If I never knew the rain

If I never knew the rain
I would long for waters deep
Tell them secrets hard to keep
Growing strong and going sane

Raindrops wash my flaws away
Silver light on moonlit waves
Tides of velvet; wombs and graves
How I wish that I could stay

Ocean running through my veins
I must go beyond the shore
I have none, yet so much more
How I need the soothing rains

Bittersweet the thought of death
Beautiful the cobalt sea
Thoughts and feelings running free
Rain is salt and oceanbreath

Tell me, how should I contain
All my fears, my heart, my soul
All those oceantears I stole
If I never knew the rain
