Chapter 39
Jazzy threw on comfortable clothes after the show and returned to the hotel room to check on Pippa. The lamp by Pippa's bed was on, but Pippa was curled up away from the light.
"Pippa?" Jazzy whispered.
Pippa's head lifted up from the pillow. "How was the show?" she asked.
"It went well. Carleigh did a nice job, but I missed you. How are you feeling?"
"I'm so cold and I feel like crap," Pippa said. Jazzy went over to sit on the edge of Pippa's bed.
"I'm sorry, Pip," Jazzy said, hugging her friend. She could feel Pippa shaking and her forehead felt like it was burning up. "You need to see a doctor."
Pippa didn't answer, and just burrowed into Jazzy's shoulder. They stayed like that for a few minutes, and Pippa's shaking got slightly better. Jazzy felt so bad for Pippa. She'd been sick so much over the course of the tour, and she seemed so miserable.
"I'm going to take a shower," Jazzy said after a few minutes. "I'm all gross and sweaty, but then I'll come back."
Pippa just nodded and let go of Jazzy.
Jazzy took her shower quickly and put on her 'And Peggy' shirt and flannel pajama pants and then got her blanket from her bag. She sat down next to Pippa and draped her blanket over them both.
"Do you want to watch a movie or do you just want to sleep?" Jazzy asked.
"It's impossible to go to sleep right now," Pippa said, her voice muffled by the pillow she had burrowed her face in.
"What do you want to watch?"
"I don't know, you can pick something."
"Alright. We can watch Pitch Perfect," Jazzy said. She got out her iPad and set it up. Pippa adjusted herself so that her head was in Jazzy's lap and the blanket was tucked around her.
"You look like a burrito, Pippa," Jazzy gently teased. Pippa rolled her eyes.
They watched some of the movie and Jazzy could tell that Pippa was starting to warm up, thankfully. At first Jazzy thought she'd finally fallen asleep, but she could see the light of the iPad glinting off Pippa's eyes, so she wasn't sleeping.
"Are you feeling better?" Jazzy asked once the movie was over.
Pippa shrugged.
"Why don't you go to sleep. You don't have to move," Jazzy suggested. Pippa nodded. Jazzy turned out the light and grabbed her phone.
Jazzy scrolled through Instagram and Twitter for a while and then put her phone away. She gently adjusted Pippa so she could lie down.

The next day was a two-show day. Jazzy left the hotel room before Pippa woke up and she got ready in Jessa and Kaitlyn's room so she didn't bother her.
"I think Carleigh's going to have to go on for Pippa again," Jazzy admitted to Jessa.
Jessa was halfway through curling a section of her hair. "I feel so bad for Pippa," Jessa admitted. "She goes through so much."
"I know. She's strong," Jazzy agreed.
"I forgot to tell you guys, but Brett invited me out on a date!" Kaitlyn exclaimed suddenly. "He's taking me out to a restaurant tomorrow."
"That's amazing!" Jazzy squealed. "You're going to have so much fun! Congratulations!"
"It's just a date, Jazzy," Kaitlyn laughed.
"But it's still really exciting! My ship is sailing!"
"You need to calm down, Jazzy," Kaitlyn chided. Jazzy rolled her eyes.
"You need to get more excited! It's Brett we're talking about! You guys are like the cutest couple ever!" Jazzy said.
"No, you and Anthony are cuter," Kaitlyn reminded her. "You are goals. Honestly."
"You're such a cinnamon roll, Kaitlyn."
"What's a cinnamon roll?" Kaitlyn asked. Jazzy mock-gasped.
"You don't know what a cinnamon roll is? Oh my gosh, the fans are going to freak out when they learn that you don't know what being a cinnamon roll means," Jazzy squealed.
"But what is it?" Kaitlyn asked, while searching for bobby pins.
"It means that you're precious and too good for this world. You're pure and fluffy and just SQHDFAHJDAAA," Jazzy explained, making an awkward pterodactyl screech on the end. Kaitlyn raised her eyebrows.
"I didn't quite catch the end of that, Jazzy," she said.
"I'm not making that noise again, you heard it the first time. No command performances," Jazzy said haughtily.
"We should probably go to the theatre," Jessa reminded Jazzy and Kaitlyn.
They grabbed their bags. Jazzy poked her head in her and Pippa's hotel room and Pippa was still sleeping, so she left without waking her friend up.
Pippa needed as much sleep as she could get.
