(Please keep in mind I don't think this will be a spoiler to White Ears my Koneko story. I wanted to try to keep it spoiler free and think I did a decent job at it.)

Christmas for the Gremory House is something taken seriously. It's very ironic that Devils would celebrate Christmas. However, Rias looked at it as a time period where everyone would have a week or two on and off to get together and be merry with one another. As a little girl her parents showed her what the tradition was. Then as she got older, it came to her a few important factors and lessons of learning. One, she was one of the few in her peerage to have both of her parents. Let alone in a good relationship with them. And then two that when it came to gift giving, it had to be something special for the individual. She could use magic to create anything. Then there was the special touch such as helping one of the girls find her dream dress or helping the guys achieve this goal. 

When it came to Koneko (FN) thought long and hard about it. As soon as December hit he laid down and thought over and over until he went to consult Rias. What does a guy do for his cat girl? The answer is so complicated. Especially compared to the other girls. It wouldn't be a dress, underwear, lingerie, or a perfume bottle. Even something small like chocolate or some sort of treat would be more of a throw-in. Confused, he made an appointment with Rias in the office inside the manor. She didn't use it much, but it beat waiting for the ORC building desk where there was no real privacy. 

"So, what's this all about? You seem troubled." Asked Rias.

"Well Rias, I'm having a hard time trying to figure out a few gift ideas for Koneko. You know what time of year it is. I've been trying to think about it for a week and sometimes even Koneko jumped in my lap and tried to have me talk about it. It wasn't me being sad or anything, just trying to figure it out."

"And you thought I could help?" She smirked.

"Thought you would be the best one to go to. Akeno is out, Xenovia doubtful, Asia unsure. Then there is you."

"Smart boy. Good good. I don't think it would be a trip to Vickie's either." She shook her head.

"I said the same thing."

"That's a tough one. But, I will get back to you. Stay quiet. I'll call you when it's ready. Think shapes. I'll tell you that much. Oh, and what do you tell her that makes her feel special?" Rias was taking notes. She had something in mind. 

"I tell her, 'I love you forever' I think that's a good one."

"Oh trust me, it's perfect. Now I got to go make a run. So I will see you soon. Keep that woman occupied until I get back and have my sources take care of this." Rias summoned herself a circle. "Now meet me back here in an hour. Tell her that it's a pact or something."

"Okay then. I'll say you needed a guy's opinion on something. Make it easy." He nodded and turned around to make his exit. "So, basically I am asking you for a wish? That how this all works?"

"Well, I can read your mind and as well as thoughts. You want to give her something special and something that a woman gets all giddy for and yet, you know it's not something like the others. I think I have the other piece of the bridge to get to the other side. I'm saving you time and you wouldn't have time to go to the stories with her wanting to be cuddly with you. You knew I was your key to this and I am going all in for you. Sound about right?" She winked at him.

"I, yes. Yes Rias. Thank you." He smiled and left the room.

The day came. Actually, the night. Rias and Akeno recall a magical Christmas story that involved everyone taking an afternoon nap and then having Christmas Eve going into midnight and having a grand time until sunrise. When the clock struck midnight, everyone would exchange gifts. Which came down to it when Koneko and Asia were enjoying pieces of cake as (FN) and Issei were about to present their gifts to them. 

Koneko in her cute Santa dress smiled. Receiving a box that was the size of shoe box. "New shoes Dear?" She asked.

"You'll see." He tried not to smirk. Doing his best to keep quiet.

Koneko pulled the wrapping and looked at the box. It was indeed a shoe box. A box that used to belong to a set of heels that belonged to Akeno. "Hm. Heels? Okay." Lifting up the box to see her favorite chocolate bars. "Oh. Sweets. Nice."

"Miiiight want to take those out really quick." (FN) pointed out.

"Okay Dear." Koneko one by one started to take the bars out of the box. Towards the center there was a tiny white box. A small, square white jewelry box. She held it up and gasped. Koneko wasn't expecting jewelry. She hung her mouth open as she opened it up to see a white-gold heart. "Honey..."

"Might want to open it." Standing there with a wide smile.

Rias walked up behind him. "After a few trips and adjustments, you made her holiday." She whispered.

"About to find out." He smiled and took a breath. 

Koneko opened up the heart. "It's a locket? Okay. She opened it to see a picture of a lock with words on it. "I love you forever..." There was a small pause to process everything. Jewelry wasn't something she used much. Perhaps it was because there wasn't any sentimental value. However, she also never received anything like this. 

"So, may I put that on?"

A silver tear could be seen on her face. "Please. I love it."

"This was meant to be." (FN) smiled and walked over to give her a kiss. "Turn around Kitty. I got you."

"Nyah." She giggled and turned around.

After putting the necklace on she turned around and hugged into his chest. "This is the best gift I could ever ask for."

Rias gave a wink and thumbs up and went to attend to Issei and Asia. Although Koneko didn't want to let go anytime soon. Wanting to just dance around happily knowing that her holiday season has been made. Her lover giving her the magic she wanted. Something close to the heart. One that fills the heart and the hand at the same time. She danced and was ever so cute in her Santa dress. Energy that was hard to replicate.

Akeno looked over at Rias and saw (FN) and Koneko dancing next to the Christmas tree. "Want to fill me in?"

"We both went to Tanaka. She's got a heart locket with a special message in there. He asked, I gave ideas, and he picked out everything start to finish. Nice having a Devil jeweler is it nice to make certain things the way they are meant to be. Crafted instead of produced. You can't buy a special moment like they are having, but seeing her eyes light up and closing her eyes dancing with him by the tree really makes them stand out. He outdid himself this Christmas and she's over the moon. Even her ears are showing."

(FN) petted Koneko's ears as they continued to dance. "Merry Christmas Love."

"Thanks Baby. Merry Christmas."

I've thought about this for so long and finally was able to get this off my chest. For years. Only catch was what to gift. And I hope I figured it out. Thanks for everything and enjoy.
