~ 9 ~
Hau sat on the dark beach of Hau'oil city. The ocean's wave and music from the carnival flowing through his head. He smiled looking out at the beach, every now and then hearing Pokémon cries. The night was so beautiful, it reflected perfectly off his eyes. Footsteps in the sand were hear, not far behind Hau. They stopped once right beside Hau. The person sat down next to Hau. Moon smiled at Hau, beginning to mess up ith the sand. "Why aren't you up there with the rest of us?" Lillie and Sun waited at the sidewalk.
"I like staring at the night sky."
"You can stare at the night sky all you want with us. Just don't get lost."
"Psh, I know this city like the back of my hand."
"Then come on!" Moon grabbed onto her friend's hand pulling him away to the lively fest. Vibrant colors filled the streets, people could surely hear the music from Ikki Town. The four friends roamed the street visiting every stand they could. "Oh! I heard they have amazing ice cream!" Moon cried pointing at a stand. There were workers, handing multiple people cones of icecream, some people receiving a bowl. She turned to all of them, "Do you guys want some?"
"Heck yeah!" Sun shouted punching the air with his fist. Lillie nodded, obviously not as pumped as Sun nor Moon was. "Hey, what about you Hau?"
They all looked at Hau now, "Not really. I'm more of a malasada type." Hau smiled. It wasn't his usual smile though.
"What's wrong Hau?"
"What do you mean? I'm fine." Hau forced a small laugh.
"I'll go get you ice cream, that'll cheer you right up. Come on guys." Sun and the rest rushed off to the stand, leaving Hau alone. Surrounded by those he loved, and yet he felt lonely. He sat down on a bench while waiting for his friends. The tanned boy looked around, beginning to noticed all the couples. It was actually a ridiculous amount of couples. There were other nearby benches where couples sat, feeding one another and giggling with each other. Hau thought it was cute, trying to refrain from watching them too long. He looked down at his phone. Seeing no new notification he put his phone back in his pocket looking around again as there was nothing to do but wait for his friends to return. There was a line, so it might take a while.
"Hey," Hau's head turned up to a somewhat familiar voice, "I didn't really have anything better to do.." He looked behind him to be greeted with Gladion(surprise-surprise).
Hau smiled at him, fully turned around now. "I'm glad you came." (c; jkjk)
"Why's that?" Gladion asked sitting by him. Hau shrugged. He really didn't know why he was happy. He didn't even know Gladion all that well. Maybe that was the reason why. Who knows?
"Have you bought anything?"
"No... I don't want to use my money on unecessary things." Gladion told him, "Plus, it's not like I have a lot of money to spare."
Hau giggled, "Don't worry, I'll get you something to eat."
"You don't have to. I'm not hungry."
"Sure you a–"
"Hey!! We got the ice cream." The three friends came back with treats in their hands, Sun had two cones.
"Gladion?" Moon questioned.
"Who?"
"What are you doing here?" Moon almost seemed uneasy with Gladion around. Gladion rolled his eyes at her annoyed, deciding not to answer her, he stayed quiet. Even though Hau would sometimes annoy the hell out of him— he was much more comfortable with Hau than he was with the others. Lillie of course he was comfortable with too. ".. Okay then.. Uhm.. Want some ice cream?"
Gladion shook his head. Hau stood up grabbing him by the wrist, "Come on Glady." Gladion was hauled off his feet and dragged to the decent sized line of people.
Sun and the rest were left in silence. "I still have your ice cream.." Sun mumbled.
"'Glady'?" Moon asked.
"That's cute." Lillie smiled as she watched the two talking in line.
Gladion groaned, "I really don't need ice cream, Hau."
"Just try some!"
Gladion wasn't one to give in. Yet he did, and very easily too. "Fine.." He sighed.

The group of friends, now adding one more person to the group walked around staring at everything in awe. Hau gazed at a ferris wheel. His eyes lit up with the sight of the ride. "Can we go on that?!" Hau basically shouted. Moon and Sun wanted to, Gladion and Lillie on the other hand didn't want to.
"You guys can go. I'm no vert fond of..."
"Fun?" Moon joked making the group of friends laugh.
"N-no!.. I'm just.. Not that type."
"Are you going Glady?" Sun asked to earn a hard glare. "No? Only Hau can call you that? My bad." Sun chuckled nervously.
".. To answer your question, no, I'm not." Gladion crossed his arms.
"What?! But, I don't want to go alone. I know Moon and Sun will want to go together." Hau whined was they made their way to the ferris-wheel.
"Lillie? You're sure you don't want to go?" Lillie nodded.
"Glady? Please?"
"No. I hate heights..." Gladion uttered.
"Fine— I'll go alone." Hau frowned turning away from the siblings.
Gladion rubbed his temples, thinking to himself: Don't give in. Giving in, despite his fear of heights. He barely even tried. "Okay, fine... I'll go with you."
"Goodie!" Hau clapped his hands together. Pulling Gladion into the seat, of course after being let in. Before the ride could start Hau told him, "You know... You don't actually have to go if you don't want to."
Gladion shook his head. "I'm already on. Might as well stay." He protested.
The ferris wheel was slow, letting the two the chance to admire the stars glimmering in the night sky. The ferris wheel began to get abnormally slow, then it came to a complete stop. Gladion began to freak out. His breaths got shorter and more frantic by the minute. "We.. We stopped? W-why? Now? Now? Why now? We are really, really high of the ground. Oh.. Oh God I'm going to die." He said in between short breaths. Hau chuckled slightly. "You have to be kidding.." Hau's small giggles had no end. "Oh, is this amusing to you?" Gladion asked with his grip on the rail tighter. His grip was so tight, his knuckles became more white than they already were, if that was even possible.
"You're being silly. Stop freaking out."
"Easier said than done. I don't suppose one of your greatest fears is heights.." Gladion hissed at him. "I can't believe I even came. This is awful." He continued to hyperventilate. Hau sighed. Not knowing how Gladion would respond made him hesitant, but he reached his hand out placing his hand on Gladions, rather soft, hand.
"We're going to be fine.! Trust me. And come on. It isn't all bad." Hau smiled. Like always. Was there anything that could really ruin his mood? Gladion didn't pull his hand away, instead he left his hand there. He didn't really know what to do. He didn't want to keep his hand there, but at the same time he did.
"... Yeah.. Right.. I guess it isn't all bad.."
