Fall approached the couple suddenly, to which Marinette noticed Adrian acting strange when they are around each other. They continued doing lovey dovey couple things, it's just the dates became a weekly event. Every weekend was Netflix night where they cuddle and fall asleep in each other's arms in the living room. Twice a month Adrien takes Marinette to a fancy restaurant to talk and then take a night stroll around the park. Marinette was grateful for every lunch date they had next to the Seine every other day when schedule allowed. It wasn't annoying, but she noticed how attached Adrien is to her for in a good way.

The day at work at Gabriel's company seemed busy but slow for Marinette. She had a lot on her to do list at work and the chattering coworkers wasn't really helping. She had already been told once not to use headphones at work unless she was drawing new designs, but that wasn't on her list today. Her job today was to pick out fabrics, organize photos from photoshoots, and fill a work order of any fabric they need. She didn't dread it, she just wanted someone to talk to or simply listen to music as she worked.

"Marinette." Grabriel said as he walked into her office without knocking. This annoyed her, but she expected it from him.

"Can I help you, sir?" she asked, putting down the bolt of satin fabric.

"I want to give you a day off." He ordered. "You are dismissed from work as of now." He said, turning to walk away.

"W-What? Why?" she asked. "Isn't Adrien still busy with today's photoshoot?" she asked.

"He said he had an important task to do." Gabriel said, turning to her. "Speaking of, he told me to give you this." He pulled a note from his coat and handed it to her. "Have a wonderful day, Marinette." He said, walking out again.

She didn't have any words, not even enough time to thank him for giving her a day off. She grabbed her sweater from the closet and wrapped it around herself. She opened the note and read it aloud.

"Good afternoon, Bugaboo. I hope today went well, but allow me to make it amazing. Go outside and meet up with me outside. Love, Adrien Agreste."

Marinette rode the elevator down to the lobby and exited the building. She didn't find Adrien, she found one of his drivers holding the door open for her.

The driver drove the young woman to one of the busiest shopping squares in the city. Out all places to be dropped off in her opinion.

As soon the car stopped, Marinette stepped out of the car and watched the crowd curiously. She was praying that she wasn't going to be noticed since she had been seen a lot lately with the blonde model. She looked at the signs of the boutiques offered in the square, the people walking side by side each other, and then a small group of people gathered around a couple street performers. she walked close to the street performers and noticed they were singing of love in French.

She fell in love with the tempo and the meaning each phrase of the song meant, simply a song of young love in the city of Paris.

Once the song was over, Marinette reached into her bag to pick out the change in her wallet to give them, but she was the only person they stopped out of the group of Parisians who watched them.

"Are you Miss Dupain-Cheng?" asked the woman.

"She fits the picture he showed us." The man chuckled. He noticed Marinette's confused look and nodded at the woman. "She seems to be the one."

The woman nodded in agreement and reached into her instrument case to pick up a box and a note. "It's heavy, but he said it's for later." She said, winking at her.

"Um...Thank you, and have a good day!" she said before walking away from the couple. Once she was far enough and checking to see if anyone would bump into her, she pulled the ribbon on the box apart and opened it. Inside was a heart shaped lock and a key.

"Does he want to meet up at Pont de Arts?" She asked herself, then she opened the note she was given.

"An old friend is helping me at the Seine River. Don't worry, I'll meet you soon, Mari. Love Adrien Agreste"

"Hey Marinette!" Shouted a familiar male voice to the young woman's ears. Looking toward the river, she noticed a red haired man waving at her from a boat.

"N-Nathanael?!" she shouted. Gosh, she hasn't seen him in a long time. She ran to the bridge to meet him. "Hey, what's up!" she waved back.

"Nothing much." Nathanael smiled at her. His hair looked like it had been recently trimmed and had continued to dress nice like an artist he is. As soon as he stepped onto the port, he was hugged tightly by Marinette, making him blush. "Um...Nice to see you too, Marinette." He smiled shyly.

Marinette giggled a bit and pulled away. "So are you the one helping Adrien?" she asked.

"In a way." He said. "Let's get in the boat, or else you'll be late." He offered a hand to help her onto the boat, which she accepted.

"It's awesome that you and Adrien are still together after all these years." Nathanael said to avoid the silence between him and Marinette.

"I'm still surprised myself." She said, playing with the hem of her sweater. She looked towards the water, wondering where Nathanael was taking her. "Are you still jealous of Adrien?" she asked curiously.

"He makes you happy, more than I can." He said softly. "He told me great things that came from the relationship. He said you give him hope in living in the same world you do."

"T-That is really awesome to say." She smiled shyly while blushing. It was something Adrien had reminded her every day when he remembers.

"I'm happy that you are safe and happy, Marinette." He said. "You two are perfect for each other right now." He said.

She giggled a bit before turning her attention towards the river again. She smiled just thinking about her moments with Adrien, but could hint that Nathanael was jealous. Maybe Nathanael still have feelings for her after he was akumatized. She wasn't sure.

"So a cat told me that you like a certain place which sparked your fashion interest." Nathanael said, stopping the boat at another pier

"Tons of places inspired me." Marinette smiled a bit. When she looked up to see where they are, she saw a familiar building popular for boutiques and small cafes. "Passage Vivienne?" she asked.

"Go in and shop. I'll wait out here for you." He said while tying a rope around a pole to keep the boat still in the water.

"But I don't have money to shop this time." she confessed. "Not with rent coming up and I was going to go shopping for dinner tonight- "

"Go and have a good time, Marinette." Nathanael smiled as he motioned her to go inside.

Once she was inside, she noticed that it was busy in the boutiques, salons, and cafes. It is late in the afternoon, Marinette thought, busiest time to go shopping, I guess.

"Is that her over there?" Marinette heard a woman ask.

"Fits the picture." A man replied.

Marinette looked towards the couple and noticed how they look like they worked in their respective stores. "May I help you?" she asked them.

The woman perked up and smiled at her. "It's lovely to meet Mr. Agreste's girlfriend today! He had told me all about you and he said today was a special day."

"A special day?" Marinette asked herself. I thought his birthday already passed? Is it an anniversary I'm forgetting?! She felt the woman pull on her hand and drag her into one of the designer clothes stores. As she guides the young woman around the store, she instructed Marinette to pick out a single outfit for a perfect date.

"I-I can't!" Marinette stuttered. "I love your store, I really do, but I don't have enough money to cover an outfit and accessories and- "

"Don't worry your pretty blue head, miss Marinette!" the woman stopped her. "Everything is going on his tab." She said as she started wondering around the store again. "I have an idea on an outfit if you would like to see the mannequin."

The employee walked Marinette to the back of the show room and presented a mannequin with an ideal outfit. "What do you think?" she asked.

Marinette smiled a bit and nodded. "I'll try it." She said.

"Perfect!" the employee squealed and shoved the woman into a dressing room. She took off the outfit from the mannequin and threw it over the door. "Be quick now." She said as she went to put the mannequin back in its place.

Marinette dressed into a gray high waist wool skirt that goes down to her knees with black stockings and a white and pink stripped long sleeve shirt that felt lighter than it looked. She looked at herself in the mirror and giggled at her image. She stopped when she saw ankle boots as wedges.

"Put these on. Don't want you to break your ankles or make you uncomfortable with regular heels." The employee said.

Marinette did what she was told and carefully put the shoes on. She stood up and noticed they weren't hard to stand in. Walking in a couple circles, she found her balance quickly. She folded her work clothes and put them in a bag she found in the dressing room. She walked out and found a jacket being held up to her.

"It's going to get chili, soon." Said the employee. "There's a pair of earrings, a necklace, and bracelets for you to wear too."

Marinette didn't fight it and put on the accessories. She stood in front of a full body mirror to admire her outfit. "This look amazing."

"It has been my pleasure to serve you, miss Marinette." The employee smiled. "Now if you go across the way, a hairdresser is waiting for you."

"Thanks for everything! I love this outfit!" She smiled back and picked up her purse, jacket, and her bag of belongings. She looked at the employee's name tag and smiled warmly at her name. "Thank you so much, Emma." She said.

After she was allowed to leave the boutique, she walked around to find the salon she was to go to. Luckily it wasn't too far of a walk in the building.

"Ah! Marinette Dupain-Cheng!" the hairdresser smiled at her and picked up her hand. "You look lovely in that outfit. Mister Agreste did a suburb job of picking it out for you." He said then kissed the top of her hand.

Marinette giggled a bit before taking her hand back. "So I'm getting a make-over?" she asked.

"I was thinking of a trim and letting your hair down. Make up and fresh nail paint will be applied in the package today." He said.

"That does sound nice." She said and smiling at the thought of sitting down and relaxing.

The man lead Marinette to a salon chair and laid her belongings on the table across from her. "Now, we're just going to trim up the bangs, then make a braided crown and curl the rest so it flows. It'll be romantic!"

Marinette laughed as she relaxed into the chair. "Sounds like fun." She looked up to catch his name on the name tag. Louis...I like that name too, she thought.

Nathanael had been waiting on Marinette for a couple hours now by the boat. He had left the boat once to buy coffee and a croissant for himself. Not too long after finishing his snack, he saw Marinette walk out of the building, looking completely different than when she walked in. "You look beautiful, Marinette." He smiled at her.

Marinette giggled a bit. "Thanks." She said, trying not to ruin her short pink French tipped nails as she held his hand to step into the boat and sitting down again.

He untied the boat from the pole and pushed the boat way from the wall. "You know, I'm still pretty jealous of Adrien." He admitted.

"Why?" she asked curiously.

"Well." He sighed before starting his rant. "He's perfect and you're beautiful. You two have a lot in common than me and you did. You were the sweetest and perfect girl in school back then. The way Adrien came and swept you off your feet made me feel like I can't be anything like him at all for you."

"Nathanael..." she sounded empathetic towards him. "You'll find someone perfect for you. She may not be your muse right now, but she'll be more perfect than me." she smiled a bit for him.

He smiled and nodded a bit. "You're right. You always say the right thing and that's why I missed you over the years. Thank you, Marinette."

"It's my pleasure, Nathanael." She said, moving a strand of hair out of her face without ruining what little make up she was wearing.

The two talked about work for the long while they were in the boat together. Marinette was surprised to hear that Nathanael was working at an art gallery. The two laughed while making jokes about their friends and simply catching up with each other. Before they knew it, they were close to the Eiffel Tower.

"Adrien not around here?" Marinette asked.

"Well, that would give everything away." Nathanael laughed as he tied the boat with a rope next to a pole. He helped her climb out of the boat and onto the sidewalk. "Thank you for everything, Marinette." He said before holding a red rose out to her. "Be yourself, Marinette. That's the one true thing you can do for yourself. Go and make Adrien the happiest man on this planet" He said smiling sweetly.

She smiled and gently took the rose from his hand. "Thank you, Nathanael." She said before turning and walking away with her belongings.

Marinette had to stop to wrap herself with the pink sweater when the weather suddenly become cooler. She held onto her bag of work clothes in one hand while admiring the rose in the other hand.

"There she is!" a few guys yelled.

"Marinette!" squealed a few women, including one she never forgotten.

--

Adrien fidgeted the velvet object in the pocket of his dark brown trench coat as he stood where he thought the monument looked perfect in the background. He figured that was the best way to go through the event without strangling himself with his scarf. He suddenly heard the squeals and cheers of joy at the place he anticipated his love would go to, which was the rose garden in the distance. He looked up and noticed how happy Marinette was seeing her old friends again. He smiled at the sight and imagined how the next several minutes would go.

He felt the phone in his pocket vibrate and picked it up to unlock it.

Nino: Ready for her to come over?

Adrien: If she is.

Adrien took a deep breath after locking his phone and putting it in his pocket. Now is the time that I'm nervous? He thought. I love her and I can't wait to marry her. I pray she says yes...

He looked up from the pavement and saw her walking to him with a bundle of roses in her hands, Alya already taken the bag of her belongings. He tapped the velvet box a few times before slipping his hands out of the pocket.

"Good evening, my lady." He smiled charmingly at her. "You look beautiful and the sun is just setting."

Marinette giggled and tried to hide her blush behind the bundle of black and red roses. "T-Thanks you, Adrien. I felt like I went to a lot of places today after your father gave me the day off."

He paced himself to give their friends into position behind some bushes. It's going like I planned, he thought. He looked down at the roses and started adjusting them. "They go like this, Buginette." He said as he rearranged them to look like the wings of a ladybug.

Marinette admired the style and looked up at him. "Adrien...Everything has been sweet from you, but why all the gifts?"

Adrien chuckled a bit. "Well...Can you believe it's been roughly 10 years since we appeared in each other's lives, my lady?" he asked. "10 interesting years, I may add. As Chat Noir, I fell in love with Ladybug. As Adrien, I feel in love with Ladybug. Hear me out when I say that I am still amazed that you are my ladybug, Marinette." He relaxed his nerves as he held her hands. "We were apart from time to time, and we had our fights and bitter agreements during the year we lived together, but that's what made us stronger, Mari." He took a breath to calm his nerves again. I love you, and I want to take the honor of asking you," he swiftly kneeled on one knee and held open the velvet box, revealing a new diamond ring and keeping eye contact with her. "Will you marry me, Marinette Dupain-Cheng?"

With tears in her eyes, she nodded. "Y-Yes!" She giggled and hugged him tightly. "Yes, I'll marry you, Adrien!!" she cried into his shoulder.

Adrien kissed her forehead and held her. After a few more second, he gently pushed her away to trade the promise ring with the engagement ring.

"SHE SAID YES!!!" Alya cheered with Nino and the friends who stayed to watch and take pictures.

Marinette was held close until Adrien dipped her back and kissed her passionately on the lips. Her face turned red, but she held onto him as they kissed. It seemed picture perfect for everyone with the Eiffel Tower in the background.

After the small celebration and posing for pictures, Adrien held Marinette around the waist with his arm as they walked towards Pont des Arts. Lamps were light one by one as the couple walked.

Marinette continued to hold the bouquet of roses and occasionally rested her head on his shoulder. "What a day...It doesn't feel real yet." She sighed.

"Not after today." Adrien said. "I'm happy that you liked my gifts and said yes."

"Why wouldn't I?" she giggled. She looked up at him and smiled. "I love you, kitty."

"I love you, bugaboo." He smiled back at her before kissing her again.

As they walked onto the bridge full of padlocks, Marinette spotted a guitar playing street performer leaning on the bridge. She was about to guess if it was coincidental or planned before Adrien softly called for her attention.

"How about we listen for a few minutes." he smiled a bit.

She nodded and rested on him while they watched the street performer who was singing slow in French.

Adrien stood behind her and held her waist. They swayed back and forth, lost in the beautiful music. When the song ended, they gave the young man change and asked for his name, learning his name was Hugo.

"Newly engaged?" Hugo asked as he took a break from playing. "I've never seen a couple as lovely as you two."

"Thank you very much for the compliment." Adrien laughed a bit. "Can we have a moment for a minute?" he asked politely.

"Sure, I need to grab something anyways." He said, waving as he walked to his set up.

"I've met some interesting people today." Marinette commented. "Oh, I was given this." She said as she picked up the box out of her purse.

Adrien nodded and took out the lock and key. "I thought this was better than giving me half of a silly accessory." He said. "The lock is in a heart shape because you want to give me your heart. Marinette, I will protect you, your heart, and our future. I love you very much that we should participate in the French tradition." He suggested.

She laughed a bit as they started looking for a spot to hang the padlock. They managed to find room for the lock in the middle of the bridge's fence. She locked the padlock and hesitated about throwing the key into the Seine.

"Don't worry." he said, placing his hand on top of hers holding the key. "I made a copy for show." He smirked.

She laughed a bit and threw the original key into the Seine. "Our love is sealed here, isn't it?" she asked.

"If that's what the tradition say." He said before gently turning her around to kiss her passionately again while holding her. The two stayed in position while the guitar player came back with a camera.

"You two are perfect for each other." Hugo said while taking a picture like Adrien asked him too.
