It was late when a nurse walked into the room to check Marinette's charts, taking note of any changes and changing out the IV. She noticed Adrien asleep in the rocking chair and gently tapped his shoulder. "Sir, you can sleep on the chair over there if you like. I can bring in Emma's bed since she can be out of the nursery now."

Adrien snored until the nurse started to talk to him. He was careful not to drop the baby as he looked around his surroundings. "Oh, I'm sorry if I'm in the way." He said and carefully stood up.

"It's not a problem." The nurse said. "I'm sorry if I woke you up."

"It's okay," he said. "I understand if I'm too close to Marinette. I'll sit on the other side of the room. I'll be staying overnight in here with her."

The nurse smiled and finished the task she was doing. "You're a great husband and father for being so young. I'm sure she heard every word you said to her."

Adrien chuckled a bit and sat in the chair against the wall across from his love. He hummed to Emma to make sure she stayed asleep.

"You might find this hard to believe, princess, but your parents are fairly well known here in Paris." Adrien whispered. "We may be working in my father's company together as a model and designer...but we're actual real life super heroes." He laughed a bit, remembering all of the crazy adventures with Ladybug.

He had placed Emma in her crib almost an hour ago, and ever since, he held onto Emma's hand and talked to her as if she would understand in that moment. He knew the nurses wouldn't bother with his rambling, but it was better to talk to his daughter than to himself.

"It took us a while to find out our identities. It's a funny story, but if you ever hear about Ladybug and Chat Noir from your Aunt Alya's first crazy blog from high school, just know that it was us." He said, smiling as he brushed his thumb over Emma's small hand.

"I was Ladybug's side-kick. I had the ability to destroy things while Ladybug created them. it never bothered me once about not getting the media's attention like Ladybug did. When I was 15, I was so sick of the media attention. I was myself, goofing off and telling people how I felt, actually towards Chloe and your grandfather. Did I feel bad I said awful things behind the mask? Of course, but they deserved it from someone they don't really care for." He sighed, remembering the attitudes he had back then. "They opened up to me since then. Chloe is still annoying even as an adult, but father, he changed and opened up to me about what happened to mother, your grandmother."

"I can go on and tell you crazy stories over the last few years, but you're almost a few days old." He said, looking at Emma's sleeping face. "You will understand when you're older. Maybe I'll transform into Chat Noir and take you to the top of the Eiffel Tower at night. Maybe your mother will take you to the Notre Dame as Ladybug." He laughed at the thought of Emma seeing their super hero form for the first time during her child hood. He may have said all of this because he was thinking about going out for some fresh air. He wanted to run on the roof tops of Paris as if Ladybug was racing him to the monument again.

Adrien sighed and kissed his daughter's hand. "You'll get use to the media attention too, I bet. Just keep in mind that it's not our fault." He laughed a bit. "We're going to protect you at whatever cost, Emma. Mommy and daddy loves you very much." He smiled.

Adrien fell asleep in the chair. He had left Emma alone to sleep in a comfortable position in the chair. What stirred him awake was two nurses talking about the rain outside when they came into work. He ignored it for a while, falling back into a deep sleep.

The nurses were quiet, trying not to disturb Adrien as they took care of Emma and Marinette. One of the nurses noticed from the corner of her eye, Marinette was trying to wake up. "She was moving her fingers for a few seconds, but she hasn't made a sound yet." She said.

The second nurse watched, noticing the same movement. "Well, today will be the day. Call the doctor so we can help her move around again."

The first nurse nodded and left the room to send a message to the doctor.

The blonde was asleep for a couple more hours in the chair until he heard a musical humming sound inside the room. after a few minutes of the humming, his eyes fluttered open to the sound.

He looked in the crib to look for Emma, but couldn't find her. The humming was calming, but he wondered where Emma could be.

He took a breath, decided that a friend or family member came and picked Emma up to visit, or could have been a nurse. He heard the rain hitting the window beside him, and his attention turned towards that. The humming continued and wondered where it was coming from. The notes sounded like they were going up three notes, then back down three if that made any sense.

He stood up to move the curtain, surprised at the rain shower outside. The humming and the rain just flowed together for him for some odd reason that it was calming. He was thinking he could make into a lullaby for Emma.

After a few minutes, the humming stopped. He heard a small sound of laughter that made him turn around.

"I was starting to wonder if you'll notice me awake and holding our little girl." She laughed again.

"M-Marinette!" Adrien gasped, his eyes wide in shock. "Y-You're finally awake!" he smiled.

Marinette nodded and patted the spot beside her for him to sit. "I've been awake for an hour, dummy. The doctor said he'll call everyone once you woke up and notice." She smiled.

Adrien sat on the bed and kissed her. "Oh my sweet Marinette." He sighed, couldn't stop smiling from ear to ear. "I'm so happy you're awake and holding Emma."

Marinette smiled softly and rested her head on his shoulder. "I heard everything you said last night and this morning. You're such a charmer, Adrien."

"You're a fighter." Adrien laughed and kissed her forehead.

"Doctor said I should be good to go home tonight or tomorrow morning." She said. "I'm ready to go home. I'm sorry for scaring every one and not telling you I was sick for over a month."

"Don't worry. I was starting to blame myself for what happened, but some friends helped me through it or else I would have been a mess when you wake up."

"You stress about everything, Adrien." She smiled. "I'm fine. Emma is healthy and adorable. I'm happy you were the first person I saw even though you were asleep in that chair."

"I rather see you awake first then being told later." He smiled back at her.

She giggled softly as she kissed his lips again. She stopped when she heard thunder outside and laughed. "Just like when we fell in love in the rain."

Adrien remembered and laughed. "Our first rain storm together." He said.

A few months has past and Marinette and Emma had been doing well at home. Marinette wasn't allowed to go back to work at Gabriel's company until Emma was six months old, or a year if Marinette wishes. She decided if she had to wait a year to return to the company, she would work from home until she felt like herself again.

Adrien took the same six months off work with Marinette with no argument with his father. He thought it would be fair to learn what works and doesn't work for Emma while he had the time at home.

He thanked everyone who would came by to help them when they needed it, usually taking Emma to visit her grandparents and being spoiled. Nino and Alya came by twice a week to see if the couple needed a moment to rest or to be together without the baby for a day. Marinette thought it was too soon for Emma to learn separation, so she often declines to leave Emma for a whole day with anyone besides her or Adrien.

The savings for a house grew each month as the search continued every week. Often times, they couldn't decide on how big their dream house would be or if they wanted to do the improvements themselves. After a two-month debate, they decided to eventually buy a three-bedroom house and they would pay for any remodeling and build their back yard. Adrien declined his father's help on this choice.

Chat Noir raced Ladybug to the tower as fast as his baton would allow him. Tonight was one of the nights they let Emma stay with Marinette's parents so the couple can go on a date. What started as a date night turned into Marinette's declaration of racing around Paris like they were young again.

He couldn't believe the energy his lady had suddenly, rather or not her kwami gave her the bolt of energy or not, he was happy Marinette was Marinette again.

"Looks like I won, kitty!" Ladybug giggled as she jumped onto the top of the monument with the biggest smile on her face.

Chat was only two thirds up the tower when he looked up at her. He laughed, running and swinging his way to the top to meet Ladybug. "You beat me in a race again, my lady." He said, wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her neck.

Ladybug squirmed and giggled. "It's a beautiful night. I've been wanting to go out as Ladybug for a long time, but we never have the chance to anymore."

"There hasn't been an akuma in years, princess." Chat said. "I'm happy that Paris is at peace again, even though superheroes still own this town."

Ladybug smiled and turned to face Chat. "I couldn't have asked for a life-long partner, Mr. Adrien Agreste."

The blonde smiled and held her close to kiss her.

"Please don't leave me vulnerable like that, Mrs. Marinette Agreste."
