Chinese History Time!: So now Jin's capital had been sacked by the five nomadic tribes, so the emperor along with the rest of the Han Chinese all fled to the south where Eastern Jin continued. Eastern Jin eventually was replaced with the Liu Song dynasty which started the Northern and Southern dynasty one of the, if not the messiest dynasty in Chinese history. 

Dear diary, 

I came back, but I failed. 

We couldn't hold them out nor evacuate the city before they broke in. God I can still hear the screams ringing in my ears. 

Yao hasn't woken up yet, he's been tossing and turning a lot lately, I hope he'll be awake and well soon. 

Right now as I'm writing this we're fleeing to the south with what's left of our people.

God I hate writing while being in a chariot with ten other people. As you can tell my writing is unbearably messy today. But I couldn't just leave the pregnant ladies to walk thousands of miles while I, a grown man sit in the chariot. 

The only reason I'm still in this damn chariot is because while trying to save an infant during the war, I my horse was shot down and it kind of crushed my right leg. 

Well I wouldn't actually call it a war. It was more like a one sided beat down. 

My boss was quite mad at me for my careless demeanour when I came back. If Yao was awake he would've sneaked some food in for me during that week. 

It's not that I don't care it's just that I can't come back looking like I've scared stiff. The emperor would just laugh at me. 

Since his ancestor, Sima Yi kinda overthrew Cao Cao who I picked to govern China. 

According to Confucian idea I should never bow even to the Si ma family even if it costs my life. But do I care?

No.

That old man never liked me anyways. He's probably just scared of my eyes. 

And guess who was locked up for a week for spitting on our new boss? None other than our goody two toes Yao. 

Well I mean he was never locked up because I took his punishments for him... 

I...It's not that I'm scared he'll get sick or anything! I was just really full that week and decided some diet would help. It's all for my health and my health only! 

Anyways, I can feel the end of this dynasty coming real soon. How do I know you ask. 

Well, you know how a woman can always feel when her period's gonna come? Yeah that's kinda the same for us except we can always feel when a dynasty's gonna end. 

Wow, that was a weird but kinda funny comparison.

What thought I didn't have a sense of humour? If I didn't how was I supposed to get over all the prejudice and torment from others? 

Hmm what was that? Am I going crazy? Yup, probably am. 

Well, whatever happens to us will be revealed in the near future right? Right now I just have to wait this all out.
