For two years
I was one of the
Millions missing
Bedridden from
A disease
Without treatment
Or cure

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis

Is a deadly disease
That's been around
For over 80 years
And still
There isn't sufficient
Information

It's considered an
Invisible illness
Which is heartrendingly true
Because of it
There are
Millions missing

But the disease
Isn't invisible
To those who suffer from it
The symptoms
Don't lie

When will it be our time?
When will congress and NIH
Stop listening to big Pharma
And start shelling out funds
For a cure

How many people must be
In the ground before
They agree that it's an epidemic
Worse than
Zika, Swine flu, cancer, and even
HIV/AIDS

I may no longer be one of the
Millions missing
But it's my community
And our voices
