Wade pops the question to Ember

Wade was on the train dressed in a windbreaker jacket and he was sitting down nervous and trying not to cry.

He was on his way to Fire Town he was going to see Bernie and Cinder he had a big, important question to ask Bernie. He was nervous but it had to be done, he wished Ember was with him, but she had been busy with her internship so she couldn't make it but said she would join him on Saturday.

He came to Fire Town and saw The Fireplace he took a deep breath and walked into see it was a bit busy, but most fire elements looked up.

''HEY WADE!'' They all shouted.

''Hey guys.'' Wade said smiling.

Bernie came out and smiled seeing the water element.

''Wade! My boy! What brings you here?'' Asked the older fire element.

''Oh, I actually came to see you and Cinder.'' Wade said.

''Oh, that's nice.'' Bernie said as he looked around. ''Where is Ember?''

''She is back in the city; she couldn't come but she is leaving tonight and will be here tomorrow morning. But that's ok because I need to talk to you on an important matter.'' Wade said feeling bubbles in his stomach.

''Well follow me this way. Cinder is sleeping right now.'' Bernie said.

''Oh, well it's alright I mostly came to see you.'' Wade said.

Bernie sat down at the matchmaking table and motioned for Wade to sit, and he did.

''Ok, so what do you need to talk about? Is Ember, ok?'' Asked Bernie.

''She just fine, busy really but um I came here because, well me and Ember love each other, and we've been together for a couple of years, and I was wanting to move our mine and Ember's relationship up. So, I came to ask for your daughter's hand in marriage.'' Wade said feeling confident.

Bernie looked surprised and looked at him. ''You want to marry Ember?''

''Yes, I love her, and we have been talking about it.'' Wade said.

''Why are you asking me first and not her?'' Aske Bernie who looked at the handsome, nervous water guy.

''Because she thinks and talks so highly of you, and I know she would never say yes unless she has her Ashfa blessing.'' Wade said bowing.

Bernie was surprised and impressed by Wade and his actions.

''My boy, if you want to marry Ember you have my permission. You have proven to me you are worthy of my daughter's love. You saved her and taught her to control her temper, you are the best thing she has, and I would be honored to have you as a son in law.'' Bernie said bowing back.

Wade smiled and started crying. Bernie smiled knowing that the boy was happy. ''Thank you so much sir.'' Wade said shaking Bernie's hand.

''You're welcome my boy. You want to stay?'' He asked.

''No, I actually have to go to my old place for a bit to see my family.'' Wade said smiling as they walked out.

''Everyone! Wade here is going to propose to my daughter Ember!'' Bernie shouted.

They all looked and cheered; some were shocked by it as Wade left. He went outside leaving when he heard a voice.

''So, you decided to marry Ember huh?'' He turned and saw Clod who was now a teenager and came over.

''Hey Clod, yeah, I'm going to.'' He smiled.

''I wish I could have won her over, but if you hurt her, you'll hear it from me.'' Clod said threateningly and standing up to Wade who was a head taller.

''I understand and that won't happen.'' Wade promised as he left.

He chuckled a bit. He heard and knew that the little guy had a thing for Ember, and he found it cute.

Later Wade was on his way home thinking about how to pop the question and where. There were two places he could do it at and he was curious to which one would be perfect. The beach where they were filling bags with sand or the small area where they touched and shared a dance.

That evening Ember grabbed her duffle bag and got on the boat as it was heading to Elemental City. She was excited to see her parents, and her someday in laws, but she mostly wanted to hug and see Wade and couldn't wait to see everyone.

Wade had made it to his mom's place and knocked on the door and stepped in.

''WADE!'' Shouted his mom who came over and hugged him.

''MOM!'' He shouted hugging back as they both started crying. ''I'm so happy to see you. So where is that smokey girlfriend of yours?''

''Oh, she is showing up tomorrow and well I did its mom.'' Wade replied.

''Oh, you got her dads permission?'' She asked.

''Yes, I did and I'm going to pop the question tomorrow.'' Wade smiled at his mom.

''I'm so happy for you.'' She started crying.

The next day Ember arrived and decided to go and see Wade first as she took the bus to his place and was greeted by the water guy security guy.

''Hello Ms. Lumen, Wade is expecting you.'' He said smiling.

She smiled and went in and up to the apartment and knocked on the door and Mrs. Ripple answered it with a smile. ''EMBER!'' She hugged the fire girl.

''Hey, is um Wade here?'' She looked around.

''Yes, he's in the bathroom.'' She said as she placed Ember on the chair.

''EMBER!'' She saw Wade and smiled big as he came over and hugged her and she hugged back and they shared a kiss.

''I'm so happy you here.'' Wade smiled happily.

''Same.'' She grins.

''Well, you guys hungry for supper?'' Asked Wade's mom.

''Yes, we are but I thought it would be nice to invite Ember's parents here.'' Wade said.

''That is a great idea, I'll call them.'' She said.

''No, um mom me and Ember will go invite them and be back for supper. Is that ok Ember?'' Asked Wade.

''Sure, that works.'' She smiled.

Wade took Ember's as they took off together.

''So, I thought since we were here, we could go to an old place.'' Wade said.

Ember raised an eyebrow. ''OH, wanting to go down memory lane?''

''Yeah, we hardly come here, and this is the place where we fell in love.'' Wade said holding her hand.

''Yes, it is.'' She smiled and kissed him on the lips.

They began walking and came to the sandy beach and the sun was going down. Ember was in a purple dress and Wade sat down as she sat next to him, and they watched the sunset and water and Ember leans on Wade's shoulder.

''You were right, speaking out did help.'' Ember said as she smiles at him.

''Yeah, and this is the spot I fell in love with you.'' He said.

''Our special place.'' She smiles.

After a couple minutes Ember stood up. ''We should get to my parents before supper.''

She turned and saw Wade was on his knees and she was curious. ''What are you doing Wade?''

''Ember you are the love of my life and I love you so much, you gave me something that people search for all their lives.'' He placed a knee up and brought out the ring.

''Ember Lumen, will you marry me?''

Ember was shocked and she had a couple tears falling down her face at it. ''Yes, I will. As I said I want to spend the rest of my life with you Wade Ripple.'' She said in a broke voice.

He places the fire ring on her and stood up as they shared a sweet kiss both happily engaged.
