Personality - Marian is rather on the quiet side of this rebellion. Not just due to the valuable information she gathers. The Lady of Fitzwater has always been slightly standoffish and rather cold seeming. The only person that knows of her flaring temper is Robin of Loxely, her Robin Hood. In fact, it's quite surprising that she can keep her short temper leashed some days, though it has everything to do with her upbringing in the court. She is caring though and appreciates the risks others take. Perhaps her closest confidante is her handmaiden,  true friend.

Original Importance - Maid Marian is the heroine of the Robin Hood legend in English folklore, often taken to be his lover. She was the subject of at least two plays before 1600, but neither she nor any other female character is known to have featured in the medieval versions of the legend. Her history and circumstances are obscure, but she always commanded high respect in Robin’s circle for her courage and independence, as well as her beauty and loyalty. For this reason she is celebrated by feminist commentators as one of the earliest strong female characters in English literature.
