Chapter 2
Great, this is just perfect.
Not only am I going to have to worry about myself, but im going to have to watch over my new stalking coworker.
I mean sure if I look on the not-so-dark-side of things, it might not be completely horrific.
Maybe I'll get to know the guy, and he'll actually turn out to be pretty cool.
But so far it was the complete opposite. I've only been officially working with the guy for a few minutes and he's already been ordering me around.
I'm supposed to be doing that, not him!
Yesterday, when I was told I'd be assisting him all month, I definitely wasn't expecting this asshole to, well, be a complete asshole.
Few minutes in and he's already ordered me to wax the floor, double clean dishes, and clear most of the tables he was assigned to.
The worst part? I fucking did them!
"Gah!" I drop down the rag I'm holding, finally deciding not to be pushed around by this rather intimidating guy.
Im a waiter, not a freaking janitor!
"Levi!" I yell from the kitchen in which I stood.
"What? You don't have to yell." Levi walks up to me, holding nothing more than a waiters check pad and pen.
"I obviously do." I mumble to myself.
Before I could say anything more and finally tame this wild beast of confusion, also known as Levi, he begins walking away.
I watch out of curiosity and horror as he walks up to a nearby counter. On said counter was a glass of wine.
He places a finger on the glass' edge before looking at me with a smirk.
"Don't you dare..." I squint my eyes at the shorter man.
How old is this guy?! He's acting like a freaking two year old!
Levi suddenly tips his finger forward, causing the glass to tip, causing the red wine to splatter all over the white, tiled, floor.
What pissed me off the most was that Levi was only doing this to bother me. And it was working.
"Oh my. Eren, you mind cleaning that?"
He begins to walk away but I quickly pick up my discarded rag and chuck it at the back of Levis head. It sticks to his hair before slowly sliding down and off of his neck. "Yes. I do mind."
Levi stiffens and turns to me.
The look on his face made my footing falter, but like hell I would let Levi know he actually scared me.
"Clean this up right now." I order, walking up to the shorter male, using my height as an advantage.
"Why? I thought you were--"
"No. I don't care how fucking scary you look. From now on I'm not listening to anymore of your lame ass excuses. Clean that. Now."
Levi just stares at me for a few long moments and I stare back, anger boiling inside me.
"Hm. Good..." Levi takes a step back, scribbling something down into his check pad.
"Most don't last as long as this...good job on passing test 1." Levi turns away, quickly leaving the kitchen.
What was that about? Test one? Most don't last? I've never been so confused.
I shake my head, wanting to jus drop the subject. You know what? I'm going to go insane. Hopefully this month goes by quickly and I no longer have to baby sit him...
My thoughts were suddenly interrupted when Levi returns through the kitchen doors with a mop and rag in hand.
Without a word he swiftly cleans the wine stained area in only a couple of swift strokes. "Need me to take any orders?" Levi asks, putting the mop away.
I don't know if I can fully trust this guy or not....you know what? I'm going to just let him do it. If he gets fired for being stupid, then hey, lucky me.
"Yes. You mind taking the next three?"
Without a word Levi walks out of the kitchen, hopefully to go do what I had told him.
I should now have at least five minutes of quiet, now that he's gone.
Trying to get back to work, and forget about Levi, I decide to clean around the kitchen.
"Oi."
I close my eyes and sigh at the sound of his voice.
I turn around only to see Levi. "I thought you were taking orders, Levi."
It hasn't even been forty seconds!
"There's a guy demanding to speak to commander bushy brow." I roll my eyes when Levi gives me the news.
"Why would someone need to speak to the manager? Did you somehow manage to upset someone already?!"
Instead of answering my questions, he continues to speak. "He also said to tell Erwin he's from the Titan Bowl BBQ restaurant across town."
I instantly freeze. T-Titan Bowl?! What are they...oh no. Don't tell me...
Panicked, I frantically turn to Levi. "What's today's date?!"
"Uh...17th of April...?"
Oh no."Shit! We haven't planned anything!"
"Where's Erwin?!" I call out to the other employees in the kitchen. The head cook, Sasha was the only one who calls back. "He's in the back!"
Good. "Levi...uh, I guess come with me. Sasha! Get your best cooks and meet me in the back with Erwin."
Wiping my hands on a nearby cloth I speed walk to the back door in search of the Manager, Erwin.
"What's going on?" Levi asks from beside me.
I guess I should explain to him what's going on. I sigh. "Every four years there's this...competition."
"Competition?"
"Yes. The top fifteen restaurants from across the world get together and compete in a series of cooking battles and such."
"Okay, but I still don't see the problem."
"The finalists have to impress the judges with a main course that would blow them away. Many of which take weeks in advance to gather ingredients for."
I glance over at Levi who was still listening, so I continue. "Every year our restaurant and Titan Bowl end up being the finalists...except we've never won."
"And that's why they're here today. The competition is coming up?"
"It's not just coming up. It's tomorrow. The worst part? We haven't prepared anything."
