Cutting Class Early
*Delilah's P.O.V*
We were all surprised at Stevens outburst.
I still couldn't get over the fact that he did that all, for me.
"Are you alright?" I could still hear him softly asking me.
I held my books to my chest, walking along Steven as he shoved his hands in his pockets- keeping his head down.
Tilting my head a bit, I glanced about before pulling him aside. "Hey...I want to thank you. Honestly. I really appreciate your help- God only knows what he'd actually do to me." I laughed nervously.
Shifting his gaze to meet mine, he smiled shyly. "I didn't want him to hurt you- or anything." He shrugged and mumbled.
I nodded and smiled a little, "Thanks...- oh, Steven." I frowned and placed my hand under his chin, tilting his face up towards mine.
"Your eye-...it looks worse.- " I glanced around and grabbed his wrist- sneaking him into the girls bathroom.
His eyes widened as he struggled to protest "Delilah- no...I don't- stop..." He stammered.
I locked the door behind us and patted the counter top.
He stood awkwardly and just stared at me, fiddling with his bracelets nervously. "Why..."
"Steven. Just- come here." I sighed and patted the counter again.
He seemed to mentally debate with himself, before doing as I instructed. "Now, stay still." I spoke softly.
He swung his legs back and forth a little as he focused on me.
Wetting a few paper towels, I dabbed at his cut jaw- gently wiping the blood from his neck.
"What happened..." I furrowed my brows.
"When- I um...when Mark hit me- my neck...the locker door was sharp." He mumbled.
I frowned deeply and cleaned his cuts and scrapes. "Oh." I nodded slowly.
Taking my water bottle from my bag- I dumbed the water and placed the ice cubes into a plastic bag- wrapping everything up in a few paper towels.
"Here, keep this on your eye." I placed the attempt at an Ice Pack against his eye- causing him to flinch just a bit.
"Hey, hey it's okay. I'm not going to hurt you." I reassured him.
His good eye watched me, showing trust.
I stepped back and folded my hands against my back. "Alright, I'm done."
He hopped off the counter and pursed his lips "Thank you."
I smiled and nodded. Grabbing his wrist once more, I pulled him out of the bathroom quietly- making sure no attention was brought upon us.
Once we began to blend in with other students, I glanced towards him.
Each time he raised his arm to reposition the ice pack- his shirt sleeve shifted, sowing a tattoo on his bicep.
I eyed it carefully, part of me just wanted to grab his Bicep and run my fingertips along the ink.
The other part of me, wanted to stop acting like such a pervert and keep my thoughts to myself.
Part two won. Sadly..
"I'm going to go sit down, and wait over there- for you." I pointed to an empty table off to the side of the lunch room.
Steven glanced over towards it and nodded. He turned to get his lunch, just before doing so- he gave me a small wave.
I waved back, smiling as I did so. I sat down and placed my Turquoise lunch box on the table top.
I couldn't stop thinking about him. I met this boy nearly an hour ago, and I already love him.
Well, that's exaggerating. That's like saying, 'I had an orange today, and it's my favorite fruit. It's the first time I've ever eaten it- but I love it more than any other fruit.'
I just, thinks he's cool. That's all. But, he's just so gorgeous..
His dark chocolate brown hair, curled and bounced around on his shoulders. Doe likes eyes, cheek bones to die for- and an attractive voice.
Why do people belittle him so much...so what if he's a nerd. He's sweet.
I was startled from my thoughts when Steven plopped down across from me, his beautiful brown eyes meeting my blue ones.
"Hey." I smiled a little, taking note of his presence.
"Hi." He spoke shyly and smiled a little in response.
We ate in silence for a moment or two, until I spoke up.
"So...uhm....what's your favorite color?" I asked with the raise of my brow.
Blandly stabbing his food, he shrugged and glanced around he room- eyeing my lunch box he reached out and felt the material "This is nice. I like this shade of blue-" he paused and blushed as his fingertips brushed against my hand.
Jerking his hand back, he cleared his throat "Sorry.." He spoke with embarrassment.
I giggled a little "No need to be. Accidents happen all-"
I was cut off by the sound of trays being slammed down on the table. Nearly jumping out of my skin- I looked up seeing John and Ian-Mark's- minions- sit on either side of Steven.
"Hey Stevie." John spoke. "How's your lunch? Looks good doesn't it. I heard the milks good. Fresh." John spoke thoughtfully.
Grabbing Stevens milk carton, he dumped it over the gorgeous boys head- letting the milk flatten his admirable curly hair.
"John!" I snapped and slapped his hand. "Knock it off." I scowled.
Ian snorted and rolled his eyes "Oh relax ya whore."
I tensed up and stared after him. I frowned internally feeling tears stung my eyes. Chewing on my inner cheek I held them back.
John and Ian both laughed hysterically, grabbing their sodas- they tossed their drinks into Stevens Face.
Steven stood up, sighing- he brushed off the dripping liquid- letting it soak his clothes. "Thanks guys." He mumbled in annoyance.
Snickers erupted from behind me, Ian had grabbed my hair- letting John pull my shirt out in front of me, exposing my cleavage.
He smirked as Ian whistled. John continued, by dumping the rest of Ian's milks carton down the front of my shirt.
I screamed and swatted at them- "stop it! Let go of me!"
Steven had shoved the boys into each other, "Enough!" He hissed before pulling me away from them.
They both laughed, falling overtop of each other.
I sniffled letting a few tears fall down my cheeks. I used the back of my palm to wipe them away. Snatching my lunchbox, and Stevens hand- I pulled him out of the lunch room.
Steven frowned and looked down as I began to cry "Why do you let them treat you this way?!" I snapped.
Steven flinched, looking at me with his doe eyes- like a dear caught in headlights "I-...don't have a choice..."
"Don't you dare say that! Of course you have a choice! You just need to make the right one!" I hissed and sniffled, wiping my tears with my fist.
"Delilah-..." He started.
"No. Just- take me home. I can't stand it in this hêll hole anymore." I spoke solemnly.
Steven watched me with concern. He nodded slowly, carefully walking with me out the doors.
