A Star Of Her Own

Because she was a star of her own too bright to share a throne,
A diligent pupil who didn't own a phone.

The classes were stuffed,
With unbreathable air she coughed

She prayed her stuff,
Was just about enough

Her parents were unsure,
They slogged daily to ensure
That she would never ever be poor,

She was tired and empty,
He was fiery and tempting

His words were like sugar on a tongue,
His words were like an underrated song

Yet, he was a blinding light,
While she was a rose turned white

She picked shards from her own heart,
Tearing him apart

Preventing him from forgetting the end,
And remembering the start

She gifted him a thousand words,
All sounding like screeches from a dozen birds

Because she was a star of her own, too bright to share a throne,
A diligent pupil who didn't own a phone

Divija

For everyone whos'e ever pushed someone away.

Take a leap of faith
