Low Lights

Low lights of London, lighting the way
His hand enlaces with hers, there to stay
Eyes squint at their perfect figure
As I try not to slowly wither,

The cold of the winter is repelled by
Their warm embrace, while I-I'm
Left shivering as dawn takes place,

His lips once grazed mine
At the center of the ice rink
I thought it was sign
But it was me on the brink

The nights we spent chugging drinks on end,
The neon lights our guidance,
Exchanging thoughts and kisses
Dreams and dishes,
Realising wishes?

Alas, it ended as it started
As he was the one who doubted.
Or maybe it was me who distracted
This city fantasy might have been the ending of me
But at least it was spent with some company
