Chapter 2 Home

SHORT ANNOUNCEMENT:
1) in the 3rd person's POV
2) Nakia wasn't T'Challa's ex in this story

Nakia could never get used to the view from up above. She admired how the sun kissed the vibrant green plains 'good morning' and the animals starting their day. She had appreciated nature since she was a little girl thanks to her dad, the River Tribe Elder, who encouraged not only their tribe to appreciate the water that gives life but to all the other tribes. A smile formed in her face as a memory of her dancing along the river where she met her best friend, Nefretti.

flashback:

"Ode! Ode! Look at me." Nakia moved her arms and hips in a circle, however, she was going fast which made the other older women laugh at the young girl.

"Let me teach you how to properly dance with the river child." Ode stood up from where she sat and guided Nakia through it. She placed her arms on the child's arms and corrected her motion. "Flow like the water child, flow."

It was an ordinary day in Wakanda when some of the women in the River Tribe went out to the river and get fresh water as usual. They had large clay pots on their head for the water. They had no problem balancing it, except for Nakia who often struggled at it. From a very young age the people of the River Tribe noticed that Nakia didn't quite belong. Everybody in the village knew how badly little Nakia aspired to be part of the fearless War Dogs, warriors of Wakanda.

Nakia watched the river flow for hours wondering where does it lead to. She decided to find out for herself. She ran with her fighting stick for what seemed like a long time. The sun was started to set but Nakia still wasn't tired. She hesitated stepping out of the boarder of her tribe. What lies on the end of the river was something she didn't expect. The river turned into ices and on the edge was a girl a little younger with a fighting stick similar to Nakia's practicing her skills. Nakia smirked deciding to make a new friend. Years later they would still meet in the same spot practicing and training themselves to be warriors. Their tribes often clashed and were not on the greatest terms but that didn't stop the two from becoming great friends. Little did they both knew while Nakia snook out of her tribe, her other best friend, the crowned prince T'Challa followed her and watched the two girls clash swords and laugh. That was the day T'Challa met Nefretti and has been smitten ever since.

"Wake up my queen. We are home." Hands combing Nefretti's long dark hair woke her up. She opened her eyes to see T'Challa's face. She smiled noticing that her head was rested on his lap. She sat down properly and greeted him with a kiss. "This never gets old." was T'Challa's statement before the jet made it's way to the trees not crashing but going through it revealing the beautiful Wakanda, their home.

They flew above the metropolis doing loops and tricks which entertained the citizens below. Nefretti smiled to herself. Yesterday, she had read an article about Wakanda being one of the poorest countries in the world who refuses to accept foreign aid. It was just a mere cover up-Wakanda was the most advanced country in the world. She looked down below observing the floating trains and advanced technologies. If they knew she thought to herself. Nefretti always wondered if Wakanda shared to the world the benefits of Vibranium. Not only was Vibranium the strongest metal on Earth but also the power supply of Wakanda and the marvels in it.

The jet landed on the runway of the palace. One by one we came out and descended to the ground. The staff and the Dora Milaje stood on a strait line welcoming us by crossing their arms in a form of an 'X' while bowing. On the end of the line was Queen Mother Ramonda and Princess Shuri. A smile was plastered on Nefretti's face upon seeing her extended family who had the same ecstatic face when they saw her. As they walked towards them, Nefretti also remembered the events of last week. Including the death of the king. Queen Ramonda maybe smiling but her eyes told a different story. However, she held her head high and remained calm. Nefretti wondered if she could ever be that poised like the queen. She felt a lump on her throat.

Nakia bowed down to them both, "Queen mother, princess, I comfort for your loss."

"Thank you Nakia. It is so good to have you both back." Queen Ramonda greeted.

"We're glad to be back. Two months of not seeing your family really does take a toll on you." Nefretti gave a secretive smile at T'Challa before giving a box to Shuri. "Excuse me but I need to get properly dressed." She motioned to her dirty clothes from last night.

The Royal family stared at Nefretti who walked backed indoors. Shuri asked the most awaited question. "Did he freeze?"

Okoye answered "Like an antelope in headlights." which made her and Shuri laugh. If looks could kill right now, they'd be six feet under.

"Are you finished?" T'Challa covered his red cheeks.

Shuri came forward and got her AMP beats-what she had just requested from her brother. While walking away, T'Challa shouted "I can't wait to see what kind of update you make to your ceremonial outfit. To which Shuri replied by flipping him off.

"Shuri." Her mother warned even though facing her back.

Shuri drew her hand back while walking "Sorry mother!"

Gosh am I glad to be home T'Challa thought.
