[Chapter 65]: I'm sure

"Miss (y/n), wait up a moment." You paused and turned to face the voice approaching you from behind. You smiled gently upon recognition.

"Judge Saito, thank you so much for today." You bowed your head lightly forward in gratitude. The rest of your entourage halted as well. Saito grunted and waved his hand a bit.

"Please stop, I'm just doing my job." After lifting your head back up, he held out a piece of paper to you. "Here. This is a warrant to search Takashi's house so that you may retrieve your belongings."

Takashi.

The name left a bitter taste in your mouth. You reached out to take hold of the document.

"Thank you sir..."

A moment of silence fell over everyone.

"If you were curious, he's been charged 3 years in prison for aiding in extortion and illegal possession of firearms." Saito spoke lowly, before looking past you and at Katsuki. "That boy and a few of your other classmates managed to get a recording of him admitting to setting you up. It's thanks to them that he was brought to justice."

The recording...

You had been made aware of what happened that night with Katsuki, Shouto, Ochaco, and Izuku. Yet you still couldn't bring yourself to listen to what Takashi had to say about you. At the moment, the weight of everything was still too much.

I miss them... I want to go back to school as soon as possible.

With that, Saito left you with Aizawa and the Bakugou's. You turned back to them and continued out towards the door. Katsuki alone had paused for a moment to glare back at Mr. Furukawa, who had also just exited the courtroom.

He had a powerful urge to blow the man up but resigned himself to simply mouthing "I'll kill you" instead.

"MAKE YOURSELF RIGHT AT HOME (Y/N)!" Mitsuki said as she squeezed the living daylights out of you the moment you entered the Bakugou household.

"ARE YA TRYING TO KILL HER YOU DAMN OLD HAG?!" Katsuki growled as he clutched Mitsuki's arm in an attempt to free you.

"Oka- Mitsuki. I c-can't breathe..." You mumbled against her chest. She giggled and released you.

"Sorry sorry! Would you like something to drink dear?" She questioned sweetly. Honestly, you hadn't really taken care of yourself at all recently with all that was going on.

"Just some water please. Thank you."

"You don't need to talk so formally (y/n)." She placed a hand on your shoulder. "You're not imposing on us at all, okay?" It's like she had read your mind. Your brow furrowed as you attempted to fight back tears.

"Okay!" You responded firmly. Mitsuki chuckled before heading into the kitchen. Masaru was already working on dinner.

You plopped down onto the couch next to Katsuki, throwing your head back against the cushion.

I swear I could pass out right now-

You felt fingers intertwine with yours, a notion that made you jump.

"The fuck is your deal?" Katsuki grumbled.

"Oh sorry, it just surprised me..."

Maybe it was how long it had been, or the fact that most of the touch you had received recently were guards forcefully guiding you into cells. But today especially, his touch felt warm and comforting.

He tugged at your hand a bit as if egging you towards him. Your eyes meet his and you were taken aback.

I guess I haven't had a quiet moment like this with Katsuki in almost a month...

And then you found that both of you were unconsciously leaning in towards each other. Your lips parted slightly as they gravitated towards his, eyes slowly closing.

SNAP

Mitsuki had seemingly appeared behind the couch out of nowhere, her blond spiked hair popping up from behind the cushions.

"Aw shucks, if only I had waited a moment longer..." She grumbled, peering at the picture as if to pout.

"You damn old hag..." The fabric under Katsuki's hands was smoking. "I'M GONNA FUCKING KILL YOU-" His mouth was cut off by a glass cup shoved up against his face.

"Now now, you want some cute pictures to show your kids one day don't you?" Mitsuki replied in a completely serious tone. Katsuki was completely red to his ears.

"GOD DAMMIT WOMAN, LISTEN-"

"Here's your water (y/n)!" Mitsuki smiled as she ignored her son and gently placed another glass in your hands. You giggled uncomfortably as you took hold of it.

"Thanks Mitsuki..."

Oh boy. Am I even going to make it through today...

You and Katsuki both sipped on your water while avoiding eye contact. Mitsuki had shuffled around the furniture and took a seat next to you.

"Dinner will be ready in 10." Masaru called out from the kitchen.

"Perfect! Thank you dear!"

After taking a few more moments to feel awkward, you slowly lifted your gaze to Mitsuki.

"I don't recall you guys having an extra room. Will I be sleeping on the couch then?" You questioned before taking another sip of water.

"Oh no sweetie! You'll be staying in Katsuki's room!"

Perfectly in sync, you and Katsuki spat out your water. Masaru overheard his wife's comment and quickly turned.

"W-Wait honey?! Don't you think that's a little..."

"Oh please Masaru! These kids have practically been through hell to stay with each other! I'd say they're plenty adult enough to share a room!"

If you weren't flustered before you were definitely now. Your head shakily turned up to face Katsuki who looked like his soul left his body.

"Oh! But before we eat, we should go get your stuff from your house (y/n)." Mitsuki smiled gently.

"Tch, it's fine. We'll go get it ourselves." Katsuki growled, still clearly annoyed and flustered by his mother's comments. "(Y/n)! Let's go!" But you didn't move. You had practically turned to stone from sheer embarrassment. "Oi, snap out of it you big idiot." Katsuki stood and pinched your cheeks. Still no response. "Damn you're such a pain..."

Katsuki bent down and took hold of you before throwing you over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. Mitsuki covered her coy smile.

"We'll be back in a few. Make sure it's still hot." Katsuki grumbled as he slipped his shoes back on.

"Ooooo Katsuki how bold~"

"WE'RE JUST GOING TO GET HER SHIT, SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY." The blond screamed before slamming the door shut behind him.

Mitsuki laughed as the two of you left before laying back onto the couch. There were a few moments of peaceful silence before Masaru spoke up.

"Are you sure about all this Mitsuki? You heard what that man and the judge said right?"

She did hear. She heard them speak about the accident. She knew her own son had recklessly gone out of his way to protect you. He could have died. But despite all that, she still smiled up at the ceiling and reassured her husband.

"Yeah, I'm sure."
