Back with chapter nine of Walking Among Shadows, this chapter will focus on the finals of the Sports Festival. So, without further adieu.

The battles of the Battle Tournament for Sports Festival continued as everyone showed some favoritism towards Devin and Chelsea, Midoriya and Ochako, and Bakugo and Todoroki. Denki and the rest of Class 1-A watched with awe.

"Those three teams are incredible!" Mina said impressed as Momo nodded.

"Especially with Devin and Chelsea," Momo said, "Those two make teamwork look easy. But so does Midoriya and Uraraka."

Denki and Mineta nodded frowning slightly.

"It will be hard cheering for one of these teams since they're in our class," Denki said as Iida walked over.

"We should give them our best cheers despite them being in the same class," Iida said looking onward at the last few matches.

Devin and Chelsea panted in the waiting room smiling and sweating severely.

"This tournament is intense!" Devin exclaims looking at Chelsea who nodded in agreement, "But this has to be the final match... I wonder how this will turn out."

Devin and Chelsea watched the screen as Present Mic walked onto the battlefield.

"What an intense Tournament so far!" Present Mic yells as the audience cheers wildly, "And we have three teams that have given us an amazing showmanship of strength, drive, and courage. We have team Midoriya and Uraraka!"

The audience cheers wild as Present Mic smiles a bit.

"Team Bakugo and Todoroki!" Present Mic yells as there were some boos and cheers, "And finally team Ghostly Hope!"

The audience went into an uproar of cheer as Present Mic raises an eyebrow.

"So much so that we've decided to have a three-way battle for first place!" Present Mic yells.

"Oh... This is going to be intense," Chelsea said smirking wickedly.

"Yes it will be," Devin said fist bumping Chelsea as the pair listened to Present Mic.

"All three teams will participate in the battle which the field will be expanded to hold the competitors," Present Mic explains, "The first team to knock out the other two teams will be the winners of the Festival. However, both team members must be thrown out before it qualifies as an elimination."

"So, one team member can still win for the team," Devin said as Chelsea nodded smiling. Ochako and Midoriya as well as Todoroki and Bakugo listened in to the conversation frowning slightly about the final battle.

"I figured we be in the finals," Midoriya said nervously shaking, "But we have Devin and Chelsea to worry about."

"Those two are formidable," Uraraka said eyeing Midoriya as Bakugo laughs.

"Those two are not formidable," Bakugo said with a smirk, "They may make teamwork look easy but their quirks are unmatched to my quirk!"

Devin and Chelsea sighed to themselves shaking their heads overhearing Bakugo as Chelsea leans placing her head against Devin's shoulder.

"I wish we could stay like this," Chelsea said smirking a bit as Devin wrapped his right arm around her chuckling a bit.

"Same here," Devin said smiling kissing Chelsea's forehead. After a few minutes, Present Mic announces the final match as the three teams looked at each other.

"...May the best team win," Devin said smirking slightly as the other two teams smiled back walking out towards the battlefield leaving Chelsea and Devin in the room.

"Let's give it our all," Devin said holding up a fist as Chelsea smirked fist bumping it, "For our clans."

"Let's do it, Hope," Chelsea said as the pair exited the room heading for the battlefield. The two smiled as the listened to Present Mic give the other two teams' introductions with cheers and spread boos for Bakugo.

"And now the third team," Present Mic said, "Unbelievably, they showed that teamwork is the best kind of work there is. Give it up for the dream team Ghostly Hope!"

Devin and Chelsea ran out hearing the audience cheered wildly for them as Midoriya and Uraraka watched with awe. After a minute or so, Devin and Chelsea eyed both teams as they did with them and each other. The rest of Class 1-A were standing at the railing watching.

"Who do you think will win this?" Mineta asks as Denki shrugs.

"Hard to say," Denki said watching the three teams take their signature stances, "But this will be one hell of a final match."

"Fighters!" Cementoss yells, "Begin!"

Devin and Chelsea took off as the separate in two different directions. Chelsea ran over to Deku and Ochako while Devin rushed towards Todoroki and Bakugo.

"Come on!" Bakugo yells letting small explosions shoot out from his hands as Todoroki frowned letting icy mists form from his mouth. Devin jumps using his Yin quirk to shoot himself at Bakugo striking him with a kick to his chest before engaging Todoroki in close combat. Chelsea smiles at Deku and Ochako who ran towards her. Deku channels One for All into his finger tip flicking it as a wind tunnel rushes towards Chelsea who rolled underneath it still running as she engaged Ochako in close combat using her shadows to keep Ochako from using her quirk directly. Todoroki uses ice side to cause Devin to jump back dodging it but left him wide open as Bakugo launches a massive explosion at Devin launching him into Chelsea as the pair crashed into the ground close to the edge of the arena.

"Go!" Bakugo yells at Todoroki who placed his hand on the ground creating a massive ice wall as it rushes towards Chelsea and Devin. Devin sees the wall as he quickly creates a massive opaque shield around himself and Chelsea just as they were scooped up within the ice wall. After a few minutes, Midoriya and Ochako as well as Todoroki and Bakugo stared at the wall with silenced looks.

"Well well Deku, looks like it's just us vs you guys," Bakugo said smiling evilly as Deku and Ochako prepared to battle Todoroki and Bakugo.

Meanwhile inside the ice wall...

The shield disappears as Devin and Chelsea looked around the inside of the wall. Both of them began shivering slightly as Chelsea walked towards the wall.

"I'll see how far the others' shadows are from us," Chelsea said placing a shaking hand on the ice letting her energy pulsate outwards. About ten to fifteen minutes later, several energies radiated back as Chelsea sighs.

"We're ten feet high and twenty meters away from the other fighters," Chelsea said as Devin nodded, "This ice is probably ten inches thick. Our quirks won't be able to penetrate it. We're done for."

"Damn it!" Devin yells throwing his hands up leaning against the ice wall frowning thinking, "No... There's one way we'll get out of here."

Devin walked over to the Chelsea smiling.

"But it will take both of our quirks combined to do it," Devin said as Chelsea raised an eyebrow.

"Can we pull it off?" Chelsea said as Devin smiled sweetly. Devin intertwined his fingers with Chelsea's hands cupping her face with his other hand.

"Yes, our parents always knew that we were destined to be together," Devin said, "Regardless of the our clans' differences. Our love for each other was stronger than the hate. We've both proven that to the opposite clan everytime."

Chelsea smiled sniffling a bit from tearing up gently kissing Devin.

"I love you, Devin Artemis Ying," Chelsea said pulling back as she moves behind him placing her back against his back. Devin smiled tilting his head back touching hers.

"And I will always love you, Chelsea Deliàh Rosè," Devin said closing his eyes.

"100% Quirk Release..." Devin and Chelsea whispered.

Outside the ice wall...

"Looks like Midoriya and Uraraka are finished," Present Mic said watching Bakugo and Todoroki walk over to Deku and Ochako.

"This ends!" Bakugo yells raising a fist as Todoroki gasps slightly, "What now!?"

"Something's off..." Todoroki said looking at the ice wall. Suddenly, several cracks appeared on the exterior as Midoriya, Bakugo, Ochako, and Todoroki go wide eyed.

"No way..." The four said as the ice wall shatters with Devin holding a fist. His hair was slightly elongated on the left side as his shirt disintegrates off revealing his muscular slim upper body. His left arm materialized completely as Devin slowly walked down the ice wall.

"What... Are you...?" Todoroki asks as Devin steps onto the ground eyeing Todoroki with closed eyes and a small smile.

"I told you," Devin said chillingly brushing his hair out of his face, "My quirks were once whole but divided... But now... Right now. They're together once again."

Devin's gray energy exploded to life as Devin's eyes shot open revealing bright red eyes. The noteable details were the shadowy tendrils markings on Devin's extremities like Chelsea's.

"Where's Chelsea?" Bakugo asks smirking, "Did she leave you to fight us because she's scared?"

"Why don't you come at me and find out?" Devin said taking on a different fighting stance. Bakugo growls running towards Devin who still held up the smirk as Bakugo swings his right fist readying an explosion. However, a shadowy white tendril races up in front of Devin blocking the explosion as well as grabbing Bakugo's fist.

"How did you do that?" Bakugo asks as Devin chuckles.

"Chelsea is apart of my shadow," Devin said as a black tendril races out striking Bakugo roughly launching him across the battlefield, "You can come out now."

Devin's shadow splits into two individual shadows as the right shadow slowly rises out of the ground causing the markings on Devin to disappear. A giggle escapes as Chelsea appears with slightly tanned ashy gray skin. Her hair was solid black as her eyes were blacked out except for her purple eye color.

"This is our everything," Chelsea said leaning against Devin's back smiling as Bakugo slowly got up more angry than before.

"You were holding back?!" Bakugo yells in anger as Devin chuckled.

"Not on purpose, we wanted to save our full power for the final match," Devin said as his hand released gray energy lighting Devin's facial features which some of the girls in Class 1-A found hot and sexy, "So, Bakugo, would you like to witness the Yin-Yang quirk at its most powered."

Bakugo smiles running towards Devin who smirked jogging slightly before sprinting towards Bakugo.

"Fist of Fury!" Devin yells sliding across the battlefield once in range of Bakugo as his fist collides with Bakugo's open hand just as Bakugo created an explosion at close range.

"Got you..." Bakugo said smirking before being uppercutted harshly and a roundhouse kick that caused him to be thrown out of the battlefield leading to his being knocked out. Bakugo looked at the smoke with wide eyes as Devin stood holding his leg up with blood dripping down his cheek.

"Aggression will lead you nowhere..." Devin said lowering his leg looking at Todoroki frowning as Todoroki had slightly wide eyes, "I know why you resent your fire."

"..." Todoroki looks down at the ground frowning a bit.

"And I understand, but Deku is right," Devin said as he wasn't able to see the fight but felt the heat from Todoroki's flame in the ice, "Your quirk is uniquely yours. They don't belong to anyone else."

Todoroki's eyes widen slightly as Devin's body began radiating gray energy.

"Your quirk and my quirk are very much alike," Devin said as Todoroki looked at him smiling a bit, "Make me a promise, Todoroki. After all this, promise that you will believe in yourself just as Deku and I believe in you."

"I will," Todoroki said thinking about it.

"Great then let's get back to the action!" Devin yells as Chelsea ran over beside him with Todoroki, Deku, and Ochako smiling.

(Timeskip)

The battlefield riddled with holes as the audience were on their feet watching the match.

"What an incredible final match!" Present Mic yells smiling, "After a grueling hour, we're down to just Midoriya and Devin!"

Midoriya and Devin panted as Chelsea, Ochako, Bakugo, and Todoroki were in the stands with the rest of Class 1-A.

"This match is intense," Sero said smiling.

"You said it," Toru replied watching, "How will it end? Chelsea, do you have any idea?"

"I cannot say... Devin has will and courage to keep on fighting," Chelsea said, "But Deku... Him and Devin are alike in so many ways. I do know that this next attack will decide this match."

The entire class watched as Devin smiled slightly.

"For the first time in my life," Devin panted out as Midoriya smiled, "you're the first outsider that has pushed me to my limits."

Devin coughs slightly spitting out blood as his chest tightened slightly. Devin felt his vision falter as he chuckles.

"Damn it... My body can't take much more of t-this," Devin said weakly. Chelsea frowns seeing the blood on the ground from Devin's cough.

"This isn't good," Chelsea said worriedly as Iida eyes her.

"What's wrong?" Iida asks as Chelsea frowns a bit.

"You do know of Devin's weaknesses with both of his quirks?" Chelsea asks, "One cause external injuries while the other causes internal injuries."

"Yeah," Ochako said raising an eyebrow, "We've seen it firsthand."

"Imagine those two weaknesses but focused on his heart," Chelsea said as Class 1-A went wide eyed, "That's what the weakness for Devin is in that state."

"Oh gosh..." Momo said dismayed watching Devin slowly positioned himself in a standing pose.

"Midoriya..." Devin said looking at the boy across from him who had just as much injury as himself, "I want to say thank you."

"For what?" Midoriya said as Devin slowly straightened his back up.

"For showing me your courage," Devin said, "I haven't felt that way ever since my clan's destruction. Despite the difference between our quirks, Your courage and will in this fight have shown tremendous honor... For that you've earn my respect."

Devin's body then ignites with gray energy as Devin's eyes rolled back turning solid gray.

"I'm putting everything into my next attack," Devin said channeling the flow of energy into his left arm and fist, "My pain, suffering, joy, courage, and will shall be the final strike!!!"

Devin said the last part with so much ferocity that a gray beam of energy shot into the sky darkening it.

"Is this..." Midoriya says with wide eyes.

"What's happening?" Mineta asks as Chelsea watches.

"This is Devin's will personified," Chelsea said, "Devin is putting every ounce of power into the final attack."

Midoriya watches then smiles as his left arm and hand tightened up. Green electricity sparked up as red markings travelled down his entire body.

"Alright Devin, if you're putting everything into the final attack," Midoriya said, "Then I will do the same!!!"

Devin's and Midoriya's quirks began surging to greater heights as Cementoss places his hands on the stand he was on.

"Midnight!" Cementoss said quickly extending the stone towards the battlefield. Midnight nodded tearing a section of her costume as pink mist escaped from her skin.

Devin's legs tensed causing the ground to crack as he rushes towards Midoriya at incredible speeds. And the same could be said with Midoriya as Midoriya rushes towards Devin raising his left fist.

"Fist of..." Devin said silently as his left fist energizes with a grayish fist overcoat.

"Detroit..." Midoriya also silently said raising his fist.

Both boys reached the center before Cementoss' walls could be built in time. Devin and Midoriya swung their fists at the same time making eye contact.

"FATE!!!" Devin roars swinging his fist forward.

"SMASH!!!" Midoriya yells as both fists collided causing a rainbow surge of energy to fling upwards straight into the air. Devin and Midoriya began a power struggle with their fists as it shifted around with every little movement.

Devin growls a bit feeling his heart pumping faster than before as Midoriya felt his muscles being destroyed. The entire stadium were on their feet in anticipation as Class 1-A and 1-B were in awe at the sheer power being displayed.

Devin and Midoriya both slam their fists into each others' cheeks causing both to fly harshly back and slamming into the ground several times before flying out of the battlefield.

"And the match is over!" Present Mic yells, "Both competitors have eliminated each other from the..."

Present Mic notices Cementoss and Midnight rushing over to Devin's side clearly checking on him.

"We need a medic!" Cementoss yells as Midnight was doing chest compressions on him. Chelsea vaulted over the railing landing on the ground running towards the scene as Class 1-A ran towards the battlefield taking the long route. Chelsea slid next to Devin just as Recovery Girl frowned slightly.

"Let me do it," Chelsea said eyeing Recovery Girl as she shook her head then reluctantly nods. Chelsea places her hands on Devin's chest just as Class 1-A as well as Midoriya walked over watching.

"Seek," Chelsea whispers as tiny shadow tendrils appeared racing into Devin's body through his mouth. Midoriya and the rest of Class 1-A watched with wide eyes as Chelsea's hands began moving in a way that a surgeon's hands moved. Recovery Girl was impressed watching Chelsea.

"Well, my my, you have some medical expertise," Recovery Girl said as Chelsea smiled.

"When I first was trained with small bits of my quirk," Chelsea said, "I learned the medical side of how my quirk can be used. This is called Shadow Stitching."

Chelsea's hands stopped moving as she sighs.

"It's done," Chelsea said eyeing Denki, "Hey Denki, assist me for a few minutes."

"Huh, alright," Denki said kneeling next to Chelsea.

"I need you to shock his chest," Chelsea said, "One hand over his heart and the other over the left side of his chest where his lung is."

"Alright," Denki said letting his quirk spark up quickly, "Clear!"

Denki shocks Devin's chest watching it jump slightly as Chelsea places her ear on his chest.

"One more time," Chelsea said as Denki smiles.

"Clear!" Denki yells shocking Devin's chest as Devin literally yelps in pain.

"Dang it!" Devin moans out as Chelsea smiles, "You did that second one on purpose..."

"Maybe...?" Chelsea said playfully as Devin slowly sat up letting his body separate the yin and yang quirks.

"God, that hurts," Devin said rubbing his chest then eyes Midoriya who was smiling, "Oh Lord, you look worse for wear."

Midoriya chuckles a bit as Cementoss frowns a bit.

"That was a dangerous stunt you two pulled," Cementoss said in seriousness, "You're lucky no one was hurt."

"Oh jeez, I saw that you and Midnight were trying to stop us," Devin said slowly getting up, "That's why I placed two force fields on either side of me and Midoriya so the by-blast wouldn't have anywhere else to go but up."

Cementoss and Midnight were wide eyed as Devin crossed his arms.

"Cut us some slack, Sir and Ma'am," Devin said, "This festival was made to let pro heroes see the future generation of heroes their skills."

Cementoss and Midnight frowned but smiled slightly nodding.

"Alright but with that attack we have to figure out what to do with placement since you two knocked each other out," Cementoss said as Midnight nodded then both teachers took their leave as Kirishima walked over playfully punching Devin on his shoulder.

"That match was incredible!" Kirishima said looking at Devin and Midoriya, "The way you two locked punches at the end."

"I'll say," Mina said smiling, "I didn't think Midoriya had it in him but woah!"

Midoriya chuckles a bit as Devin walked over smiling a bit.

"I think that match will go down in UA history," Devin said as Midoriya nodded with Recovery Girl healing Midoriya up.

"You need to be more careful," Recovery Girl said then looks at Devin, "The both of you."

Devin and Midoriya smiled sheepishly but nodded. The entire class walked back to the stands letting the teachers and staff figure out how to deal with the placement. While this occurs, the students began conversating with each other.

"Alright, we came with the solution," Present Mic said, "We're giving Team Ghostly Hope and Team Midoriya and Uraraka first place and Bakugo and Todoroki second place!"

The audience cheers wildly as Chelsea and Devin highfived each other. Midoriya and Uraraka hugged each other smiling then quickly slid away from each other blushing hard causing everyone to eye them smirking a bit.

(Timeskip)

Once the awards ceremony was over, Class 1-A walked out together as Chelsea walked in front of everyone smiling.

"Since it's the weekend, we should have a sleepover as a celebration of the Sports Festival coming to an end," Chelsea suggested.

"What the... Actually, that's not a bad idea," Bakugo said slightly calmer once he thought about it, "But who's house are we going to for it?"

"Actually, I was in the process of moving into a beach house/mansion," Chelsea said, "And I was finishing up moving the last of my things to it when All Might and Present Mic came by. We can have it there later today."

"Alright, sounds like a plan!" Aoyama said smiling sparkly.

"We're in!" The rest of Class 1-A said smiling as Chelsea gently grabbed Devin's hand.

"We'll see you all there at eight tonight!" Chelsea yells as she and Devin took off towards Chelsea's old house.
