Chapter 62

"How do I look?" Jazzy asked, spinning around for Pippa to inspect her outfit one final time. She is wearing a black, turtleneck sweater, a blue skirt, black tights, and black heels.

"As I told you literally five minutes ago, you look great," Pippa insists.

"Thanks," Jazzy smiles. "I can't wait for this! Anthony was asking me about my favorite places in London a few weeks ago and I think he's going to take me to some of them!"

Pippa smirks to herself. She knows what's about to happen, and it's been killing her to not tell Jazzy.

"I think you're going to have a great night Jas."

"I hope so. It's been so long since Ant and I have gotten to hang out and he's been acting so weird lately. I just hope everything's alright."

"Don't sweat it Jas. He's a great guy. He's perfect for you, and you know it."

Jazzy looks at the clock. "Well, I'd better go."

"Have fun!" Pippa calls as Jazzy walks out the door.

Jazzy finds Anthony on the elevator and she breaks into a smile, then he pulls her into a kiss.

"You look gorgeous, Jazzy!" Anthony says, blushing a bit.

"You look pretty fine yourself," Jazzy replies, placing her hand on Anthony's chest. He is wearing a grey sports coat, burgundy colored jeans, and a white t-shirt. He is clean-shaven, and his hair is pulled back in a ponytail.

"I love you," he tells her, grabbing her hand.

They two step out of the elevator, and then, head out of the hotel into the city.

"Where are you taking me?" Jazzy asks, as Anthony starts to lead her somewhere.

"I'm about to change your life," he smirks. Jazzy rolls her eyes.

"I give you five minutes before you're relying on me for directions, Ramos."

"Are you underestimating me, Cephas?" Anthony teases. Jazzy rolls her eyes.

"No, I'm just saying that I know this city a lot better than you do."

"Okay, that's fair enough," Anthony laughs. "Give me a chance at least, though. Our reservations aren't for another hour."

"I guess I can give you a chance to prove your romanticism," Jazzy laughs, swinging her arm, and Anthony's along with her's.

"You're so cute, Jazzy."

After three wrong turns, Jazzy finally convinces Anthony to let her take the lead.

"Now, where are we going?" she asks.

"Oh man, I just really wanted to surprise you," Anthony says, sadly. "I got us a capsule at the London Eye."

"Oh my goodness, Anthony! You did not!" Jazzy squeals.

"I did. I- uh, I don't know. I just can't believe that I wasn't even able to get you there."

"Ant, you're not even using a map. I'm impressed that you got this close. You know that you never have to try to impress me, right?"

"What do you mean?"

"You could literally just bring a bag of potato chips to my hotel room and tell me we are watching a movie for our date, and I'd be happy. I'm never going to be less head-over-heels in love with you, Ant," Jazzy tells him.

Instead of replying, Anthony just grabs Jazzy, picks her up in his arms, and pulls her into a kiss.

"Now, which way do we go?" Anthony asks, setting Jazzy back down on the ground.

"Go to the end of this street, and turn right, then walk straight ahead and we should meet the river. From there, turn left and we just walk about another quarter mile, I think, and then we should be there."

"You're a lifesaver, you know that?" Anthony asks. Jazzy giggles.

"I don't know if I'd go quite that far," she says, letting Anthony lead her down the street.

They make their reservations at the London Eye just in time.

"You two are on the Cupid's Capsule package, correct?" an attendant asks them before they get on.

"Yes, we are," Anthony replies.

"Okay, so you two get champagne and chocolates. I'll be right back with those," she replies.

"Ant, you didn't have to do that!" Jazzy exclaims.

"I know, but I wanted to," he tells her.

"You're incredible, did you know that?" Jazzy asks, and Anthony blushes.

The lady brings the two their glasses of champagne, as well as the rest of the bottle, and a huge box of chocolates.

"Enjoy the ride, you two," she says, smiling, as she shuts the door to the pod, leaving Jazzy and Anthony alone.

By the time that the two of them reach the top of the ferris wheel, the sun is set, and the city lights are glistening against the river.

"Oh, Anthony, it's so gorgeous," Jazzy says, taking a deep breath.

"It is," Anthony agrees. He takes a deep breath, and knows that this is his moment. "Jazzy?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you know how much I love you?"

"I think so," Jazzy smiles.

"Well, I don't think that you know that I love you this much," Anthony tells her, getting down on his knee. He pulls a small box out of his pocket. "I was hoping that you would let me show you, though. Will you marry me, Jasmine Cephas Jones?"

He opens the box to reveal a silver ring with a flower-shaped diamond in the center; the petals and leaves intertwining and wrapping around the band.

Tears form in Jazzy eyes, as she clasps her hands over her mouth. She is left speechless. All that she can do is nod, and Anthony breaks into a big smile. Jazzy jumps up in the air like a little kid, and then, Anthony stands up and slips the ring onto her finger. The two of them kiss, with the city lights glittering behind them.

"I love you, Ant," Jazzy whispers. "Thank you so much for making me the happiest girl in the world."

"I love you too, Jas. I can't wait until I get to call you mine forever."

"You already can, babe," Jazzy tells Anthony. "You stole my heart from the first moment I looked at you."

Anthony kisses Jazzy cheek, and then, the two of them sit down on the bench, in a wonderful silence, watching the city go by. Jazzy rests her head on Anthony's shoulder, and Anthony holds Jazzy's hand and cuddles up next to her so that their sides are touching. Neither of them want the moment to ever end.
