First of all, thank you so much for picking up this little story. I can't express how much I appreciate your taking some time to read my work.

I should tell you that the novella you're about to read is inspired by an actual incident. It is far from a true story, let alone a record of a real-life event. I simply put that one incident at the story's core and wrote around it. So it is, for the most part, fiction.

The incident happened more than a decade ago when I was in boarding school so details are blurry. Regardless, I hope you'll find your time to be well-spent when you finish the last chapter.
