(Historic Event: The 1918 Flu Pandemic, otherwise known as 'The Spanish Flu')

The flu pandemic of 1918,

Was helped by a war,

And broke the feeling of invincibility,

We had managed to build.

It killed many,

On the scale of the world wars,

That came before and after.

And even then,

It killed the young.

It killed the healthy.

It killed the strong.

In fact,

It killed so many,

That we ran out of coffins.

And now here we are,

Where history and the present rhyme.

We must remember, those who died.

We must remember, those who die.
