"Well.. When I was smaller I lost my sister."

"She died..?"

"No.. She ran away.. Anyways, I only had my mom because my dad left us. My mom... She..isn't exactly mentally stable.. She was willing to hurt Pokémon for 'scientific studies'. One Pokémon in particular. Type:Null, so I took it and ran away with it." Gladion's voice grew soft as did his expression when he spoke to me about everything, "I was alone. I had no money, I had nothing. Then Guzma and his grunts came along. Guzma took me in... He cared for me... Gave me money and food. They were the only people I had to turn to. Sometimes I felt isolated from the rest of the world. Do you know...how awful it feels?" He asked, but before I could make a reply, he continued, "It feels so fucking awful..." his eyes began to swell up with tears, "to be surrounded by so many people... And still feel alone?"

"I.."

"Because I know all about that. It's all too familiar. Sometimes I still feel like that.." By now, tears rolled down his cheeks. I knew Gladion wasn't comfortable with hugs, but seeing him cry for he first time made me want to cry! I took my sandles off sitting with my knees on his bed now facing him.

"Gladion," he looked at me briefly when I pulled him into a tightly hug, Gladion turned his body towards me taking his shoes off too, wrapped his arms around me letting small sobs escape his mouth, "it's okay Glady... Maybe you won't have to feel this way anymore with us."

"U-us?"

"Moon, Sun, Lillie. Everyone."

".. That's it Hau. That's the thing. There were loads of people.... at the carnival... I was surrounded by your friends... And other people... But I still felt alone..." Gladion hardly got the sentence out between all the crying. His grip on me started to loosen, eventually his arms started to slip down mine. He softly grabbed into them.

"What about–"

"You..."

"What about me..?"

"You were the only person... That I felt comfortable with besides Lillie.." I felt like asking about his relationship with her, but that wasn't what was important right now. "You were the only other person...Why? I don't know.. So don't ask me. I don't know..." I rubbed his back gingerly trying to comfort him the best I could.

"I thought you hated me."

"'Hated' is a strong word. It was something like that at least. I disliked you. And yet even though you thought I hated you, you continued to bother me. You tried being my friend.... Somehow you succeeded."

I laughed a little. He go of me, finally looking me in the face. "Thanks, Hau.."

"Don't mention it." He put his head against my chest. It was really weird if I'm honest. Gladion wasn't really... Comfortable with this type of stuff, but he was bummed out now because I asked.. Plus, it's not like I forced him to lay on me. I leaned back on his pillows assuming it was alright, which it was, and he stayed there. Laying on me. He burried a part of his face in my shirt beginning to snore faintly.

I too actually fell asleep, but woke up to the sound of something vibrating. Gladion shot awake, taking his phone from his pocket. His face was lit up with the screen's brightness. Then he answered, "Hello?"

"What are you talking about?"

"That's ridiculous, you're ridiculous. I don't."

"No, I will not do that! That's.. disgusting!" Gladion's face turned a light shade of pink, growing so dark it was turning red now.

"What?!! I said I wasn't going to do it! That's that."

"... Well, yeah... but that doesn't mean anything!"

"Honestly."

"I don't care. I'm not doing that. Whatever.." He hung up putting his phone back in his pocket.

"What was that?" I asked.

"Nothing." He told me with a crooked smile. Even if it was forced, it was still nice to see Gladion smile. I'm probably one of the very few to get to see his rare smile. "You should get going."

"Yeah. Guess I should." I forced a chuckled trying to hint I didn't actually want to leave.

"I'll see you around."
