Last Embrace
She had stopped breathing long ago,
This had never been a secret.
She was floating among the black waves,
Under the white clouds,
Arms spread as if she was beginning to fly,
Just now.
As if losing her breath to the Ocean
Had made her reach the sky.
Her dark hair was surrounded by an halo of foam
And her white dress contrasted with the darkness of the Ocean.
She had worn the white dress, even if she hadn't noticed it.
She was meant to wear this one.
He found her body soon enough,
Intact, as if the Ocean had been protecting her.
She almost seemed alive,
And he almost told her:
Please, open your eyes. I don't want black or white,
I want blue as your eyes, I want you, alive.
But she wasn't.
He lefther in the Ocean's arms,
With her dress as white as hope,
Her hair a drowning twilight.
Time of darkness was gone.
But soon enough it will come back, my love.
Soon enough we will come back.
Soon enough we'll be reunited.
I'll wait until then.
And maybe the sorrow in his mind twisted his reality,
Or maybe not...
But he heard,
Within the whispers of the waves:
"I'll wait until then too."
