Of course, the fashion show Marinette planned went perfectly and smoothly. Actually, she received extra credit for placing Adrien in the show. She earned a near perfect grade for her showcase of designs. Maybe designing with and for Adrien was an idea, but she knows that Adrien wants to be a normal human being for once.
"There is no escaping it, Mari." Adrien smiled sweetly at his laptop camera. "You're a celebrity now." He almost laughed. He watched his lady giggle on the other side of the skype video chat. "I can't wait till you come home."
"I can't wait either. Graduation is...wow, this weekend!" she squealed.
Adrien laughed. "You did it, darling. Congrats. I'm really proud of you."
"Thank you, Adrien." Marinette smiled and pushed some of her hair out of her face. "Couldn't have done it without your intel of the fashion world.
"I'm not the only one to think, Mari." He laughed, leaning on the back of the chair with his hand folded behind his blonde hair. "Now you have a career as a fashion designer. You passed your internship and all, so you will be able to come work with me as soon as you come home." He said.
"I'm excited...but nervous. It is your father's company I'll be working for."
"Aw, don't let him scare you." Adrien spoke up as he straightens out his polo shirt. "Father has the office space ready for you. He's leaving the decoration to you unless you need to special order some office furniture."
"That's awesome." Marinette replied. She glances at the clock and looked back at Adrien. "I need to get ready for my shift at the café. I have a final to study for tonight, so I may not call tonight. Sorry..."
"Don't worry, Bugaboo. This cat will be fine tonight. I have something to tend to."
"Don't have too much fun, okay?" she giggled.
"Of course, my lady. I'll be expecting your goodnight call." He winked.
Marinette hummed in agreement and nodded. "Alright then."
"Have a great day at work, Marinette. Je T'aime."
"Je T'aime, Adrien."
With that, Adrien watched the call end and stretched. He let his head fall back, to which he saw his kwami floating above his head. "Cheese time, buddy?" he asked.
"Yes, but I just want to remind you that you still have half the room to pack up." Plagg spoke.
Adrien sighed and sat up. "I'm not taking everything. Just my computer, desk and chair, bed, tv, stereo, couple book cases, and my couch and table. It's not much."
"Says the rich boy." Plagg said as he flew back to the desk to sit. "If you want to run around as Chat Noir, I suggest you do some packing while I eat cheese."
"Because that's all you ever do." Adrien smirked as he sassed. He then heard a noise at the other side of his bedroom door, as if someone was trying to walk in. He hid his kwami under a towel on his desk and stood out of his chair. When he turned to open the door, he saw his father carrying a handful of large boxes that would require them to tape the ends together.
"Um...Father, you didn't have to carry those boxes like that." Adrien said as he helped put the boxes down in the same corner of the room where the pile of boxes began. A few of them were boxes to the furniture that were in the bedroom.
He was surprised to see his father more often, even though Gabriel just helped the couple rent an affordable apartment for two. Now it was the matter of waiting on Marinette to graduate and packing. He toured the apartment, and knew that his father was going to pay for renovations to the bedrooms such as painting and lighting. He offered to buy new furniture, but Adrien denied the request and said he rather use the furniture both of them already have in their homes. Gabriel respectfully agreed and dropped the matter of buying new furniture.
The father and son started packing up what Adrien wanted to take to the new home, starting with books on the second floor of his room. Even though they were old textbooks his father forced him to study, the small collection of manga slightly bothered Gabriel as he watched Adrien admire the art in the books. Gabriel just shrugged the thought off and continued to pack his son's fencing trophies from the display cases.
The two organized what was going to stay in the estate and what was going to the apartment. Most of the time, Gabriel wondered what kind of life his son had out of modeling. As he looked at the books and decorations of the bedroom, he concluded that his son was no longer a young boy he tried to raise under a strict set of house rules. Of course his son rebelled against him, but he knew Adrien was smarter than most boys in Paris. He raised a gentleman who was soon to be engaged to a beautiful young woman.
"Is everything okay, father?" Adrien questioned as he saw his soft expression of staring down at pictures.
"hm...Oh, I'm fine." Gabriel sighed, wrapping bubble wrap around one of many framed pictures. He knew photographs meant a lot to his son—especially ones of just Adrien and his mother. Gabriel found one photo of the three of them as a happy family...before it came to an end. He felt regret of leaving his son alone to deal with those emotions, figuring he would grow out of the fits of rage and attempts of running away from home. As he finished wrapping bubble wrap of those pictures, he found ones of Adrien and Marinette. Then ones with Adrien and Nino. Then one of all his classmates who were in his very first year of public school. Gabriel was thankful for those who helped Adrien over the years.
"You seemed upset. I thought I would ask." Adrien said as he applied neon green duct tape to a large box.
"I hope you find this process...as a new beginning, Adrien." Gabriel said softly, looking at him. "I don't want you to be angry with me about the past and everything I tried to do to protect you. The thought of losing my only son at the time terrified me that I didn't want you to see the world ever again."
"The truth comes out, huh." Adrien spoke. "I'm not as angry at you than I was. I'm really thankful about what happened over the last few years."
"You are?" Gabriel asked.
Adrien hummed as he nodded. "Yeah. You helped me through college, made my schedule where I'm not so busy with work all the time, and you're making up some of the time we never had."
"I...I'm glad you see it that way." Gabriel responded. The more he thought about his son growing up and leaving the estate, made him choke up and not wanting to speak. He wanted to excuse himself to let all out, but he was good at hiding it. Instead, he took a deep breath and continued putting things into boxes.
It was fairly seldom in the transition. They spoke a few times and even laughed together.
As Gabriel taped the top of the last box down, he caught Adrien looking out the window. "Looks like we're all done here, son." He spoke, trying to catch his attention. "I will call the movers to take the boxes and furniture away.
When the time came to move boxes and furniture out of his room, Adrien stayed still at the window, watching the movers take stuff away. His boxes of clothes, books, picture frames, electronics, and then furniture were being taken out by them.
When they were done and had left to go take it to the apartment, Adrien looked around the nearly empty room. He remembered climbing on the rocks on the wall, the few times he attempted skate boarding, and the stress relief of throwing a ball into the basketball hoop on the wall. The floor looked empty without his bed, desk, and lounge seating. He held a bag of necessities he could use until he could unpack at the apartment.
"Adrien, are you ready to go to the apartment? The interior designers would like your input on where everything goes after renovating." Gabriel asked, snapping Adrien out of his thoughts.
"Yeah. I'll be at the car in a minute." Adrien replied. "Just...remembering old times."
Gabriel understood completely. He walked over to his son and held onto his shoulders from behind. "Look what you began with, son. This was your world. But now you're in transition into a much broader world. It may seem small at first, but it'll become bigger as time goes on."
"What if..." Adrien began.
"You'll always have thoughts of the 'what if,' but if you don't go along with life, you won't learn."
"Learn what?"
"What you are in this crazy world. It's yours. Soon, you'll have Marinette to help you grow. Just think that everything is temporary, son."

"I DID IT! I FINIALLY DID IT!" Marinette shouted as she hugged as many of her friends as she can in one hug. Her makeup was already ruined by the tears she cried during her graduation ceremony. She held onto Adrien tightly before running to hug her parents.
Adrien was happy to pose with her for pictures taken by their friends and family moments after the ceremony in the auditorium. He didn't care that his dark teal button up shirt was now soaked with tears. He would pull Marinette in for a kiss and it always seemed picture perfect with those two. He wasn't doing it on purpose, he was really happy to see Marinette really happy with life at the moment. Even though they had taken dozens of college graduation photos during a photoshoot, Adrien didn't feel like an object in pictures when he's with her.
Tom and Sabine held a graduation party for their daughter the day after Marinette came home, celebrating her accomplishments by setting up mannequins of her designs over the years in college in the living room. It felt like was during the high school graduation party, except with less people.
Adrien had told her she was going to work with him as a designer, but haven't told her about the apartment that was in the process of decorating. This realization came when he saw Marinette heading up to her bedroom in her parents' home.
"S-Slow down, Mari!" Adrien tried to call out, but he saw her stop and look around the now empty attic space of her bedroom.
"Adrien...what happened here?" Marinette asked, trying to hold herself from panicking. Her desk, book shelves, wardrobe, sewing table, make up table, desks, furniture, and even her bed were gone. She felt like she walked into the same attic space she moved into years ago before it was painted in pink.
"Well...I was hoping to tell you this before I told you about work-"
"My parents are not kicking me out, are they?!" she asked.
Adrien put his hands up in defence. "No. They are not kicking you out." He said. He reached down to hold her hands. "We...are going to be living together as a couple." He said. "My father helped us get a really nice apartment and everything is being moved in right now." He tried to smile, but could see Marinette freaking out still.
"T-This is really sudden, kitty." She mumbled as she looked down at the bare wooden floor. "I just graduated and I'm now living with you and this new job-"
"Princess..." Adrien whispered as he cupped her chin and gently pulled her face towards him. "It's going to be okay. We'll get through this and make this new adventure work." He smiled a bit. "I know it's sudden to leave your home to live in a smaller world, but it's going to okay when we're with each other."
She blinked a couple times, comprehending what he said. "Adrien..."
"I'm scared to live away from home too, Mari." He spoke up. "But...I want our relationship to be serious. If we can handle this step, we know what to do in the future. Trust me, and I will trust you." He watched her become teary eyed again, as if she hit the realization that she's and adult now. He saw the promise ring as he held her tightly. He smiled and nuzzled into her neck.
"I love you, Adrien..." Marinette spoke up after a while.
"I love you too, Marinette." He replied as he rubbed her back. He pushed her off gently and smiled into her beautiful blue eyes. "This was your world..." he said. "...but now you're in transition into a much broader world. It may seem small at first, but it'll become bigger as time goes on." He watched her turn and look around the room as if it was officially the last time seeing it. He reached and wiped off her tears on her cheeks.
"Tons of memories were made in this room." She said.
"And we'll make more very soon...Marinette."
