-----Chapter 26----

Here we go.

Sanjana Pov:

"Thanks for receiving me" I said to Cami with a smile on my face.

"It's okay yaar. Now go and freshen up. You look tired" she said and I nodded. I went to my room and everything was still in it's place. This room has a lot of memories. I cleared my thoughts and took a shower. I went down and had my dinner with Cami. 

"Are you guys done with the presentation?" I asked Cami. 

"Yeah" she said gulping her food.

"Okay, I'm going to sleep. Good night" I said and made my ways towards my room. I heard my phone ringing as soon as I opened the door. I rushed towards my bed and looked at the caller Id. It was Sidharth. Wait!! I blinked my eyes for a second and looked at the phone again. It was really Sid. Why is he calling me? He must have dialed to a wrong person, I guess. I cleared all the stupid thoughts and lifted the call. 

"Hello!!" I greeted him.

"Hello Sanj!!You have reached your place right?" he asked me. Why is he sounding low? 

"Yeah. A while ago" I said. 

"Between who dropped you at the airport?" he asked. OMG!! Why is he asking me now? Did he got to know about the truth?

"You there?" I heard his voice again. God!! What am I going to answer?

"Yeah.." I tried to say

"You lied to me. I know" I heard his voice and this is shocking to me. I'm dead. I thought.

"Why did you lied to me?" he asked this time in a authoritative voice. Don't be scared, Sanj. You should be strong and speak from your heart. I told to myself. 

"What?? Why do you care about me? huh?" I asked in return. Yes, why the hell is he caring? I know his care is fake. He just wants to hurt me more. 

"This is not a forever relationship right? Then why do you bother about me? I didn't say because I don't want you to drop me and It will hurt me if you say anything wrong. Why to get hurt everytime? So I lied to you" I blurted out the truth.

"What do you mean by forever relationship?" I heard his voice for a second. Is he mad or what? Can't he understand English? 

"We are living together in a forced relationship. This will break anytime and we will part our ways. Please don't show fake care and all. I'm fine like this" I said and I can feel tears in my eyes. I don't know why this is happening to me.  

"Leave about this relationship. I genuinely care about you, Sanj. I know, I hurted you with my words and I'm sorry for that. But trust me, I'll always protect you. I know our relationship won't last forever but I'll protect you till it reaches the end" I heard his words. Wait!! Does he know what is he speaking?

"Even you're important to me, Sanjana" my heartbeat raised a bit. I held the phone tightly and collapsed on the bed.

"I mean it. You have no idea how much I wanted to drop you but you lied to me about that. Take care of yourself and be back soon. Good night" I heard his voice again. Did he really mean what he said? His words are still echoing in my ears. You made my day, Sid. I thought and wiped my eyes. I laid on the bed and opened the gallery in my phone. I have his pics which I downloaded from social media websites. A smile came on face looking at his pics. I'm sorry for lying to you. I said to the pics and hugged the phone to my chest. I don't know when sleep consumed me.

Next day, I woke up and did my morning chores. I got dressed up and went down. I saw Cami already waiting for me.

"Let's go. Reyan must be waiting for us" I said and she took her things. We both got into the car and Cami started riding.

"So what happened to you?" she asked all of a sudden.

"What?" I asked in return.

"You're looking so energetic today" she said smiling and that brought a smile on my face. Yeah, it's all because of Sid. There is some progress in our relationship. I thought.

"Hey, where were you dreaming?" she asked jerking me a little. 

"Nothing. Just thinking about the presentation" I lied to her. I cannot say the truth, she will start teasing me. I want to call Sid and wish him good morning. I really want to do. But the thing is, I don't know how he will react. I decided to call Cat and ask her about his whereabouts. I took my phone and dialed to Cat. She picked up the call for the first ring.

Sidharth Pov:

I told her how I felt when she lied to me. I meant everything what I said to her. I laid on the bed and my past started to flash in front of me. She was the one who helped me when I was broken. I don't know what's happening in my life. Are we destined together? I shook my head and decided to ignore thinking about her. Soon, I drifted into sleep. Next day, I got up and did my morning chores. I got dressed up and stepped out of my room. I don't know why but my tracks got stopped in front of her room. I have a strong urge to open the door.

"Don't be stupid, Sid. She is not there" my subconscious mind said. God!! what the heck is happening to me? 

I went down and I saw Miss. Cat talking to someone over phone. 

"How are you, Sanj?" I heard her voice. Wait!! Is she talking to Sanjana? Did Sanjana called her? Why??

"He is fine. Don't worry about him. I'll take care" I heard Cat's voice again. Who is she referring to? I need to find out. I thought.

"Ahem!!!" I cleared my throat and her body got stiffened. Immediately, she hung the call and turned towards me. 

"Good Morning sir" she said trying hard to smile. But she failed miserably.

"Morning!! Where's the breakfast?" I asked.

"It's all set. Come. I'll serve you" she said and rushed to the dining hall. I followed her and took my seat. She then started serving breakfast. 

"With whom are you talking over phone?" I asked and she looked horrified.

"Old Frie..end" she tried to say. Why is she lying? She can say the truth right? I'll not kill her if she says Sanjana's name. I know they are good friends.

"Really??" 

"Yeah sir" she said lowering her eyes.

"Look, I heard your conversation. You were talking to Sanj" I said and she looked at me with her wide eyes open.

"Sorry sir" she said lowering her eyes.

"From next time, don't try to fool me because I'm so intelligent to find out the truth. Why are you so scared to bring her name?huh?" I asked and she remained silent.

"Anyways, tell me what you guys talked? I want to hear" I said leaning back on the chair.

"Sir.. It's .. It's" she started.

"What? Are you planing to say this next week? I have an important meeting to attend. Please tell me" I said looking at my watch.

"She was talking about you, Sir" she said shocking me. 

"What?? Me??" I asked.

"She asked me about your whereabouts sir. She was so worried about you. I promised that I'll take care of you" Cat said in one go. And I don't know why but my heart felt good and happy. She called to know about me. I thought and that brought a lot of joy inside me. I looked at Cat and she was waiting for my reply. 

"Never lie to me, okay" I said controlling my emotions. I got up from my place and rushed out of the place. I got into my car and started driving to my office. A smile came on my face thinking about Sanj. But I don't understand one thing, she can even call me and talk right? I don't want any third persons between me and Sanj. Anyways, I feel good today. So peaceful. 

I went to my office and started working on some files. I don't know why my heart wants to hear her voice. I want to call her so badly.

"Ahhh.... Concentrate on your work, idiot. You need to complete it today" my inner voice said and I felt frustrated. I took a deep breathe and decided to complete the work first, then I'll think of calling her. Moreover, she will be in work too. It's not the right time to call her.

I completed my work by evening. I ordered my assistant to fix the meetings tomorrow and go through the file. I took my things and decided to go home. I parked my car and went inside. I feel so tired today. I went straight to my room and took a quick shower. I got dressed up and jumped on my bed. 

"Now, I can call her. She must be free too" I thought and took my phone. I dialed to her. It was ringing but there's no response from her side. Why is she not picking up? Is she fine there? I tried again and this time my luck got worked. 

"Hello Sanj!!" I said.

"Hey!!" I heard a male voice. Who the hell is he?? I got up from my bed and stood up.

"I'm Reyan. We met remember?" he said and I could hear loud sounds from the other end. What the fuck is he doing with my wife's phone? Where is she? I want to kill you, Reyan.

"I don't have an fucking business with you Mr. Reyan. Who gave the right to lift her phone call? Where is my wife?" I asked him gritting my teeth.

"Whoa!! Whoaa!! Cool dude. We are celebrating for our project and your wife went out. I lifted the call so that you will not get tensed" he explained but nothing went into my brain. I hung the call and threw my phone on the bed. Who the fuck is he?? Why is she partying with that bastard? I pulled my hair in frustration. 

Suddenly, I heard my phone ringing, it was from Sanjana. I lifted the call for the second ring.

"Hello!!" she said.

"What the hell are you doing in pub? Why are you partying with that idiot? Do you have any idea about what you doing?" I shouted at her but there is no response. 

"Answer me. I'm worried here" I said controlling my anger but there is no response from her side and I remained silent too.

"Sid??" I heard her voice after few seconds. She just called me Sid right? It's been ages since I heard this name from her.

"I'm not in pub,okay. We are celebrating in Cami's house. And I was in kitchen making dinner for us. That's why I didn't picked up your call. I'm sorry for that" she explained me slowly. Fuck!! I shouted on her for no reason.

"You there?" I heard her voice again.

"Yeah. I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have shouted" I apologized.

"Between why are you so worried? huh?" she asked me. Yeah, why am I worried so much? Why am I getting worried when I heard something about Reyan? I don't even know. I thought.

"Leave this. Go and have food. You must be tired" I said and diverted the topic.

"Why did you called Cat this morning?" I asked.

"Cat?? I didn't called" she said.

"Now stop fooling me. I know the truth. You called her to know about my whereabouts" I said in one go.

"Great. You know the truth. Then why are you asking me again? I called her because I really feel responsible about your health and all. I can even call you and ask this question 'How are you?' Your answer will be the 'fine' even if you are not okay. I want to know the truth,so I called her and asked her about you" she said in one go. She is talking so fast and for the first time I felt like I'm talking to the real Sanjana who I met six years back.
