small fissures in sidewalks
and little cracks you avoid stepping on.
but this,
this was different.
i'd never experienced heartbreak
so devastatingly before.
i'd never experienced a heart ripping heartbreak before.
this didn't create a small line in the ground, on a sidewalk,
or even a large crack in the street.
this was a canyon of hurt
that poured out of me.
this was the grand canyon,
filled to the brim with heartbreak
like no other.
