[Chapter 66]: Home
"Katsukiiiii, what year is it? I feel like I've just returned from the dead." You grumbled against Katsuki's back, still hanging over his shoulder.
"You damn idiot. You're fine, don't listen to that old hag." He continued walking down the dimly lit street, glaring at any passerby's who looked at him funny. "If you're don't acting petrified, I'm dropping you."
"Wait... Give me a second too-"
"Three, two, one." Katsuki counted quickly before pulling you back forward and down against his chest. He plopped you down in front of him, taking extra care to make sure you didn't fall over. You glanced up at him and chuckled.
"You're such a softy Katsuki."
"I am not, the fuck."
"You said you were gonna drop me, not carefully set me down like I'm made out of glass." Katsuki became visibly irritated by your words. A vein popped out of his forehead as he swiveled on his heels back in the direction of his house.
"On second thought, get your shit yourself. I'm gonna go eat all your food-"
"NO I'M SORRY, YOU'RE NOT A SOFTY. LOVE ME KATSUKIII!" You cried sarcastically while grabbing his shirt.
"No."
"I'll give you a kiss."
He paused briefly.
"...Is it gonna be a shitty peck on the cheek?" He grumbled.
I got him now.
"Nope, any kind of kiss you want~" You replied sweetly.
Katsuki went silent. You skipped around to the other side of him to glance at his expression. He appeared to be in a daze.
"...Katsuki." Your words snapped him out of his trance."You were thinking impure thoughts weren't you..."
"LIKE FUCKING HELL DIE YOU DAMN SCU-"
You pressed a peck against his lips to cut off his ranting. Upon pulling away, you noticed a light flush on his cheeks.
"Fuck you..."
"Heh, predictable." You chuckled back before intertwining your fingers with his. He didn't protest as you pulled him along down the street. Both of you fell into a peaceful silence.

When what was once your home came into view your throat tightened. You knew this was going to be hard, but not like this. It was like the world was falling apart all over again. It took you a moment to collect your thoughts. Katsuki stepped back as you used your key to open the door.
You pushed it open and slowly took a few steps forward into the dark room. The floor was clear; the air still and heavy, making it apparent that nobody had been there for awhile. But it still smelled the same. It smelled like all those nights that Takashi had made you ramen and asked you about your day. And now, the once comforting scent induced nothing but pain and sorrow.
"Hurry up, we're not gonna get anything done dicking around here-" Katsuki stopped when he saw your face. You were completely frozen, knees shaking, eyes wide.
"Katsuki... I-I..."
I can't do this.
For a moment you just stood there in a daze, spacing out. You weren't crying, you weren't screaming, but you definitely wanted to.
"I-I'm okay. Sorry." You turned away from Katsuki to head up the stairs, only to be halted by him grabbing your wrist.
"You're a shitty liar, remember?"
I need to hold it together.
"Seriously, I'm okay Katsuki." You shakily responded, still not turning to look at him. He stood there for a moment and glared at you.
Suddenly he yanked you backward, causing you to stumble onto the couch.
"Katsu-"
"Sit your ass down and fucking listen."
He pulled his phone from his pocket, scrolling through its contents before pressing on an audio file. You instantly recognized the voice.
That's... Takashi...
"W-wait Katsuki... I don't wanna-"
"Listen." He commanded.
And so you did.
You sat there and listened to Takashi tell his tale. How you killed his real family. How he wanted to watch you suffer. How he sold you out. How he despised you.
The recording stopped.
Katsuki lowered the phone and peered down at you.
"Cry, scream, break shit; do what you need to do. But you're not allowed to lie to yourself or me anymore." Slowly he lowered himself down to kneel in front of you. He took your hands in his. "Do you remember? We made a promise."
"N-No I can't..." Your breathing grew heavy as your body quivered. "I'll lose again control and I'll..."
"You won't."
Katsuki's words were stern and sudden. You lifted your gaze to meet his as he brought your hands up to his face, planting gentle kisses along the knuckles.
"Because these are the hands of a hero."
"Katsuki..." Your eyes shut tightly as a heavy streams of tears raced down your cheeks, gathering at the tip of your chin before dripping onto your hands. "I'm sorry... This house, I just..." He let go of your hands.
Katsuki stood and walked over to the corner table that had the picture of you and Takashi as kids on it. He picked it up. You stood also, watching him carefully.
"What are you-"
Your question was cut short by the sound of glass shattering. Katsuki had slammed the picture against the wall. You gasped in shock and stumbled over to him.
"W-WAIT, KATSUKI STO-"
Before you had a chance to stop him the seething blond had brought his palm down against the table, blowing it up. You nearly jumped on him, pulling his arm away from it.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?! YOU'LL GET IN TROUBLE YOU IDIOT!"
"I DON'T GIVE A FUCK! I CAN'T STAND TO SEE YOU LIKE THIS." He pushed you off him, freeing up his arm enough so that he could send out another blast into the kitchen. "IF REDUCING THIS DAMN HOUSE TO FUCKING ASH IS WHAT IT TAKES, SO BE IT!"
Plates cascaded off the shelves, shattering against the floor in a sorrowful melody. The ramen pot that Takashi always used flew from the cupboard, banging against the wall and making you cry out to him once more.
"PLEASE KATSUKI, I'M FINE. YOU DON'T NEED TO DO THIS-"
"FUCK YOU, YOU'RE NOT FINE. SHIT'S FUCKED AND YOU NEED TO ACCEPT THAT!"
He's right... I know he's right... I'm just so reluctant to acknowledge that truth.
Katsuki continued; kicking furniture over, blowing up cushions, screaming at the top of his lungs.
Stop it...
"That's enough..." He didn't stop. You walked up behind him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "I SAID ENOUGH!"
This time he did.
You stepped past him and took hold of the chair he was about to destroy. Not a moment later, you lifted it and smashed it against the wall.
"FUCK YOU TAKASHI! FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU!" You turned and slammed your foot into the couch, sending it toppling over onto its side.
Katsuki stood there silently and allowed you to take out every ounce of frustration that had been boiling in your body since the beginning. You cried, you screamed, you broke shit, but maybe that's what you needed.

Minutes went by. The living room and kitchen were practically reduced to rubble.
Finally your knees crumbled beneath you, causing your body to collapse to the floor. Your breathing was heavy, your eyes swollen, your mind an absolute mess; but surprisingly enough you felt much lighter.
Katsuki knelt down behind you, wrapping his arms around your neck and pulling you back against him.
"(Y/n)..." His voice was tender as he nuzzled his nose against your head. "Come on, let's grab your stuff." You sniffled and nodded.
Katsuki helped you stand and led you upstairs to collect what few possessions you could take with you. You didn't talk anymore as you rummaged through your things. There was nothing more that needed to be said.
Afterwards, you made your way back downstairs. You couldn't help but pause when you arrived back at the door, taking one last moment to glance back. Katsuki reached down and took hold of your hand.
"Come on, let's go home."
