Nearly 3 decades ago

Before the USSR fell apart

Nothing it seems to have changed though

As an adult

I can really understand

What many cannot

Staying in the medical spa

For 2 weeks

The food wasn't good

7 versions of the same thing

3 times a day

No variety

No seasoning

No fresh fruits

No veggies

Milk mixed with water

Socialism food

As my mom remembered

The USSR being

Why?

Because here

These treatment places

Are owned by the government

One where patients

Who pay a lot of money

Come last

There are creature comforts

But when you're not

Eating properly

Especially those that

Are unwell

It's not good

People who want

Socialism in America

Haven't a clue

To what real socialism is

I just had my first taste

Literally, in nearly 3 decades

And I can say

No, thank you

The sad part is

That there are villages nearby

With fresh fruit and veggies

That they sell for cheap

Instead of making

A profit for both

These places buy from

Other government owned

Facilities for triple the price

And we as clients

End up with the short end

Of the stick

Employees also take

The better food for themselves

So who finishes last?

We, the people, do!

Still, want socialism?
