Chapter 9 The Fourth Look

The first time T'Challa gave Nefretti The Look was when they were kids. The prince sat behind a big rock starring at the two girls with swords in their hands. In one corner was Nakia, his best friend whom he had secretly followed here, and the other was a girl unfamiliar to him wearing unfamiliar clothes. He had never seen anyone in Wakanda with these types of thick clothing since the climate was quite hot. His suspicions was confirmed when Nakia said to the girl "Ukushiya kodwa uNefretti?" (give up yet Nefretti?). The young prince's eyes widen. It was Nefretti of the Jabari tribe. Their sworn enemy...Nefretti didn't answer Nakia's smug question. Instead, she cartwheeled to her weapon which was on the ground and picked it up swiftly dodging her opponent's sword. They laughed as they fought again. T'Challa also realised that they weren't fighting for real, they were friends. But T'Challa didn't storm up to them and banned their friendship like anybody else from their tribe would. He was smitten by this beautiful stranger laughing like a goddess. Thus, The Look of complete mysterious sincere love. He didn't care where she was from, he knew that he was gonna make her his wife. Nefretti was also known as Khusela, in their village she was considered sacred; a gift from their ape deity. He watched in awe as she transformed her skin into silver and gold and her hair spread out in curls. "Woah" he whispered to himself. A few days later after careful hiding, the two girls found out that he was secretly following them and the rest was history...

---------------

A year and a half later and T'Challa's infatuation with Nefretti intensified. They were great friends which was a problem. Friends, he was too afraid to confess. Nefretti knew better though. She was quite aware how T'Challa would always stutter while talking to her and acted so differently in her presence than the way he acted in Nakia's. LIttle did he knew, she felt the same. Though she was more discrete thanT'Challa was. The two young teens were practicing their archery skills in their secret place in the field. Nakia didn't bother showing up, she had gotten the flu and was resting on her bed these past couple of days.

"Hold it like this." T'Challa said placing his hands on hers to adjust her grip. His chest was on her back, he tensed at how close he was, a part of him inside was jumping up and down like a teenage girl. She smelled better than vanilla, his favourite scent. "And release."

Nefretti squealed as the arrow hit the bull's eye. She turned to T'Challa with a victorious smile. "We did it! We did it!"

"No you did it." They still were still pressed against each other. Their eyes seemed to gleam in delight at each other. Slowly, they started to lean in. Now it was Nefretti who was jumping up and down like on the inside. Nefretti felt no lips except a gush of air. T'Challa had scooted away. What are you doing? Back away! You're misinterpreting the situation! She's not gonna kiss you! He wanted to punch his conscience after Nefretti began storming away.

"I can't believe you did that!"

"i'm sorry-" he ran after her "-I thought that I was misinterpret-"

"When are you gonna ask me out?" She faced him. Nefretti tapped her foot impatiently for an answer. T'Challa stuttered. "See!" She threw her hands up in the air. "You always do this! Chicken out when I know you like me and I like you. It drives me crazy when I always think there's someone else too that's stopping you from-" T'CHalla didn't hear anything besides her confession. He grabbed her face and kissed her shutting her up in the process. Their first kiss. That's when he gave her the second look.

---------------

She was an absolute nervous wreck. "I can't do this! I need air!" She kept on screaming. Nefretti was about to walk into a room full of strangers who practically hates her and her family. None of them were even here. Her childhood friends were probably glaring in disgust on this supposedly happy day. Nefretti kicked out all of the girls in the room and cried on her gown. All she wanted was the people she was familiar with for the past twenty four years. The doors opened. Nefretti didn't bother screaming to leave her alone as she started to hiccup. That person wrapped his arms around her and whispered that he is here now. At first she thought that it was T'CHalla but as soon as he opened his mouth, she lifted her head in shock and wrapped her arms around her brother. "M'Baku! I'ved missed you so so much!" She cried harder.

"It's all my fault little sister. I would be a fool to miss my sister's wedding day."

There was a commotion with the bride that delayed the wedding for twenty minutes. That was all the talk now. T'Challa began to fiddle praying to the gods that his bride didn't run away. Most of the wedding guests shook their head at the prince because of his bride. Her side was empty since none of her tribe bothered to show up whereas most of the kingdom was on present. He felt sick, he woudn't blame her if she changed her mind. Suddenly, there were loud roars followed by drums. The doors opened to reveal the Jabari tribe dancing towards their seats. Neftetti's side was now more than full. It was overfilled with the people she grew up with. The doors opened again to reveal two more Jabari people. His beautiful fiancé who everyone fawned over for her beauty wether his people liked her or not and her brother who began walking her down the aisle. Thus, the third look

(A/N little announcement here! So sorry that I haven't been updating lately. I was on a vacation in Southeast Asia! Actually, i'm from one of the countries there ;) So I made this chapter extra long to try and make up for my absences. Thank you!)

---------------

As T'Challa set foot on the streets of the bustling Busan, he understood why his wife loved coming here with Nakia from time to time. Glowing colourful lights were everywhere and the intoxicating smell of the street food made the streets full of people even at this hour of the night. They; Okoye, T'Challa and Nakia began to walk. "This way." Nakia led them.

"Let's hope that the plan goes quickly and smoothly so i can get this ridiculous thing off my head." Okoye fixed her wig much preferring herself hairless. But they needed to be discreet.

"It looks nice. Just whip it back and forth." Nakia said nonchalantly making Okoye stare at her with the most confused pair of eyes. She soon led them to a seafood stall. She approached an elderly lady selling fish "Sophia!" They both began conversing in Korean, a language that Okoye and T'Challa neither knew. At one point the old lady named Sophia stood up from her seat and based from her tone, she was getting angry. Nakia didn't bulge. She simply batted her eyelashes some more.

"Don't cause any trouble this time." Sophia cracked a grin.

They were lead to an underground club. The king smirked knowing it wasn't just the energetic crowd and exotic food which attracted Nefretti to Busan. The club was blasting with music and full of gambling. A lot of wealthy locals and foreigners were here tonight. "Spread out, the buyer is likely here tonight." T'Challa ordered. As they ascended down the stairs. T'Challa grabbed a hold of Nakia's arm and asked "The woman outside, what trouble was she referring to?"

"Let's just say Nefretti got into a disagreement with some ivory traders who have egos bigger than their manhood. Made a tiny mess"

"Yes a 'tiny' one." They busted out laughing. T'Challa stayed with the tables while Nakia made her way to the bar.

OKoye, who was positioned upstairs said through the hidden earpiece "Eyes up, Americans. I count three."

"Make that five." Nakia added.

"Six, I just spotted an old friend." T'Challa made his way towards Everret K. Ross. These aren't just any Americans. The C.I.A. are here tonight. "Things just got a little bit complicated." He sat on the stool beside him.

"Your highness."

"Agent Ross."

"Are you buying from Klaw." T'Challa laid down chips to bet.

Agent Ross bitterly answered, "What I am or am not doing on behalf of the U.S. government is none of your concern. Now whatever the hell you're up to, do me a favour. Stay out of my way."

"If I want to." T'Challa shot back.

"Didn't i give you the wraps? If the world found out that a king from a third world country is running around in a bullet proof cat suit I'd say we were even." If you only knew..."YOu really need to leave, now." He continued saying.

"Klaw is leaving through that door with me. You've been warned." T'Challa left the table not bothering to take his chips back.

Agent Ross cursed to himself before announcing through his earpiece to the other C.I.A. agents that the king of Wakanda was here. He went after T'Challa stood next to another table. "Let's make a deal."

"I am not here to make deals."

"Klaw." Nakia said making Okoye and T'Challa look above. The king of Wakanda had his mouth open in shock. Agent Ross followed his eyes towards the doors. There was Klaw and his goons of armed men. He was walking as if he owned the place,Kalw's arm was wrapped around a very attractive woman's waist. Probably one of the his prostitutes but with further inspection, Agent Ross' mouth flung open too. It was none other than Queen Nefretti of Wakanda in a revealing yet elegant black dress which made everybody's eyes glued to her. She swung her hips even more. This was her new costume since T'Challa hid hers. She ordered Shuri to make it more saucy to taunt her husband.

"Woah" T'CHalla unintentionally uttered. He didn't care to scold her for coming here. He knew that she was too stubborn to listen anyways. Somehow, T'Challa knew that she would show up but not on the arms of a monster like Klaw. This game him more reason to punch Klaw in the face harder than necessary tonight.

"Despite the heavy security out back, Klaw is heavily armed." Nefretti joined their earpiece conversation.

"Well they certainly didn't  get the memo." Nakia rolled her eyes "General?"

"In position to secure the exit."

"And the Vibranium?" T'CHalla asked

"I haven't seen it yet." Nefretti answered. Klaw looked back at her thinking that he heard something. She covered it with a dim witted laugh. As much as she resented this, she had to act dumb tonight.

"Come with me. I got business to attend to." Klaw said rather harshly and dragged Nefretti across the room to Agent Ross. Nefretti bit the inside of her cheek knowing very well who he is.

"Well that was quite the entourage. Do you have an album coming out?"

"Oh yeah. There is one. I Can send a sample if you like." Klaw laughed at Agent Ross. He turned back at one of his bodyguards and said "Hey Dave, can you send a link to-"

"-No please don't make me listen to your music. I just meant that there are a lot of people with you tonight." He stared at the queen who laughed like the dummy she was portraying to be tonight. It took everything for Nefretti to not roll her eyes at Klaw's stupidity and kick this agent's ass from annoying her.

A few men came in that were not with Klaw. "Six more, this was a set-up."  Nefretti reached down to her purse for her weapon knowing that this was probably gonna end up badly.

Klaw took an item wrapped in manila paper labeled 'fragile' and placed it on the table beside them. "Well I thought I'd buy a fancy briefcase but thought I'd save myself from money." Can't this bastard get any cheap? I mean come on! Buy some toothpaste.

"I've just spent an hour in a half with this guy. If no one's gonna shoot him now I will." Nefretti harshly whispered into the earpiece that Shuri gave her before she left.

"We can't afford a shoot out." Her husband argued.

"It's now or never!" Okoye said rather loudly which got the goon's attention. They walked quickly to her to confirm their suspicious. She tried to walk away but was blocked. Okoye said a little prayer before knocking them both out which turned the whole club's attention to the commotion upstairs. Including Klaw's.

"Fire!" The civilians ran for safety while Klaw, the C.I.A. and the Wakanda crew battled. Nefretti smirked finally using her powers. Her skin turned silver and gold, her hair was no longer in a low ponytail but now was curly and free. She retrieved two sticks from her back before pushing a botton which made the sticks three feet long with sharp blades on each end. Klaw who was beside her backed away. A minute ago she was just another escort to him but now it dawned on him as to whom she really was. For once in a long time he was scared knowing the legends were true. Klaw slowly whispered at the sight before him "Khusela"

Klaw was going further away while his goons closed i on her. It was her in the middle of huge five men. She flipped her Vibranium made spears and bent down to slash their knees. Some of them dropped their weapons, some of them stayed on the ground clutching their bleeding wounds. She first attended to the ones standing up. Nefretti went on the shoulder's of one and flipped him face first on the ground. She blocked the punches of two others and used her petite body to climb them and snap their necks with her feet off the ground. She felt a hard force on her stomach. She was being shot at by the remaining two who was on the floor. She smirked while they screamed for help as she swung at them. What a waste. Shooting at someone bullet proof. Nefretti ran to kick some other goons' asses. Nakia, Okoye and T'Challa had vacated the scene. There were a considerably large amount of civilians still inside the club. Nefretti led them to safety before catching up to her friends and husband.
