Chapter 86

"I have an announcement!" Daveed says, over the loudspeaker. "The city is coming to plow us out of the theater, and we will be allowed to leave in three hours!"

Cheers erupt throughout the building. They will be able to be back in New York for Christmas with their loved ones.

"All cast members are being scheduled flights back to NYC as I speak. If anyone would like to be flown elsewhere, please tell me within the next five minutes. I am sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused."

"Pippa, did you hear that? We get to go home!"

"Well, you get to go home," Pippa mutters.

"Huh?" Jazzy asks.

"I have a flooded apartment, and my stuff spent a week with Carl. It's probably all beer-stained by now."

Jazzy looks at Pippa with sad eyes.

"It's okay. We can get you a hotel. Your stuff is safe with Steven, and since you'll be home, you will be able to make the proper arrangements for the damage to be fixed."

"I guess so," Pippa mutters. "It's just... not the most ideal situation."

"I know. Nobody should have to spend Christmas that way," Jazzy tells Pippa.

"I mean, you kicking me out of the celebration isn't helping much," Pippa fires at Jazzy, playfully.

"No, it's absolutely helpful! Steven is going to ask what Christmas plans you have, feel bad that you don't have any, and then invite you to join him! Look, if he doesn't invite you, then you can come with me and Ant, okay?"

"Alright," Pippa sighs and begins to tidy up the dressing room, picking up everything that she is going to want to bring back to the hotel with her and sticking it in Jazzy's suitcase.

A few minutes later, Lana comes into the room, and starts cleaning up her area as well. It feels great to be packing up what they brought over a few days ago, when they were terrified about being snowed in. It also feels amazing to know that they're going to be getting a break from the tour. As fun as it is, it is also exhausting, and everyone is ready to take a break.

Before they know it, they're cleared to head back to the hotel, and everyone is happy. The temperature has been climbing up the past few days, and it has made it above freezing. As the matter of fact, it is about 40 degrees, or according to the Canadians, 4 degrees. The sun is shining, causing the snow to sparkle, and it is really quite pretty.

"If I wasn't so tired, I would make you have a photoshoot, Pippa," Jazzy tells her friend, who laughs.

"Thank goodness you're tired, because I don't want to get all wet."

That night, most of the cast gets on a red-eye flight back to New York. The buildings are lit up, and the streets are slushy from the remains of the small amounts of snow that they got, whereas Canada got the storm much worse. Everyone hurried out of the airport as soon as they landed, and Jazzy and Anthony made sure that Pippa got safely into a hotel before heading back to their apartment.

Pippa sat alone in her hotel room, longing for any sort of human to talk to, whether that be a friend, a boyfriend to hold her, or even her mom or dad. She never realized how lucky she was to be rooming with Jazzy on the tour. The big, king-sized bed made her feel even smaller.

She pulled out her phone and started scrolling through her social medias, and then, she got a text from Renee.

Renee: Are you guys back from Canada yet? I heard that you got out of the theatre.

Pippa: yeah, thank goodness. jazzy and anthony got me a hotel room (i guess they think that i am not capable of that, haha) because my apartment isn't fixed yet.

Renee: Still no plans for Christmas?

Pippa: no. jazzy swears that steven is going to invite me, but i don't know.

Renee: I hope that he does!

Pippa: haha thanks.

She clicks out of the message app, and goes back to reading Twitter. She decides to tweet out a tour update to all of the fans.

@phillipasoo: hey everyone! thanks for all of the love these past few days. we got out of the theatre and i'm safely back in nyc for the holidays.

Pippa decides to turn on a movie and try to get some sleep. She puts on The Sound of Music, and can't help but smile to herself, remembering all of the memories that she made with her friends in Salzburg. One of her favorites has come to be the scary puppet in the marionette museum. Looking back at it, it was pretty funny, and Jazzy did have a point- she was so obsessed with the movie that she would fall for the trick.

Pippa ends up falling asleep while cuddling her fuzzy blanket shortly after the "Do-Re-Mi" sequence in the movie, and that night, she dreams about everything from fleeing Austria, probably because she was hearing the end of the movie in her sleep, to having Christmas dinner with Steven. She hopes that dream becomes a reality.
