Ch. 11: Molly
Wade watched over the warehouse as police and firemen raided in on the burning building. It didn't take them long to put out the fires, nor did it take long to find all the goodies Wade had left for them. They took Stallone and all his boys away to the precincts and collected everything they could. Then, they had to make more trips and call for more support to collect the rest of the evidence. Wade knew he did good. He probably even solved one of the biggest issues this city faced. He felt proud of his work and could not believe he had only done this for two nights now. He was already making such a big impact in the beginning stage of his career, there was no telling what he would do in a year now. To make this day better, the night was still fairly young and there was plenty of other good deeds Wade could carry out.
So, he left the warehouse and did some regular patrolling. He stopped a few petty crimes while he was out before feeling the urge to go use the bathroom. He mentally kicked himself in the head for not thinking to go before he suited up. It also didn't help that he drank a soda beforehand. Wade started to panic as he didn't have like a hatch or anything, and he couldn't undress out in the open either; way too many risk. He didn't have any other choice, he needed to sneak in somewhere no one could see him and do his business. Wade found a building that had an entrance at the top of it. The building didn't seem to have anyone inside, so he decided to give it a shot. He entered through the roof entrance and carefully sneaked his way in. He made sure there truly was nobody in the building before he began searching for the men's room, cussing more than a bit as he did. He found it in a short amount of time, although it didn't seem like it, and turned on the lights and jumped in the first stall he saw. The bathroom was large with white tiles, rows of stalls on both sides and a wall of mirrors and sinks in the middle of it. Wade got out of his suit as quickly as he could and was finally able to relieve himself. The only downside to it was having to put all of that crap back on after just taking it all off! Wade blew out a sigh as he finished and began strapping the suit back on. He mumbled and cussed even more to himself as he did, not believing and not happy about this stupid situation he got himself into. He got himself and everything together before he began to leave. But once he opened the door...
*POW!*
The door got knocked back into him, sending him tumbling back and sitting on the toilet. Luckily, he wasn't really affected by the hit, just got forced back. He was even prepared and ready when the man who had kicked the door at him entered the stall. He was a tall, well built man with a suit and trench coat, pointing a glock with a silencer right at Wade's face. The red suited crusader didn't plan on waiting to see what this guy wanted. He forced the gun holding hand into the side of the metal stall, a hammer-like sound echoing as a bullet shot past Wade, before elbow the gunman in the face. This threw the offender off long enough to relieve him of his weapon and side kick him out of stall. Wade proceeded to capitalize and go on the offensive attack, but this guy's partner suddenly popped up with a gun in Wade's face. Wade put the second gunman in an arm lock before knocking the gun out of his hand. The second guy started punching at Wade's side, which wasn't as patted as the rest of him, while being kept in the arm lock. Wade knocked him back with an elbow before being kicked back into the stall by the first attacker. Wade stayed on his feet as he fought him off inside the stall, blocking his blows before delivering hard shots to the body and an elbow-uppercut. Wade followed it up with a left forearm shot that drove the attacker's head into the stall, and then a right hook that smacked him into the other side of the stall before kicking him out. Once Wade himself stepped out of the stall, the attacker's partner came back with a kick to the gut, causing Wade to bend over enough to get trapped in a headlock. Wade pushed his captor back and got a hold of his leg, landing a few good hits to the thigh and knee before delivering a hard punch to the groin. This had not only caused the perpetrator to loosen his own grip, but also allowed Wade to put his own headlock on him and turn it into a vertical suplex. The attacker landed hard on his back and Wade felt like a super-strong badass wrestler. He back-rolled to where he was straddling the guy's waist and began punching away. It wasn't long however before his partner came back with a punt to Wade's face, knocking him off. He then grabbed Wade by the side pointers of his crown, pulling him up and throwing him into the wall between the sinks. Wade smacked hard against the wall before receiving a straight kick against it for good measure. The attacker proceeded to unload on Wade with multiple punches and forearm shots. Wade was able to defend himself to a point, though still felt the shots, before countering with his own punches, forearms and even kicks. He then drove a knee into the attacker's gut before slamming his head into the wall. He then slammed it straight through the sink itself. He turned back to his partner, who was kneeling on the floor and taking out the smaller gun he had strapped to his ankle. Wade jumped into a roll before the guy started shooting. He did a quick slide towards the shooter before kicking his gun away and hooking his legs around his arm, pulling him face-flat to the floor and putting him in another armlock. After giving it a nice squeeze, a little tug and a little twist, the attacker's arm snapped, earning a nice painful scream that echoed through the bathroom. Wade then released his arm and stood, grabbing the guy by his tie and pulling him up.
"Who are you?" Wade questioned and the guy looked scared but didn't break. "Answer me! Who are you?!" he shook him this time.
However, the guy didn't have time to answer, nor did Wade have time to wait for it. Two more armed assailants entered the bathroom, each one carrying an Uzi. Wade shoved the guy back to the floor before he took off running. He took cover in the stalls once they started shooting at him. He crouched down and started sliding himself under the rows of stalls. Bullets continued flying over him for a moment until the bad guys had to reload. Then, one of them ordered the other to go around the wall and try to flank him. The lead man himself sneakily went down to the end of the stalls, knowing his target had to be in the last two. He peaked under the stalls just to make sure, but couldn't see him anywhere. He furrowed his eyebrows and continued moving to the last stall, more carefully now. Turns out, Wade was in the third to last stall, and kicked it open once he heard the guy get close enough. The impact smacked him back, dropping his gun, before Wade jumped out for a running knee, knocking him into his partner just as he arrived. Wade knocked the first guy out of the way with a backhand strike and left hook before blocking the second guy's gun. He then drove his knee to the gut and landed a straight elbow before relieving him of his Uzi. The gunman then wrapped his arm around Wade and pulled him back in a sleeper hold. He pulled him around so his partner, who was already up and ready, could start laying in to Wade. But all he got was kicked away before his partner got flipped over Wade's head, landing hard on the floor. Wade then had a minute to regain his breath before the lead man assisted his partner back up. He moved to the side of them, by the mirrors, as they both got up and re-readied themselves.
"Guys, whatever your reasons, it's not worth it. You can still walk away" he tried to reason.
"That's not really an option for us" the lead man said.
Wade just shrugged before getting into a fight pose, which his two adversaries did as well. Now, it was all a matter of who made the first move. It was the lead man on the right who went for a kick. Wade blocked it and shoved him back before his partner on the left went for his own attack. Wade blocked his shots before sending him back as well with a kick. The first man then came at him and caught him in an arm and headlock. Wade used the guy's moment with his own strength and reversed it into a backflip, taking him to the ground. Wade kept him down with a chop to the throat before standing back up to fight off his partner. He blocked his kick and his forearm shots before the assailant went for a left hook. Wade caught his arm and flipped him over his shoulder, sending him crashing into one of the mirrors. Shattered glass fell to the floor as he bounced off the wall, his head hitting the sink, and landed on the floor. Wade thought that was it for him until he retaliated with a kick to his shin. The attacker on the ground then managed to rip out the pipe under the sink and got up to start swinging at Wade. He dodged all of the attacks before blocking the last one and putting him into an armbar. He then went around his back and brought the pipe up to his neck for a chokehold. Wade used all the strength he could to put the guy to sleep while keeping him contained. His captive used all of his own strength to resist and break free. He was assisted by his partner, who kicked Wade in the back of the leg while he was on the floor, and allowed for him to back Wade up into the wall behind them. He then drove his elbow repeatedly into Wade's side. The noble crusader had no choice but to release his capture, who tried to fight back once he was free, but got knocked and kicked away instead. As for his partner, he rose to his feet in time just as the other guy got knocked away and connected with left and right hooks to his jaw. This guy was decently fast with his attacks. Wade even had some trouble blocking and retaliating. He managed, however, to make the guy hit his crown, hurting his hand and allowing for Wade to counterattack. He unloaded on his assailant with rapid punches and kicks until he dropped him to a knee with another arm lock. He kneed and punched him in the face before kicking him away. His partner then came back with a hard tackle, taking Wade to the floor. He tried punching at his target, only to be captured in a grounded submission hold. He repeatedly brought his elbow down into Wade's other side and Wade tightened his grip. Although, he eventually did need to throw him off before he became to weak to hold him. Once he did, Wade jumped to his feet while his opponent was still on his knees and finished him with a spinning roundhouse. Now that he was no longer being attacked, Wade tried to regain his breath once again. However, when he walked past the lead man, he was trying to get back to his feet and fight back.
Wade sighed before saying, "For the love of God" and side kicked him into the stall. He wasn't getting up after that impact.
"Is it an option for you now?" Wade mockingly joked.
Wade left the bathroom, which was fairly trashed, and was planning to go back out through the roof. But he saw a few more gunmen in the distance, seen only by their flashlights in the dark. Wade took off towards the windows as they shouted and fired at him. He bursted through the window and glided all the way to the next building, bursting through that window as well. There was a lady there who gasped as Wade tumbled through. He quickly regained his stance and casually nodded towards the civilian.
"Pardon me ma'am, it's such a nice night for skydiving" he said before walking away, the lady having no words whatsoever.
This time, Wade was actually able to get to the roof of the building he was in now. He was followed by at least a few other strange looks besides that woman when he made his way through. Now that he was alone and no longer fighting, he had the chance to try and heal himself from all those hits he took. That, and reflect on what all just happened. Who were those guys? And where did they come from? They weren't just some hired muscle for the mob, those were trained killers, highly trained killers at that. Wade could even say they were too well trained. No average fighter, or even a decent fighter, would've been able to fend off any one of those guys, let alone all of them. Had it not been for Wade's advanced fighting skills, those guys would've had him. Yes, the mob is known for hiring hitmen, but those guys were way too good, too skilled and too smart to just be simple mob assassins. Not to mention, how did those guys find him? Let alone, so quickly? And most of all, how did they stay on him so well? There was so many questions and no way of answering them.
It didn't matter now. They were gone, Wade was safe, and if they ever did come back, Wade would just beat them up again. For now, he could relax, but not too much. Those guys could still be looking for him and he didn't want to get caught again. So, he was just going to stay here and wait it out for a bit. Besides, he had a nice view to keep him occupied. The building Wade was standing on was across from a big fancy hotel down the street. There, he could see a newly wedded couple celebrating their big happy day. They were starting to leave the hotel while all their friends cheered, hugged, kissed and celebrated with them. Wade smiled as he watched the joyous moment happen before him. It made him happy to know that some part of this city hadn't been affected by all the bad things that were happening; some part that was still happy and good.
He was brought out of his thoughts when he heard that strange flapping noise again. He had also heard it while watching over the warehouse earlier. What was causing that weird freakin noise?! Wade still didn't see anything around him. He hoped he wasn't going crazy. Since he still couldn't see anything, he just forgot about it and went back to watching the post-marriage party, back into the joyous feeling it gave him.
However, he also got that feeling of absence again, like there was something missing from his life. Wade hadn't thought about it in so long, but he missed that feeling of having someone special. He had some past relationships that had the potential to be his permanent one, but all were a hit and miss. Wade had actually been love searching before Mark and Jack called for his helped one year ago. It was crazy how he hadn't even realized until now, how he had completely forgotten about all that and didn't remember until now. What was he to do now? Pick back up on it? Squeeze that with being Lordminion777? At this point, it would be even harder and more complicated. But then again, it could give Wade some stability in his life. However, getting that while at this current point in his life seemed more than difficult; probably not even possible. Standing up on that roof by himself and watching that newly wedded couple, Wade suddenly started to feel lonely and wondered about something.
"Who would want to marry me?"
"I would"
Wade froze at the sound of a woman's voice, but only for a second. He spun around to see who else was with him. He only caught a brief glimpse of a full body-armored suit before it launched something at him. It was a grappling hook with electric shocks. Wade grunted as he dropped to his knees with his arms restrained. The shocks stung and burned through Wade's body, but his suit managed to keep him from feeling all of it.
"Of course, if I didn't have to do this, obviously, because you're actually kind of cute. But, business is business" the woman in the armored suit said, in a casual and innocent manor.
Whatever part of Wade that wasn't in pain was confused. This lady was crazy and he had no idea what to make of this. But who was she? Where did she come from? And where did she get that suit? It was all black and looked highly advanced, not to mention expensive. There was no telling what kind of tech it was, or what kind it was packing. The helmet that she wore with it was a combination of fighter pilot and racecar driver. It was metal all around just like the suit was, except for the protective glass that covered the eyes and the breathing mask covering the mouth. The suit did at least have a jetpack because the next thing Wade new, they were taking off while he was still hooked. Wade screamed as they lifted off. He didn't know where she was taking him but didn't want to either. He had to escape and do it fast. He concentrated hard through the pain, fighting through it with all of his might, to channel his energy into his strength and break free from his restraints. Wade shouted as he broke free from the grappling hook. He used his agility and telekinesis to better levitate himself and land nice, easy and safely on the roof of the hotel. He tumbled a little across the roof before coming to a stop, but it was no biggie. However, he knew his captor would come back for him. He had already heard her cursing when he broke free and also heard her circling back. Wade was on his feet and ready when she landed on the roof. She rose both of her arms towards Wade like she was aiming at him. He noticed that her right arm had some type of circular automatic weapon on it with laser beams targeting Wade's direction. He couldn't tell what she had on her other arm, but it had to be something even bigger.
"Stand down and don't test me!" she ordered.
"Mmm" Wade replied, finding her hard-pressing toughness quite attractive.
He took charge at her and she opened fire. He slid under the bullets and through her legs before jumping to his feet. By the time she turned around, Wade jumped into a spin-kick, but only bounced off her and hit the ground with a hard thud. Wade grunted from not only the fall, but from the effect he felt on his leg.
"Wow, you're an idiot" she mocked. She then lifted him up by the neck and held him up firmly. "Last chance before mommy stops playing nice"
Wade couldn't help but laugh from the remark.
"I hafta admit, I like you, and I'm real sorry about this" he pushed her back with his telekinesis until she hit the wall of the roof entrance. Wade landed firmly on his feet after being let go while keeping her there, holding her securely as she struggled.
"Hey! What the fuck?!" she shouted, not knowing how he was holding her there without even touching her. "Ah! Damnit! What the hell is this?! Are you like... using the force or something?!"
"Something like that" Wade laughed, thoroughly impressed by this girl. "Wow, who are you?"
"I'm not at liberty to say" she replied.
"Not at lib-wha-what is this? What is going on here and why are you after me?" he asked, but the armored fighter just continued to struggle. Wade needed to try and connect with her somehow. So, he took a bold step in doing so.
"Alright, alright, look at me, just look, please" he requested and she did.
He lifted his mask/crown up and off his head, revealing his true self, showing her he was just a regular guy.
"I just wanna talk, like grownups. I've had a really long and very confusing night and I just want some answers. I do not wanna fight" he said with a gentle tone, and it seemed like he was reaching her. Of course, it was hard to tell with her helmet on. "Here, just let me..." he cautiously stepped closer, his left hand holding her while his right hand moved to her helmet.
In that moment, his captive froze as she anxiously watched his hand draw closer. Wade was able to find the lock and hook of her helmet. He undid them and gently lifted the helmet up. Once it was removed, it revealed the stunning face of the woman behind it. She had smooth white skin, brown eyes, cute puffy cheeks and gracefully long blonde hair that dropped and dangled from the removal of her helmet. The sight of her left Wade speechless, as well as at a loss for breath.
"Hi" he said.
"Hi" she shyly replied.
Wade had to take in a breath before continuing.
"My name is Wade" he introduced, but she seemed hesitant about responding. "You only have to give me your first name, and it doesn't even need to be a real one" he assured, and she only hesitated for another moment before answering.
"Molly"

"Sir, the subject appears to have detained Foxtrot44" Lieutenant Benson informed as General Chambers observed the satellite and camara footages behind him.
"Damnit, this one's a little more persistent than I thought he would be. And he's certainly got more to him than we gave him credit for. Has he killed her?"
"No sir, it's unclear what's happening now, but she's alive. We need to act fast before something happens"
"And before he can slip away again" he added, remembering the news he heard from those C.I.A. assets that fought Wade in the bathroom. He also remembered they said he used no powers whatsoever, it was all fighting skills. This guy certainly would be anything but an easy takedown.
"Alright, activate protocol. I want the whole nine yards; teams, blockads, lockdowns, all of it"
"Yes sir" Lieutenant Benson said as he typed away.
"And one more thing,"
"Sir?"
"Send in Blades as well"
