Chapter 117

Jazzy's wrist finally felt well enough to rejoin the shows. She watched it from the audience for about a week straight, and she was getting impatient. Jessa was doing an amazing job with Peggy and Maria, at least.

"Ready?" Pippa asked Jazzy as they put on their makeup for the show. Jazzy sighed deeply.

"Yeah," she said.

"What's wrong, Jazzy? I can tell that something's off," Pippa said, setting her makeup brush down.

"I'm just apprehensive about starting the show again..." Jazzy told Pippa. "I've just been away for a while, and I'm scared that something will go wrong again. I don't want to hurt my wrist again."

"Aw, Jazzy, you'll be okay. When I hurt my wrist, it was hard for me, too. Just don't think about it too hard, and trust what you know. What happened before was just a fluke. That whole show was awful. It wasn't a common thing at all. It won't happen again."

"I know, but I'm just nervous. I don't want to disappoint people."

"Jasmine Cephas Jones, you would never disappoint anyone. You're such an amazing Peggy and Maria. You're flawless, never doubt that."

"Thanks, Pippa. By the way, did you ever find out what happened between Jessa and Lana?" Jazzy asked.

"What do you mean? You know Lana confessed," Pippa said confusedly.

"I mean, during the show. They were both on as Schuyler sisters. I wasn't sure how awkward it would be, with their chemistry and everything."

"They were fine, but it was really, really awkward backstage. I made them talk it out, and apparently Jessa said that she was interested, but she wouldn't date Lana until she was ready."

Jazzy grinned. "I ship them so much, honestly. Lana deserves someone who respects her, and Jessa is being so generous and considerate."

"I know, it's so sweet. They both deserve an amazing relationship."

Before Jazzy knew it, the opening bars were playing to 'Schuyler Sisters', and Pippa gave her one last hug before stepping onstage. Lana flashed a grin at Jazzy before they walked on.

As soon as she got onstage, her worries disappeared. This was what she was comfortable was. As much as she liked sitting in the audience, she lived for performing.

The song ended and the sisters dashed offstage to change.

"You were great, Jazzy," Pippa reassured Jazzy as soon as they ran off. "See, no problems at all."

"Yeah, you didn't need to worry at all," Lana chimed in.

"Thanks, it means a lot," Jazzy said gratefully. "Well, I'm going to get my water bottle."

The rest of the show went by quickly. Jazzy stood backstage and watched the ensemble dance for a while, standing next to Daniel.

"They're really good," Daniel commented.

"I know, and it looks even cooler from in the audience. You should watch them sometime, just you can see what it's like from the seats. Sometimes it's easier to see what the choreography is supposed to mean when you've actually seen the show," Jazzy suggested.

"Thanks, maybe I will. I'm glad that your wrist is better," Daniel said.

"I am too, honestly," Jazzy laughed. "I hated doing nothing."

"Also, what was the drama about Jessa and Lana?" Daniel asked. "Rhyme not intended."

"Oh, it wasn't a big deal. Jessa was just confused about something Lana had said, but they talked it out. It's fine now," Jazzy said.

"Oh, okay. That's good," Daniel said. He looked around to see if anyone else was listening. "Okay, this may seem really, weird and all, but am I the only one who thinks that they should be dating?"

Jazzy laughed. "No, you're not. Most of the cast wants them to get together, but they're not quite there yet. Soon, I hope, though."

Daniel started blushing. "I, um, also wanted to ask you something."

Jazzy frowned.

"Okay...?"

"I wanted to know if Carleigh is single," Daniel said. "Like, I get that if she isn't, and I didn't just want to ask her, and I was trying to figure it out without just asking someone, but-"

"Calm down, you don't need to explain. She is single. And you two would be a good couple. I'm sure she would be chill about it if you asked her out," Jazzy reassured him.

Daniel looked relieved. "Thank you, Jazzy. She seems amazing, but I didn't want to be too forward, you know? I just joined the cast, but she's been so nice."

"Of course, anytime. I can put in a good word for you, if you want."

"No, I'd rather do it myself, if you understand? But thanks for the offer. Have a great show," Daniel said, before walking away.

Jazzy smiled to herself. Everyone seemed to be happy at the same time now. Getting rid of James was one of the best things to happen to the tour cast, that was for sure.
