support she had, and if he was gone, her life was gone too.

The machine whirred in front of Soarin. Tirek's voice appeared inside his head. 

"Whatever you do, do not respond to Rainbow's stupid machine. Or you and the rainbow-haired chick will both die. Good luck."

How am I supposed to support either of you? Honestly, I wish I hadn't lived. 

"Soarin, don't say that." 

"Ugh, whatever. I'm going in."

Rainbow looked at Soarin as he stared at the machine. Nothing seemed to be happening. 

"What? I thought Tirek did the same thing? That's weird." 

She increased the speed on the hypnosis machine and said "Now this should work."

Soarin, remember what I told you. Don't focus on that goddamn thing. 

Yes, sir. 

It seemed like forever, until Rainbow gave up. She decided to go home without Soarin. He seemed to be hyperventilating but, he hid it inside. 

"If Tirek kills you, let me know." 

She felt a tap on her shoulder and looked back. "What do you want now, Soarin?" 

"Rainbow, wait. I want to tell you something. Your plan was a success. But, I need to tell you something before I, um, do something. Tirek brainwashed me, so I was acting weird. I ignored you because his voice was in my head and he told me that I can't really help you, since you know, we're supporting each other. He got mad and took me down to the caves this morning. Not literally, I felt it in a nightmare but... now that it's all done, I guess we're good?"

Rainbow had tears in her eyes. Soarin was finally okay. She went up to him and hugged him. He comforted her and told her that everything was going to be okay. Rainbow shook off her dirt covered shoes and took out a new pair from her bag. Just then, a loud footstep was heard. Tirek was back from his castle.

"So, Soarin, I see you didn't listen to me? Quit the baby huggie-wuggies and listen to me."

"Yeah, I didn't, is there a problem?"

"Rainbow girl, you have 5 minutes to get out of here. Or, I expose Soarin's little plan with me."

"You're a monster. I'm not scared of you, I'm gonna stand here."

"Okay, then, take that timebomb in the glass door and prepare for a little diversion! You and Soarin have about....3 and a half minutes to catch up." Tirek walked out of the room, locking Rainbow behind the bars. Soarin knew exactly what to do. 

"Soarin, get me out of here!!" 

"I'M TRYING!"

"DO IT FASTER! WE HAVE 3 MINUTES TO GET THIS THING INTO THE OCEAN, AND COME BACK WITHOUT BEING BLOWN UP!" Rainbow was rattling the bars, trying to get out of the about-to-get-blown up place.

"OKAY, WAIT A SECOND. I HAVE THE KEY, I JUST NEED TO- INSERT IT IN!"

"I'M WAITING!"

"UGH, THE STUPID THING ISN'T BUDGING! OKAY, YOU HAVE ONE SHOT TO DO THIS OR WE GET BLOWN UP. BLOW UP THE CAVE, WE CAN SAVE OURSELVES."

"SOUNDS GOOD."

The entrance to the cave opened after Soarin unlocked it, and in a matter of a ten second difference, the whole cave blew up. They were thrown out just in time. Rainbow's leg was bleeding badly, and Soarin's arm was bleeding too. Luckily, they were alive, which was what mattered. 

Rainbow was crying, because she was saved by the person who got brainwashed before. "Soarin...? You there?"

"I'm right here."

She ran into his arms and he didn't hug back. 

"What...."

"O-oh, you're hugging me. I didn't notice. Sorry about that."

Rainbow frowned with a smile and hugged Soarin. The two of them were definitely friends now. Inseparable. Formed such a bond that even Tirek couldn't break it. That's what Rainbow thought, atleast. But, she was wrong as always.

At around 2 in the morning, Rainbow felt Soarin leave their dorm. She saw him walk out of the dorm, and didn't question him, probably went to get water or something. He actually went to Tirek to tell him about how their plan worked. He made it very discreet. 

He walked out of the dorm, up to the castle through the shortcut he'd formed. 

Tirek was waiting for him at the entrance of his castle and he took Soarin inside. 

(soarin wtf how are you so evil wtfwtfwtf)

"So? You helped her?"

"No."

"How? Please explain, Soarin."

"Yeah, so I made it look as though we were friends, but... I created a small diversion. Since she asked me to help, I put a small gas leak in her bathroom. When she wakes up, she will be blown up to pieces, and so will her belongings."

"Hmm, pretty smart of you, Skies!"

"I know right? And I made it so discreet, it will happen the second she enters."

"I'm impressed."

"You should be."

"So, can I sleep now... or?"

"Yes, Skies. You can sleep, night."

Soarin went home to find that Rainbow wasn't there. He walked all over the place and saw that his gas leak's smell was spreading over the dorm. He walked into the bathroom and saw that Rainbow was crying. The bomb would burst in two hours. 

Walking out, his phone rang.

After six missed calls, he decided to call the number back. 

"Who are you?"

"You know me. My name is ........." and her voice trailed off in the distance.

"Oh my god... I know her- she was the one who helped me out of that horrible earthquake! Let me ask her about Rainbow so I can think of more ways to.... y'know, kill her. He grinned evilly.

(this is the part where i go off wattpad for six days and not do any shit)

He ran off to Tulip Sparkle's place. Tulip was Twilight's once-evil, now heroic sister. 

"Soarin! My old childhood friend. How are ya?"

"I see you remember my name. I'm good, but this is no time to chat. I need your help with something."

"What, finding a way about proposing to Dash? You're all over her, it's so disgusting."

"No! I hate her, I put a gas leak in her bathroom to kill her, you know. I need your help with something. More ideas-"

"YOU... PUT A GAS LEAK IN RAINBOW'S BATHROOM????? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU????"

"Nothing....?"

"Soarin, I may be able to help you with ideas for adventure, and daredevilish stuff, but this is too far. I'm going to wake her up, I don't know what happened to you, but it's weird as heck and I don't mind if we end this friendship. I'm done." 

"Tulip- wait-"

She stormed off in a hurry.

Rainbow was fast asleep on her bed after what happened in the middle of the night, and she didn't seem to be getting up. Tulip knocked on the door as loud as she could. Rainbow finally woke up and saw Tulip in the door. She stretched and walked off her white bed, which had a 

"What are you doing here? You hate me, and now you just show up at my place?"

"I'm here to help you. Soarin set off a gas leak in your bathroom and he's trying to kill you. I'm really not lying. Here, I'll help you get it out."

"You better not fool me here."

"I won't, I promise."

Soarin went over to Tirek's after mourning over what he'd done to Tulip.

"Why are you here? I thought you said you were sleeping."

"We have a small problem...."

After explaining, Tirek said, "Remember that spare one I'd sent to you? Go home and get that one to her as well."

"But won't that mean-"

"Just do it."

"Okay, then." 

" I appreciate your efforts and all, Soarin, but please focus on this this once. Be discreet, or you could go to jail."

"So?"

"Ugh, forget it."

Rainbow and Tulip moved the whole kerosene gas leak machine out of the bathroom in time. Soarin walked in simultaneously and he saw Rainbow. She walked up to him and gave him the evil eye. Before he could speak, he was slapped twice.

"What the hell?"

"What do you want, Soarin? You lied to my face twice, and you're probably going to apologize again. What are you, some... beggar? Get out of my face."

"Woah, woah, woah, I'm packing my stuff, I'm outtie." Soarin was embarassed but held it in.

"Shut the hell up. You have five minutes to get out of here, or I'm telling Celestia everything. And by that, I mean EVERYTHING." Rainbow was comforted by Tulip who shook her head in dismay at him.

Soarin looked like an idiot, just standing and staring at the two women who couldn't trust him at all.

He went out of the dorm and shut the door behind him. Rainbow heard a bang and she went outside.

"Tulip.... wanna come with me?"

"Uh, sure."

The two of them stealthily went out when Rainbow's phone rang. It was from Celestia.

"Hello?"

"Rainbow, I'm just checking on you to see if you're okay. Are you doing fine? Are all of you okay?" There was a sense of worry in Celestia's tone.

Rainbow didn't know what to say. She was really confused, and her mind was dazed after all she'd been through. She decided to lie.

"Yeah.... I'm fine. I have proper health and a proper mind, everything is great."

"How's Soarin?"

Soarin. The name struck her like a thunderbolt.  The guy who seemed alright,  but worked for Tirek simultaneously.  That's just bullshit to me.

"He's fine too, I guess."

" Can I speak to him?"

"One second, he was outside."

She looked around, he was nowhere to be found. 

"He's not there..."

"Call me back, Rainbow. We've all had a tough day. Get some rest."

Rainbow went to her room and turned out the lights. She slept under the covers, thinking about Soarin, the stars glistening under her eyes.

1) why didn't i make the 3000 word limit?
2 why was this published so late?

A 1. well, i was procrastinating a lot. in the end i reached 2600 words, but under some heavy editing,  i think that it got drastically reduced.  so i apologize. 

2) this was published so late because i wanted to make big chapter for a big birthday!

anyway, yeah hope y'all doing good because- whatever.
