Chapter 23

Clara

The young woman was really excited for finally being able to come back to her family after such an adventure rich of emotions. The only unknown would have been the other two!

<<Alright guys, I suppose you will have to find something to do while I am away. Remember to try not killing each other in the meanwhile and do not make me worry.>> She told them with a shining smile on.

And before the two of them could reply, she asked Lillybeth to open a portal.

<<Good, see you soon. I will take care of a few things and then I came back to save the world, alright?>>

<<Remember to hold your hands out.>> The priestess added, greeting her in her own way.

Once listened, Clara jumped in there to come back home and to update everyone about the news. Anyway, she didn't think a surprise was waiting for her!

Like the last time, the landing wasn't so good, falling with the elegance of a cannonball on the sofa in her living room. (Thank goodness she avoided the hard floor!)

<<Anybody here? Mum, dad, Cri?>>

"Where the Hell is everyone?!" She thought, looking around.

<<Bah, I put my life at risk and my family goes walking.>> She mumbled funnily.

<<Ok, I will take advantage to take a long bath, a fine meal and then I could go to university.>> She told cheerful to no one in particular.

And after two hours to enjoy this peace and to think about the last events, she got ready to come back to old and "normal" life, even if not for much time!

In the meanwhile, she called her family only to be sure that they hadn't been teleported to another dimension too! Luckily, despite expectations, everyone was still in the same universe! Her parents were going shopping, while her brother was busy with her last "muse" as he liked defining them. They agreed they would have met at home in the evening and she would have had to tell them the last news.

"I hope they have a lot of free time because I think it will take a while. I wouldn't know neither where to start, not to talk about the fact that this fact is absurd from the start, but, for everyone's mental health, it would be better that I try being the most serious as possible. Now, it's better to go. Since I have to get some books, I will stay in the library to study a little, even because it's not very fruitful doing it on a super sexy and dark dragon back who doesn't stop distracting me; not to talk about the other one, who doesn't do anything for making the situation easier for me. Oh God, I don't want to think to the dangerous trend my life is sensing, at least, for the next three hours!" The girl shouted in her mind, walking with giant steps trying releasing stress, even if it wouldn't have been enough an intense one-month gym session either!

Except the "usual" problems, Clara felt a strange and unpleasant feeling oppressing her, like a danger or something similar lurking in the shadows.

"I must stop thinking like that, this is my fantasy that keeps pulling a fast one, like usual more or less." She thought, laughing while heading to the library for an intense day of study and relax (Packed lunch included)!

<<Is it really necessary a strike of the public transportation right when I'm back!>> The girl complained, railing against the bad weather, indeed, an epic downpour!

"How is it possible such a weather when until a little ago it was a sunny day?!" She kept asking herself definitely too loudly, attracting some pedestrian's attention on her.

<<Well, is now forbidden complaining about the weather?>> She asked huffy against one of the "accusers". They obviously had an umbrella and a rain coat with them, after all, who wouldn't think taking with him all of this stuff on a sunny day?!

And finally, with her hot off the press books ( and moreover, dry), she entered in the large and modern library, even if the air-conditioning was starting giving her some little problems due to her wet clothes. Luckily, the damage was not too expanded, limiting to let her feel an uncomfortable cold feeling; on the other hand, however, her hair was not so lucky, since they were dropping! She thought to return the books and to go to the bathroom to try cleaning herself up for not looking like a swamp monster! That day there weren't so many people, but since it was still summer it was comprehensible; probably, most of her peers were at the seaside, enjoying free ride, while she spent her days sweaty, sleeping where she could with monsters trying to kill her. Anyway, as much she complained, she wouldn't have exchanged her "crazy" life for another one.

"Ok, more or less, it should be better." She thought, looking herself in the mirror. Her hair didn't seem anymore an undefined tangle and she had even managed to reshape her mascara, at least, she stopped looking like a panda! But right when she was getting ready to go back, a bright light that she had started to know really well appeared in front of her, followed by a body or an object's thud.

"Please God, make it not be what I think..." She begged with all her strength, even knowing who she would have found behind the door!

<<What the Hell are you doing here?!>> She shouted against the obscure dragon who had thought to pay a visit to her in the ladies' toilette in such a "melodramatic" way. How come could she explain that the presence of a winged being in there?

<<Hey, hey, before whatever you want to say, you must listen to me.>> He stated without the slightest modesty, but she didn't have the time to reply either that another thud was heard, this time so loudly to turn off the lights.
