Awoken
Awoken was a little spark
It was alive and was alone
Without control in endless dark
By constant beating it was blown
Awoken was a fire's rage
It burnt down every bridge it crossed
Adrift was wealth and golden age
And all the peace and hope was lost
It shall begin or end tonight
And when we dance you'll hold me tight
But darling I don't want to fall in love
Awoken was a little rose
So beautiful, so bright and fair
So full of thorns and still it grows
It cuts through skin and flesh like air
Awoken was a mellow spring
The sun shone each and every day
It burnt above on golden wing
The trees were wood, the grass was hay
It shall begin or end right now
Perhaps I'll kneel, perhaps I'll bow
But darling I don't want to fall in love
Awoken was a wicked heart
It beats too slow and beats too swift
Intended just to break apart
A torturing and morbid gift
Awoken was a wicked love
It burns too swift and burns too slow
Is love a blessing from above
Or just the signal when to go?
It should begin and end with you
It is, and was, and will be true
I fell in love and fell for you
I wish you had just fallen too
