Back And Forth
Back and forth
Intensely rhythmed
From South to North
As the trumpets lulled
The sleeping baby cold
Front and back
Pulsing trombones
Floating melodies with a snack
While the wind waved the lones
Back and forth
Pumping water upstream
Ores flapping gently like a windmill
The maidens bid farewell to Jim
Tears and trembles as they left the standstill
Bittersweet joys, frozen longing
She looked back and forth
Torn, broken, grieving,
As the frigates departed the wharf
And the swans started to sing
