Chapter 35

After their last show, they took their final bows on the beautiful stage. It was sad for Pippa. She loved Austria. It had been an amazing experience, and she would miss it.

But Beijing seemed so much closer now. Pippa had packed and was ready to board their private plane to China. She'd never been to China before. She was thrilled.

Making up with Jazzy had lifted a huge weight off Pippa's shoulders. Jazzy meant so much to her, and arguing had cast an ugly shadow over Pippa's life that she never wanted to see again. On the other hand, Jazzy was now being extremely standoffish with Lana.

"Well, cast, are you ready for China?" Lin asked when the plane was about to take off.

"YES!"everyone shouted.

"Good. It's bound to be a wonderful run of shows. I am so excited to be working with you guys," Lin said happily. His face turned serious. "I want to remind you all that I will be leaving after London. This means that Brett will replace me. Wes will become the primary Hamilton understudy, and then I'll be hiring a new ensemblist to also understudy Hamilton."

They all nodded.

"Anyway, enjoy your flight. It's going to be a while," Lin said, sitting back down.

Pippa pulled out her script again and started going over her lines and the music.

"You don't need to be going over lines, Pippa," Jazzy scolded.

"You never know."

"Don't overstudy though."

"I won't, don't worry," Pippa laughed.

They chatted for awhile and then Pippa decided to listen to music and try and rest. She put on her Disney playlist and went to sleep.

When they landed, the temperature difference between Austria and China was amazing. Pippa liked Austria's weather better. In China, she could almost taste the polluted air, whereas in Austria, it seemed so much clearer.

They checked through customs and then took a bus to their hotel.

The girls decided to take it easy for the day. They went to a huge conference room that the hotel had set aside for the Hamilton cast and played games. Jessa taught them all how to play Dutch Blitz, and things got pretty intense. Ariana was super competitive and even elbowed people out of the way to lay down her cards. Somehow Jessa still always won, even if Ariana cheated a little bit.

"Who wants to play Disney Sorry?" Kaitlyn asked.

"NO ONE WANTS TO PLAY SORRY WITH YOU KAITLYN," Jazzy exclaimed. "YOU WIN EVERY SINGLE TIME AND IT'S ANNOYING."

"I don't cheat!" Kaitlyn protested. She flipped her hair. "You guys just lack the superb talent that I have."

"That's so not true," Jazzy said.

"Then play Sorry and we'll see who has the talent!" Kaitlyn laughed.

"Okay, you want to go?" Jazzy said. Kaitlyn found the Disney Sorry box and started setting up the pieces.

"I call green," she said.

"What if I want to be green?" Jazzy demanded.

"I called it first," Kaitlyn said. "You can be whichever of the three colors left."

"Fine, I'll be red. The villains," Jazzy said. "Pippa, you should play."

Pippa looked over from where she was playing an intense round of Spoons with Jessa, Araella, and Dani. "I will-"

Just as she took her eyes away from the game, Jessa swiped her spoon out of the pile and Araella and Dani took the remaining two spoons. "You lost, Pippa!" Jessa exclaimed.

"Crap," Pippa said.

Brett walked into the room. "Hey, ladies," he said. "Mind if I join?"

"Sure! You can play Sorry with us!" Kaitlyn said. "You'll be the yellow Princesses."

"All right," Brett laughed.

They continued to play games the entire day. Cast members trickled in and out, but most of them stayed for a long time. Brett finally beat Kaitlyn in Sorry, and Jazzy gloated the entire night about that.

Eventually, the cast dispersed for dinner. Pippa, Jazzy, Jessa, and Araella went to the restaurant inside the hotel. The food was extremely good.

Pippa and Jazzy returned to their room after dinner to chill out and just talk. Pippa flopped on her bed and scrolled through her social media. So did Jazzy. Occasionally they would make a comment or two to each other.

"Pippa, do you have any crushes on the guys in this cast?" Jazzy asked. Pippa put her phone down.

"Where did that come from?" Pippa demanded.

"I don't know. I want to play matchmaker like we did with Kaitlyn and Brett. They're so adorable. I clearly have a talent for it," Jazzy said, shrugging.

"No, I don't. They're all extremely nice, but the single life isn't as bad as I thought it would be. It's a lot less stress and requires a lot less effort," Pippa said.

"You'll only say that until you find someone who really loves you," Jazzy told her.

"That's a lie. I think I'll always prefer to be alone," Pippa replied.

"I don't know, Pippa. You don't know what you're missing. Love can bring you more happiness than you can imagine. You just have to give it a chance," Jazzy said.

"We'll see, Jaz," Pippa laughed.
