First time diving
In Aruba
Our last island
Of the trip

I got a chance to be
Where I wanted
To dive
Had a few islands
To choose from

Aruba won
Dives 35 & 36
Because they were
Two wreck dives
And that's just heaven for me

Both were WWII tankers
70+ years old
One was scuttled
While the other was sunk
By the allies

They were broken up
Into many pieces
Especially the second one
The first looked
Like the Titanic emerging
From the gloom

Absolutely massive
Laying on its side
With sea life growing
All over it
Fish of the stunning variety
Even an eel
No barracudas this time

Though the cold water
On that last dive
Gave me a bad cold
I still have no regrets
And yes I am well aware
I'm stubborn that way

Burn, sun allergy, cold water
I'm still determined to
Live and enjoy
